Well, whatever Teamkill. The Gallery isn't the only place on Bungie.net. A fair few of my readers are from private groups. And I'm well known as a good theorist in the Universe forum; plus I hang around the Septagon every once in a while.

What I'm trying to say is that you don't need to write fan fiction to be a member of Bungie.net. Relax.

This.

Or you could just keep working, Teamkill. If your story is constantly updated, more people are bound to read it sooner or later. It really isn't a thing that comes after the first chapter, unless you're MaxRealFlugel or Wolverfrog. It takes a hellluva lot of time and effort to be noticed by the community at all.

Private groups always work too. Have you tried FanFicFactor and The Mirratord are both good groups for that.

Good luck,

~Murph~

James: Mia is on second page of this forum. Will of the Forerunners by I Luv 2 Teamkill, Wildfire of the Covenant by Prawn2Bwild, and others. those are the three names that come to mind. Three accounts, yes. Iv'e tried everything possible to get up there. Those three stories may be my best. I've showed my english teacher at school a NON-Fanfic and she said it was really good. My stories or anything i write never gets rejected to the school magazine, and my friend who is a writter (poet) (Brutally honest man by the way) thought the story i showed my teacher was really good to. I feel like they are good but nobody reads them. See thats why i get so pissed off. It's not that i want attention, I just really really like writing. I like to strike emotion into the hearts of people, but i can't if nobody reads it. (I also do acting for the same reason). I've just gotten so sick of it. No matter what i do, it never works. I mean i see Memoirs with 447 comments in mine with like, 20. Not very moralizing. Everyone says it takes time. It can't possibly take as long as i have been trying considering when i started, there were like 6 fanfics i saw regularly. Now i see em left and right. If i couldn't do it then how could i do it now? I saw a story with only like 20 comments on the most popular list and im like, WHAT THE -blam!-!!! Really. I make a fanfic, i have zero comments when a one made months ago just got 10 new ones. It's not the bungie comunity i wana be part of, -blam!- bungie. I just want to see how i make people feel with what i create.

No, acnboy. Spartain Ken 15 is a lesser being. Much like the bacteria that lives in your shit.

My shit bacteria takes offense to that comparison.

Don't make me lel. You won't like me when I lel.

The problem is that you made too many, dividing your audience too much, if I see a bunch of posts from the same authour, I'm not going to read them. If I see one, regularly updated story that's good I'll become a reader (this is how Wolverfrog, MaxRealFlugel and Sergeant Murph started!). If I am a reader of their story, and they make a new one, I will keep reading as long as it's good. You need to start wth one, focus on it, gather a reader base, THEN expand. Making 3 accounts and havng a bunch of different stories essentially made you destroy your own chances by dividing the target audience and drawing attention away from yourself. People are gonna read what is big, there is no doubt about that, many posts with small amounts of comments can bean indicator of quality, deserved or not.

/end rant

I never felt your plots were gripping or original enough, and you have a rather bland writing style which seems to try too hard to emulate Nylund.

But seriously though, being a known member of the community helps. If people see a theory of mine in the Universe, they'll sometimes see my signature with links to my fan fics, or use the search bar to see what else I post. If I'm active in a private group, I'll ask people to read. Heck, I've got about 10 readers for all my stories at the Halowars.com fan fiction forum. Branch out a bit more.

Wait.... is there really any point to writing FanFics? I mean I'm in the midst of writing one now, but what does posting a FanFic on Bungie even accomplish?? Will Frankie read it and be like "Holy crap, this should get published and put into the next game!" you know, i say frankie cuz he works at Microsoft and they control Halo now... anyways i guess i want to know if there would ever be any recognition for my efforts...

I write fan fictions because I enjoy it, and it hones my English skills sufficiently. Is there a point to it? I think so; allowing someone to escape into the world you've imagined for but a few minutes is wonderful in my opinion. But you have to enjoy writing, and I mean really enjoy it to feel like you're achieving something.

1. If that happened, I'd be giddy as a school girl.

2. That will never happen. EVER. Too much legal trouble, there.

Fanfictions are just downright fun to do if you've got a vast imagination and a lot of patience. If there will be recognition for your efforts, I cannot say. You have to make people say 'hey, that's (Blank)'s fanfiction! I'm going to read it!'

Also, you need an idea that appeals to the community. Fanfics about Spartans are a bit too common around these parts.

I saw a story with only like 20 comments on the most popular list and im like, WHAT THE -blam!-!!!

If you are talking about mine or the Diary of Survival, the number of comments does NOT play a roll early on after the thread's creation. The thread needs to be saved by a ton of people to make that list.

Eh, well i never thought about that. I don't even remember the way Nylund writes, im not imitating him, I can promise you that. As for the dryness, well i don't know what i can do about that. The plots, i actually thought they were allright. I mean i scrapped anything that i had seen done. I wrote one about an Elite who had lost his honor like months ago. I had never seen that done. I wrote one about three people escaping Harvest(is that the same as diary of survivale?) And i've honestly tried so manny new things. They don't catch. I have an idea. Make an account, but don't tell anyone that its you (except for me) Then start writing a fanfic on it, but continue to write your fanfics on your main account. Then see if your alternate account's fanfic gets comments. (Not meant to sound offensive)
