In the current games you can shot someone in the arm twice and they die. Why not having that arm disabeld and notable to use that arm until you pickup a health pack. Or if u are shot in the leg you start to limp.

On your HUD you will have a body display of your self and when shot and a certain body part will red if badly damegd, orange if it is still functional but it will have deffects and green for normal. Now let's say the person has a shotgun and shots another person with it and more than half there bey turns orange they die.

Please no flaming, post comments or constructive critism.

Because we don't want halo to turn into GOW.

How is this anything like gears of war, they don't have this, the health system in that game is your screen gets red.

What a terrible idea.

So it would be kinda like Fallout 3? I don't want health packs n this game, so I'm opposed to this idea.

Here’s what Luke had to say about the differences in treatment between the Spartans and Elites in Reach:

“Instead of piece-by-piece customization like the Spartans, Elite customization is a full model swap with models selected from the various Elite classes appearing throughout the Campaign. There are all kinds of reasons for this, not the least of which is our continued emphasis on the Spartan as your identity in Reach.”

I wouldn't mind location based effects on player performance.

For example, if you get shot in the leg when your shields are down, you would move at a slower rate until your health regenerated.

Getting shot in the arm would increase reload time and reduce melee power

Getting shot in the head would reduce accuracy.

Either way, it would be an interesting mechanic, especially if you could turn it on and off.

And I don't think any other game has done this. Maybe Fallout 3, but I doubt in a multiplayer setting.

In campaign I'd like to see back the healthpack and falldamage, but not in Multiplayer.

and arm/leg disablement isn't really what fits for halo.

there is acually a game called "Section 8" with that heath system. try the demo its awesome

but any way if Bungie going to pit in an intricate health and armor system like that in halo they might as well make a system where 1 bullet kills you if it penetrates you armor. and all the armor plates either deflect, stop, or fail to stop the bullet, shrapnel, plasma, or laser

Stuff like that works in games about immersion like fallout or far cry 2. But halo is more about fast and consistent gameplay, it just doesn't fit in both multiplayer and single player.

Section 8 does use that exact same health system.
I am not against that in anyway.
Although I am going to say Bungie are more likely to go for originallity.

Yes section 8 is a good example and it works well. Health packs will be in the game because it is before CE and CE had them.
