I was just recently forging an infection map, when it made me wounder. What if I could combine 2 game modes(such as infection and vip) to make an infection game where the suvivors have some kind of objective.
Would anyone else like a feature to combine traits from 2 (or more) game modes in Reach?


Here are some examples:

Assasination (Vip / Assault)
Every body loses (KOTH / Assault) :P
Escape (Vip / Infection)
Liberation (CTF / Teritories)
Get off my property (KOTH / Infection) :D

Update:

Body gaurd (Vip / Infection)
one guy is special, and there are ton of zombies and the humans need to defend this special person

(Slayer / CTF)
Ctf that tracks your kills and you could win by kills or Flag Capture

-Escort: A scientist has found a way of curing Flood victims. Protect him while he gets to the extraction point. (Infection/VIP)
-Raid: You must plant a bomb and destroy the door to your enemy's base, then retrieve the data inside and get it back to your base. (Assault/CTF


I think this would probably be the best layout for the game type settings.
Game settings:
- Gametypes
- Infection, Assault, etc. = Toggle each one, on/off.
- Gametype Settings = Sub menus for editing each gametype.

Assasination: Only the VIP could have the bomb.

Escape: Add Assault to it as well - so the VIP has to transport the bomb/Intel to a point without getting infected if the VIP gets infected a new person is made VIP insted of the game ending.

Libaration: Each team has 3-7 Non respawning flags on there side, First team to lose all of there flags loses.

Sounds like it might be a bit confusing at times. I think the Killzone 2 Approach is better where the gametypes don't overlap but rather change dynamically over the course of the match.

I was thinking that the suvivors would be VIPs and would fight their way through zombies to get to an evauation point. But I like where you're going.

Territories/CTF


2 permanent territories for each team (unless all others are captured by one team)

and each team has to get the other team's flag back to their base (if their base is captured, they already lose)

Each new territory for a team would allow them to spawn in that area

For the CTF/Slayer one, first to 100, 1 point for a kill, 10 for a flag capture.

1 sided territories/Assault

Red team start off controlling all the territories and have to defend them all. Instead of trying to capture them, blue team have to blow all the territories up. Then in the next round, it is the other way round.

People have kinda done something like this with Slayer KOTH. Its a slayer game, but the hill exists to modify the game in some form, either to force people to stay within the map boundries, or to make them jump higher in a certain area of the map.

What they should do is include forgeable "areas of effect" where you can make a box or a cylinder of effect where some variable is changed. For example, if I wanted to make a map with "lava" I could make areas of effect where you take damage while you fall inside of them.

In forge you would probably have an all game modes game type for seting the goals, so making areas of effect should not be too hard.

I believe that you can do most of these already. Like you can have a game be Capture the Flag but have kills be worth points along with flag caps.

I made a custom game in CE PC called Storm. It has one base with a flag, standard Warthogs and rocket Warthogs, too. The attacker gets one Scorpion and two Ghosts.The attacker needs to get the flag back to base five times to win in a fifteen-minute time limit. So far, me and my friends have had a good time with it, but I could refine it a little to suit general needs.

I always thought this should have been included in Halo 3.
Edit: Just cause I have some time, here's a couple I made up:
-Retrieval: You and the rest of the survivors must hold out and wait for a Pelican to retrieve you from the flood infected landscape. If everyone moves outside of the beacon, all is lost. (Infection/KOTH)

I would love to be able to combine slayer with CTF, territories, or bomb. I'm tired of wandering aimlessly around the map for enemies in slayer. By creating "objectives", you could have a much more interesting battle.

Imagine you were playing Flag Slayer. You are fighting off enemies when all the sudden your flag is stolen. Immediately both teams begin to focus on the flag as a battle ground. This would allow players to set of choke points and ambushes further on, while still preserving that "slayer" feel.
