Subject: I don't think that's a planet behind them in the banner.

-blam!- Was that actually blammed out? Or did I just type it? You'll never know.

It looks more like a landscape to me. If you look at the bottom of it as if it were ground level, then it seems as if you're looking onto the horizon with rising mountains and clouds and the sun just coming up. It seems like it could be the reflection of a landscape in a visor, and that's why the rest is black. Just a thought, probably just me being crazy.

There is an idea of a Ygidorp, some kind of abstraction, but there is no real me, only an entity, something illusory, and though I can hide my cold gaze and you can shake my hand and feel flesh gripping you and maybe you can even sense our lifestyles are probably comparable: I simply am not there.

maybe. the three "cloud looking" things could possibly be ships also. kinda looks like it.

You're just going crazy...

Seems like it. But I believe the black is suppose to be space. The orange background is a planet with a landscape style in it. Considering the mountains and all that.

I see the three spots that look a lot like Covenant Capital ships. But the background is definitely a planet of some origin.

Woah, you're right! Like the black thing is simply there and the orange is the sky!

Those black things are ships: Proof.. And if you look below the arrow, the background of mountains can be seen. So in most sense, the OP is right, but its also suppose to be taken as a planet.

Yes it is spelt like that on purpose.

Huh I never looked at it like that, good thinking outside the box.

Its a stylization, so basically its both Reach the planet, and a landscape highlighting the spartans with an orange sky. see the dark spots across the planets bottom kind of look like mountains? kudos to whoever at bungie designed the dual image

  • 10.11.2009 10:17 AM PDT

You can see mountains and govi ships. I think it is a planet but it is also a landscape, Just like a miral. I has the round planet witch is supose ot represent reach, Then the landscape and then the group of spartans or whatever they are. It a bunch of thigs in one. Planet, Landscape and charicters.

And no offence to the people who are like "wow, Never saw that your amazing for finding this"
but are you blind? I and other people saw this the day it came out...

I am a work in progress...

Very Nice Find now that I look at it like that it makes perfect sense.

  • 10.11.2009 10:35 AM PDT

Uhhhhh

It's Reach

  • 10.11.2009 10:39 AM PDT

it looks like a landscape yea, but it could also be a planet because the banner is more like a collage

RIP Halo 2: November 9, 2004-May 10, 2010
I was the 2nd to last person to get kicked off Halo 2, see the thread Here

It's a possibility, but who knows for sure.

ummm, dont quote me on this but

*SPOILER WARNING*

wasn't the crux of one of the novels that they went to some shield world? it was like a planet but inside out.

i dont have the book anymore as my sisters ex-boyfriend stole it from me. i think it was ghosts of onyx

EDIT: only saying this because the perspective and shape of the horizon makes it look like they are in a ball.

That would be Halo Wars, with the Sheild world.

"Am I the only one freaked out by the fact that we're inside the planet?!"
-Serena: AI, Spirit of Fire

The Forerunner seem to have a knack for building weird metal inside-out planets (Halo, Shield World, Ark)

Perception is everything.

I think you are right and wrong. It's a landscape like you said, but it's in the shape of a planet on purpose.

  • 10.11.2009 1:15 PM PDT

You could say that but to me it's a planet because moutains are bumpy and they are smooth but nice thinking.

No, he was talking about the halo novel called Ghost of Onyx, which was about a shield world, not of Halo Wars.
