Bungie said they are considering using Natal as an option for Reach, but it won't be required. So you can use a controller too.

Awsome, bungie will probably make some awsome actions with the natal! If Reach will use Natal then I will buy it!

It might have some Natal functionality, but it won't be a requirement.

No, Microsoft said that with the release of Natal they will (after a while) release a new 360 that has Natal built in already. And they hope that it should raise the Xbox 360's lifespan up to 10 years instead of the 6 that people are getting used to now.

Hm, i better start saving some money then... I hope that reach will have an alternative Natal use!

I imagine the stuff it'll do won't be as simple as replacing commands. It'd be more akin to letting you pull up a tac map to send a squad of marines to a specific location. Voice commands to do the same. Let you scan your own face onto your spartan.

Of course not saying it'll be any of these speciic examples. But I presume it'll be more along these lines then 'if you punch in real life you punch in the game'.

The anticipation of death is worse than death itself.

ive heard a lot about how people dont want to buy natal because theyll have to move. i think this is a lame excuse, unless they work hard everyday or theyre an athlete or something.

i dont think you have anything to worry about though. I dont think natal will be used in REACH unless they want to use REACH to showcase it.

I don't want to buy Natal because I know it wont work right. If it ever does work right it wont be until at least a year after it launches.

This is also the reason I don't think Reach will use Natal at all.

Hopefully it won't be.

-blam!- Was that actually blammed out? Or did I just type it? You'll never know.

Maybe. I don't think so. But it would make Microsoft and Bungie money if it was. But if it was then I wouldn't be buying the game, regardless of whether or not Natal was mandatory or optional. Undoubtedly there'd be extra features and more content for Natal users and restrictions for non-Natal users.

Project Natal is kind of lame. If you want gaming that makes you feel like your in the game, give it about another 40-80 years and just plug a cable into your head and it'll be like the Matrix pretty much. Feel 100% real, without the effect of you dying for reals of course.

It's probably possible they could make Reach Natal capable, but they wouldn't take away the controller support, or many would not buy it.

Corn, Oil, and Wine... We need more wine...

I hope not, I wont spend 260$ for Reach... 60$-Game, and with the way microsoft is, 200$ for NATAL...

or is handicapped (me, as an example)

as long as it's optional and doesn't give a severe disadvantage to non natal users i'll be fine with it.

  • 10.11.2009 9:39 AM PDT

It will not be used in actual gameplay scenarios

  • 10.11.2009 9:49 AM PDT

It would be ironic if REACH was a motion-sensitive game...
