How to spell "space"?

S-P-ACE! SPACE!

The ring is not scaled properly around the planet to be a planetary ring anyway.

I who walk alone in this world wrapped in the arms of the past not knowing what lies ahead of me. What am I? A soulless being to be beaten by the rage of those who hate me? Cutting my way past hopes and dreams. Sit in the window sill as I do every day and night resignations on my slate of who I am and what is left behind. Concealed in the words that chases my every thought. I who walk alone in this world…I am broken

EDIT: DAMN! Nice eye, dude! I looked, and could see the ring!

Good eye but I don't think humans are that stupid that they can travel across the galaxy but not find a ring thats four feet in front of them. (not literally.)I going with the theory that it's a planetary ring like uranus's (hee hee). Oh and thats way to big to be a halo.

The body it is near is a moon, and the ring appears to be far away from it. Therefore, you failed at proving a point.
Alright genius explain why the UNSC's top Military outpost/Training camp couldn't find an artificial planet just a stones throw away from where they are. You failed at proving your point and it seems you didn't even think about your point.

Why would there a Halo that close to Reach? It doesn't make sense at all with the story. And yes it is Reach, in the trailer you are hearing transmissions from the Reach com systems.

By the power of truth, I, while living, have conquered the universe.

To those of you who think it's a Halo Ring, you're the most confounded morons I've ever known.

Did you not think that if there was a Halo practically next to Reach, the book may have touched on that?
And the person who said "ever heard of Saturn" is being sarcastic.

The 'ring' around the planet is a moon, not a Halo.

What's the point of the planet being Jericho VII when the game is about Reach? Also, the whole trailer is pointing at Reach and you can see the Epsilon Eridani system towards the end of the trailer.

Jericho VII is only sparsely populated by the UNSC anyway. The planet has 4 moons going round it and the human inhabitants are confined to a large biosphere, something not at all visible in the Halo: Reach trailer.

it's just planetary rings. really. they are faint, much like Jupiter's rings, or Neptune's. they are there, but you can barely see them. they are even difficult to tell they go around the planet even. look closer though. that ring definatly goes all the way around.

Warning: You may find that my, or someone else's opinion does not comply with yours. Side effects of disagreement may include (but are not limited to): flaming, irrational behavior, broken keyboards, and/or nervous sweats. If you experience any of these symptoms refrain from communicating with others until the symptoms have subsided.

I noticed this when I watched the Trailer too. But after further examination... well actually, I still don't know. But if you want to check out my shots you can check them out here.

Yeah, but I think it looks like a ring.

Armor Lock isn't overpowered. You just suck at Reach :)

Reach isn't bad, you're just a BK :)

For my gamertag, look up "Ghoulishtie"

Sorry, that's not a halo.

Again, no way does planetary rings look that artificial! Even if it was a moon, when have you heard of a moon with planetary rings?

(Sorry just got back from my TTU game)

I like to derp and stuff. I have a YouTube channel~

Derp

I don't know about planetary rings and all that, but it's way too big to be a Halo.

  • 10.10.2009 8:06 PM PDT

It wont make a difference. The storyline would have the same length anyway :)

  • 10.10.2009 8:08 PM PDT

I think it IS a halo, but I think that it's more symbolic than anything. Notice how the ring is in the backround? That may be because the rings usually symbolize death and this may mean coming disaster as we know that reach will fall, this sounds like a pretty good guess. (If that was confusing, sorry. I mean to say it says there is danger coming.) This could also mean that the events of Halo:CE are coming.

Do all ODST games contain the halo reach beta? Regardless whether or not it is stated on the game cover?

Thanks,

  • 10.10.2009 8:17 PM PDT

here we go again. we blow up a ring and make a cliched yet epic escape. the covenent sneak on your escape ship and then spawn another covie army, or something dumb

Yes.

To OP: It is a planetary ring. Rings can spread in any direction, at any angle, and in any size. Halo rings do not orbit planets and are nowhere near Reach!

I just did a bit of experimenting in GIMP to come to much the same conclusion as you. On the one hand, simplest explanation is that it's planetary and just an optical illusion, however, it's hard to shift the perception that it's structural rather than amalgamated debris.

You can see the stars through it, but the stars could be lights on the array. Looks like it's got a "side" and a "back", but that could just be the colouring of the planetary rings.

How vexaciously inconclusive!

Ok...
1. In the end of Halo 2, when you finally beat the brute chieftain, the moniter dispays a hologram of all the Halos spread throughout the galaxy. They were all in differernt sizes, so it could be smaller or twice the size of the Halo 1 and 2 rings.

2. If Halos can destroy the galaxy, then they should have the ability to jump from place to place, with or without notice.

3. Bungie never confirmed if this game was all about Reach or based on the book "Fall of Reach". It could be Jericho VII for all we know, whoever said that.

But point being proven, it's a Halo ring.
