Subject: Clue on the Halo Reach teaser??

(Dont get on to me if i just noticed this) But on the Halo Rech trailer, behind the moon in the backround is a Halo ring. Does this mean we will have to worry about the Halo rings in Reach??

I don't know what you're talking about, I don't remember seeing that. But I do know that "The Fall of Reach" (the book I believe this game will be based on) is before the Halos were discovered.

Ever heard of a planet called Saturn?

The ring does not go in front of the planet at all, and the planet is not the color of Saturn.

With B.B. gone, the passion of Bungie.net has lessened.

The angle, brightness and color of the ring make that hard to see. It is definitely NOT a Halo ring, but a lunar/planetary one.

It looked nuthin like planetary rings. Like, When the trailer starts out, it'll say "From the beginning, you know the end". Then It'll show the planet with the guy giving status reports, then JUST before he say's "Multiple pings below the orbital grid", A ring shows up behind the moon in the backround right before the destruction on the planet is shown. It shows up RIGHT before the moon is blocked away.

That's just rings around the planet. The Halos aren't that big.

Reach isn't near Saturn - but its probably just orbiting ice and rock or whatever, similar to saturn

Go Rams and Missouri!

I don't remember a Halo ring being 200,000 miles off the surface of Reach (but I do remember a moon being there).

  • 10.10.2009 12:20 PM PDT

The ring looked JUST like the others from Halo 1 and 2. No planetary rings could look that artificial!

The stuff in the background is a moon, not a planet...
And when did Bungie say the trailer's planet was Reach? It could be Jericho IV for all we know.

Saturn is in our system. Not Reach's...
It dose not mkae any sence. Why would a halo ring be around a Moon in the first place. And second. Why would a halo ring be in the Reach system. They were not there. It is ither some effects gone wrong or Bungie is messing with us. Pluse, It is obvously a moon, No way two planets are that close and moons dont have rings, They are not big enough.

Planetary rings aren't behind planets or moons. Plus if it was a planetary ring it wouldn't be around the top of it like that because of gravitational pull and the spinning of the planet or moon. The planet/moon that is shown is also doesn't have enough mass to hold a planetary ring that is visible. That's why all the gas giants of our solar system rings and not our puny rock planets of the inner solar system. Know your astrology and physics guys.

Astrology is the study of celestial bodies and their positions in order to predict the future.

Anyway, back on the topic of the ring, I agree that it doesn't make much sense. It just cannot be a Halo ring, either. We'll just have to accept that the moon/planet has a ring of rocks, like Saturn.

Good eye but I don't think humans are that stupid that they can travel across the galaxy but not find a ring thats four feet in front of them. (not literally.)I going with the theory that it's a planetary ring like uranus's (hee hee). Oh and thats way to big to be a halo.

After look at it more I think it's neither I think it's the gas coming out of the planet. Look where the "ring" starts you'll see.

The body it is near is a moon, and the ring appears to be far away from it. Therefore, you failed at proving a point.
