Glory and fame, blood is our name!
Souls full of thunder, hearts of steel!
Killers of men, a warrior's friend!
Sworn to avenge our fallen brothers!
Sons of the gods, today we shall die.
Open Valhalla's door!
Let the battle begin, with swords in the wind! Hail Gods of War!

As some know, The Arby we all know and hate was the commander of the Fleet that attacked Reach. So if Bungie is willing to give us insight into the Covenant's view of the battle, would it be likely to see the Gold-armored Elite?

True, but think of the fans' reception to that in Halo 2. IIRC, many people didn't like the transition, but realized that it was essential to Halo 3's story. It wouldn't make much sense to do it for Reach, because the story after the game is already set up.

I want another Covenant campaign so bad.. it added so much depth to the story and changed the way you view The Covenant forever. The understanding of their ways was essential to the amazing story. When people finished Halo 2 and were like "WTF WAS WITH THAT ENDING!?", all I could say was "Damn! Wasn't the moment where you first play as The Arbiter amazing?!". The ending didn't piss me off at all- infact, I cheered at the fact that more awesome Halo was coming for sure.

I will be very sad if there will be no Covenant side to the story in Campaign. I can understand if you don't play as T'hel Vadumee (the Arbiter to be), seeing as he is a shipmaster and would mostly (or completely) be operating from orbit.

Nihilism (from the Latin nihil, nothing) is a philosophical position that argues that existence is without objective meaning, purpose, or intrinsic value.

Put simply in the words of Nietzsche as "the will to nothingness".

No fraternizing with the enemy!

if anything it would probably just be a cameo of him, but i doubt we will be able to play as him although it would be cool to have another covie campaing

RIP Halo 2: November 9, 2004-May 10, 2010
I was the 2nd to last person to get kicked off Halo 2, see the thread Here

I hope we get to see him, it's definitely a possibility.

Why hello there.

We'll probably hear of him. He is the Leader of the Covenant Forces.

The Halo REACH Script (post thoughts in thread)

Writing Lead of Whisper Studios. Check out Heron!

Look... I'm on bungiepedia!

He wasn't THE commander, he was A commander at Reach.

In Halo 2 he says that he took "all ships under my command" to Alpha Halo early on in the battle of Reach, before the planet fell, and other ships remained behind to glass the world and search for the artifact.

It is likely that the commander of this fleet was Xytan 'Jar Wattinree, since it is his ship which has the NOVA from Reach in Ghosts of Onyx. Maybe he will be the main enemy in this game.

Were it so easy.

I hope so! Those levels in Halo 2 were my FAVORITE ones, and yes, more better than Spartan 117's IMO.

People either love it or hate it.

I loved it.

I love the entire Halo series, Halo 2 being my favorite of the games. I think that the universe is compelling and the story is deep, sweeping, and powerful. The hidden layers in the Halo trilogy and rich details of the backstory in the novels are something I love to be lost in, and im greatly looking forward to the story that Halo: Reach will weave. Bungie has carefully and lovingly crafted a mythic tale that will stay etched in my mind until the end.

It would be a bad mistake not to include the Covenant perspective in Halo Reach.

Halo 2 was split between the people who didnt like the Arbiter's story and people who loved it. I loved the Arbiter's story.

Bungie already catered to the fans who didnt like Arbiter's story by pushing Arbiter into the background of Halo 3, and taking out the Covenant perspective completely in Halo 3 ODST.

I think its only fair that Bungie caters to the Arbiter fans by including the Covenant perspective in Halo Reach somehow, for those who loved the story of Halo 2. I will be very disappointed if they dont, the Halo story needs some emotional oomph after ODST had such boring characters.

I agree entirely... even though I've never finished halo 2... mainly cause i have it for pc and want to get another xbox controller hooked up.... I did end up doing 1 or 2 levels as the arbiter and loved the fact that I wasnt forced to be master chief , I started with halo 3 (yes I know shame on me but Im young... didnt have an xbox before and rents didnt want me playing) anyways I loved using elites/the arbiter since the first time I played coop but I hated the fact that I could only use him when I had someone else and even then its not guaranteed who is gonna be who so while master chief starts with his cruddy br/ar arbiter gets an epic carbine/dual wieldable plasa rifle or in the case of cortana chief gets an ar/shotgun arbiter/all other elites get energy sword/carbine halo 2 you could just go to an arbiter level and play as him so yes I want a covenant campaign preferably as the arbiter.... or even crazier have like 4 different campaigns..... or even a mini game for 1, so have spartan campaign, elite campaign, brute campaign, and maybe a mini grunt campaign would be epic!
