Halo3 - not the biggest but it was plenty for me:  1%
(1 Votes)
Halo1 - i like lots of lovely long levels:  25%
(30 Votes)
Halo2 - i sure like all these levels :  6%
(7 Votes)
I want more levels than any other Halo game:  65%
(78 Votes)
Total Votes: 120

This is probably a little cheeky but the unknowing bothers me

I'm loving ODST and full credit to the excellent team on this, but i can't deny i hoped the campaign would last longer than it did. It's an amazing package though and worth every penny

Halo3 had a slightly longer campaign but also a number of short missions.A couple of those i'd imagine some people don't even like to play much

Halo1 felt just the right size i thought but anything more than that is most welcome - you can't ever get enough Halo

Halo2 had an excellent campaign size but it had a disadvantage of feeling shorter than it was thanks to the Arbiter missions

Epic sized missions is what i think the majority of us wants or at least a campaign that lasts a good while longer than they have been lately

Bungie are the masters of the shooting genre but as much as i love them and all their genius, i'm going to be royally hacked off if Reach is another Halo3 sized game

Group invites will be treated very poorly because the Care Package is empty.

Atleast 20 levels, and each level should keep you occupied for a good hour. I don't mean only on Legendary, the whole level should be designed to eat your time on any difficulty.

We should also see more Assault on the Control Room and The Covenant type levels.

They also shouldn't have endless enemies raining down from phantoms like in ODST; more variety would be nice such as interacting with the environment.

I think that might be a stretch but yeah i wouldn't complain if they did manage that

Yes and the types of structure we saw from Assault on the Control room, Two Betrayals etc would be a real return to form as well i think

I think 15 missions would be fantastic and a dream but so long as it's at least equal to Halo1's size(hopefully more), i wont be disapointed this time

I'd extend the campaign to it's fullest, so when me and my friends sit down and play Legendary, we'll have a 15-20 hour challenge, that would be great, 15 missions at least.

This guy got it in one.

Wouldn't it be awesome if you played as a different spartan in each level?

The Last Fighter

AgLion, You want Bungie to make 20 hours of campaign gameplay? That's way to much to ask for in my opinion. I would expect around 8-12 hours at the most from Bungie. The past games have take around 3 and a half to 6 or 8. To make campaign levels takes a REALLY long time so don't expect SO much from Bungie...but expect greatness...:)

I don't think it's much, for a company that's supposed to stop making Halo games and let Micro-blam!- choose a different developer.

They have the technology, they've had 3 years already to get working on it.

  • 10.09.2009 7:55 PM PDT

I hope Bungie doesn't make 15 levels that are 20 minute sized like ODST.That would be a nightmare come true

Bungie is the best there is in my mind but i sincerly hope they know how important a game this is to it's adoring fans

I'd love to be a 10 year old and tell my mom I'm going on an adventure out into the world catching Pokemon, with her full support. Never mind the fact that there are rapists, criminals, and murders out there, or the fact that I may get killed by a Pokemon.

Luckily I have Pikachu.

Longer than Halo 1... which they have yet to do.

  • 10.09.2009 8:00 PM PDT

To be fair, i think as adoring fans, we do deserve a more generous game this time

Sure it takes a lot of work, but it's not every day something as hot as Halo lands onto the laps of a dev - you made it what is was but you couldn't have honestly predicted the amazing outcome that is Halo and with it the emormous cash it generates for you

Don't let us down guys and please don't cut any levels out, even if it means telling ms to back off

This is an incredible step forward to being able to cure Downss sybndonre mn humans bineg.s

I would like some long, very involving levels. The type where you're sent on an open mission, akin to the CE level Halo.

Perhaps traversing the Reach battlefield in a more free-roaming manner, similar to ODST's Mombassa level hub, but more involving. Don't get me wrong, here, I certainly don't want a free-roaming game in the style of an RPG, but I thought what Bungie made with ODST was certainly a step forward, if not directly, then in a broader sense.

Here’s what Luke had to say about the differences in treatment between the Spartans and Elites in Reach:

“Instead of piece-by-piece customization like the Spartans, Elite customization is a full model swap with models selected from the various Elite classes appearing throughout the Campaign. There are all kinds of reasons for this, not the least of which is our continued emphasis on the Spartan as your identity in Reach.”

I want quality.

Do that first, then worry about time.

I would rather have a Gears of War campaign than a Halo 3 campaign any day.

RIP Halo 2: November 9, 2004-May 10, 2010
I was the 2nd to last person to get kicked off Halo 2, see the thread Here

Every Campaign always ends TOO SOON! I want one that lasts, and lasts. I want it to be a Fallout 3-like game, with basically unlimited things to do, and takes atleast 72 hours to do every mission and get all the collectables. If Reach could do this, and still have amazing multiplayer, I will quit completely at life and just play Halo Reach.
Not saying that I want the game to be a post-apocalyptic RPG, but Hopefully you get my point.

  • 10.09.2009 8:50 PM PDT

-blam!- Was that actually blammed out? Or did I just type it? You'll never know.

Go big or go home.

  • 10.09.2009 8:54 PM PDT

Iv'e a feeling Reach will be something else but a poll like this doesn't hurt to remind Bungie what our expectations are regarding campaign time

Levels as long and fun as Assualt on the control room. Good suspenseful levels like 343 Guilty Spark, where flood were introduced. A great storyline, more than 16 players for Big team online would make this game great. Also it would be good to see that gold armoured elite that becomes Arbiter in Halo 2 as the main villian since he was commander and all.

  • 10.09.2009 11:25 PM PDT

Excellent voting guys, i hope Bungie reads it's forums

  • 10.10.2009 1:12 PM PDT

Go Rams and Missouri!

I think with Halo 3 and ODST, they completely nailed the fun factor. There is not a boring moment. Now, they just need to lengthen the game and keep great action scenes.

  • 10.10.2009 1:17 PM PDT

Yup i agree that Bungie nailed the combat experience in both these games and all that's required is an increase to time in campaign

I think a substantial sized campaign for Reach would practically guarantee the best Halo yet as it's a given Bungie know their stuff in other areas

Taking the best from all Halo's is probably key though especially some of the level structuring from Halo1's vehicle to foot missions

  • 10.10.2009 1:23 PM PDT

I would like a longer game, but only if they can make decent levels for once. The Library, Data Hive, Cortana, coastal highway, Halo etc. It's like they just copy and paste the same bad section 20 times in a row.

[Edited on 10.10.2009 1:26 PM PDT]

I'm probably in a minority when i say i liked the Cortana and Library missions but they're actually very well done and an interesting departure

It's true though that if Bungie is slightly stingy this time with how many levels we have, we want them all to be as brilliant and as long as each other

The reason i don't play the Cortana mission is because of the constant freeze you to the spot interrupt cutscenes from Cortana and Gravemind - there are over at least 10 of these on this level and it's just about the most annoying inclusion in any game. You have to love Bungie's playtesting when it comes to this stuff

  • 10.10.2009 1:32 PM PDT

I'd like the campaign to be split in 2. The first half would be the Spartans' early years and missions. The other half should concentrate on the battle of Reach.

  • 10.10.2009 1:41 PM PDT

I'd rather they focus on making each level more enjoyable than trying to add more than they can handle.

The reason I didn't and probably a lot of other people didn't like The Library was because it was so repetitive.
