Good eye but I don't think humans are that stupid that they can travel across the galaxy but not find a ring thats four feet in front of them. (not literally.)I going with the theory that it's a planetary ring like uranus's (hee hee). Oh and thats way to big to be a halo.
The body it is near is a moon, and the ring appears to be far away from it. Therefore, you failed at proving a point.Alright genius explain why the UNSC's top Military outpost/Training camp couldn't find an artificial planet just a stones throw away from where they are. You failed at proving your point and it seems you didn't even think about your point.
Ok...
1. In the end of Halo 2, when you finally beat the brute chieftain, the moniter dispays a hologram of all the Halos spread throughout the galaxy. They were all in differernt sizes, so it could be smaller or twice the size of the Halo 1 and 2 rings.
2. If Halos can destroy the galaxy, then they should have the ability to jump from place to place, with or without notice.
3. Bungie never confirmed if this game was all about Reach or based on the book "Fall of Reach". It could be Jericho VII for all we know, whoever said that.
But point being proven, it's a Halo ring.
