I understand the point you are trying to make, Twisted Chains, but you do not represent the majority. The majority will not be buying Game Informer. The reason a magazine gets an exclusive such as Game Informer's 10 page deal on Halo is to help give the consumer incentive to buy the magazine. You cannot argue that removing the exclusivity of a magazine's content helps improve the sales of said magazine.
You said yourself that you own every Halo action figure available. You're a hardcore fan, then. Do you think the 4 million OTHER people that own Halo all share your sentiment? Unfortunately, they don't. In fact, you probably couldn't count a million different individuals in all the Halo forums on the internet. That means that folks like you or me are the minority. You can't then assume that just because you and your friends bought be magazine after seeing it online, that everyone would follow your pattern. That's just like assuming that it's okay to download commercial software if you're going to buy it later. No, it's not.
To put it the most simply, Bungie gave Game Informer this story as an exclusive. Game Informer put this story into their magazine as an effort to draw in purchases. Posting their story in a free format without their permission is a form of literary piracy, and will not be tolerated here.
