Subject: Should Halo Reach be Gory like Gears of War 2?

Posted by: Sam Les Paul
This includes dismemberment. And you could turn it off at the pause menu if need be. I think it would be cool. I wanna shoot a brute's head off. lol
Gears of War gore does not fit the Halo gore, the books even had gore that was pretty brutal but it was not often at all

but realistic
Realistic fiction?

Were talking about gore, and in the year 2550 something I'm sure we could alter a humans body enough to be a super human, as far forerunner and covies yeah its fiction lol

It's "We're" and gore doesn't exactly fit into the Halo universe that well or at least in the games..

  • 10.11.2009 5:12 PM PDT

We could, but they won't, you know why? Becuase it's fine the way it is, Halo doesn't need to be like GoW and have grututious amounts of gore to appeal to everyone. No one's really said in multiplayer or single-player, "OMG BuNgIe Suxxors for not Having Gore In There geams!"

Besides, we can already shoot limbs off of The Flood.

I don't really care about the gore on Gears. It is unrealisticly insane amount.

LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL!!!!!!!!!!111one!!11!!

No, then its not Halo

we don't need the dismemberment, it would break the feel of the game, you can already shoot limbs off flood if you really want to.

They actually were working on having dismemberment in Halo 3. It shows demos of it in the Ltd. Edition. Youtube it. Like in Sierra 117, when you see the Brute leader hacking a Marine with a spiker, the marine was supposed to be cut in half

Personally I think halo needs another level of realism added to the game, it will be a late 2010 release and I think they need to take advantage of this and build on what is currently on the market. Now that your not a spartan, i see no reason for some limbs to be flying off or something along that lines.

Plekpedia - The most epic site in the history of ever.

Absolutely not.

Big Team Battle Multiflag/Slayer on Standoff/Valhalla/Sandtrap/Avalanche = Win

Armor Damage like in the Halo 3 Beta would be nice, but right now, I think the gore is fine. I don't play halo to see marines get popped by Jackals.

...And when i am standing there, watching as the slingshot is cranked back into the shadows, a smile will bestow upon my face as I softly whisper one word..."blam...."

Check out my Youtube Channel!

yes it would be way more relistic and people who play Cod say that because there isnt anything like that in halo that its dumb

Here’s what Luke had to say about the differences in treatment between the Spartans and Elites in Reach:

“Instead of piece-by-piece customization like the Spartans, Elite customization is a full model swap with models selected from the various Elite classes appearing throughout the Campaign. There are all kinds of reasons for this, not the least of which is our continued emphasis on the Spartan as your identity in Reach.”

I'd rather they focus on important features instead of features that aren't needed.
Like AI
Graphics
Gameplay Balance
Weapon Balance
Physics refinement
A good campaign
Spikers

"We Spartans know only one thing in battle. . .To Survive!"

I thinl it should be a Mature rated game to keep the kids from going crazy like all the teens that killed people cause " games told them its ok to ci\ommit murder "

  • 10.11.2009 7:15 PM PDT

If Bungie has time to make the game gory, I'm for it. I could see it now in Campaign. A marine talking to a Spartan(you) and bam, his head was just half melted away from a Beam Rifle.

Stop PMing me if you are group recruiting.

Only some gore like seeing bullet holes in a person's body or a cut from the Energy Blade or Brute weapons if they are implemented.

Nothing too extreme... except suicide Grunts, I want to see a bloody Grunt stain were they blew up. That'd be kewl.

agreed, I want a good amount of blood, but not gore.
Just have blood that splatters on walls/ground, but don't make it practically nonexistent like halo 3...

  • 10.11.2009 8:14 PM PDT

Maybe you could get a skull to have lots of blood and gore. Like the Bloody Mess perk in Fallout. There, then everyone would be happy.

  • 10.11.2009 8:34 PM PDT

i think it should be a game for everyone like if u could set the gore level like if it was kid friendly or for sick bastards only =)

every feature is important

I don't think so. I mean, a little more wouldn't hurt, but I don't think we need Spartans chainsawing people in two.

BUT I do want more bang when I hit someone with the Spartan Laser.

every feature is important

Gore takes a backseat to things like AI, map design, and the Campaign.

Glory and fame, blood is our name!
Souls full of thunder, hearts of steel!
Killers of men, a warrior's friend!
Sworn to avenge our fallen brothers!
Sons of the gods, today we shall die.
Open Valhalla's door!
Let the battle begin, with swords in the wind! Hail Gods of War!

God, yes! Halo needs more gore. Since we won't be fighting the Flood (again) Halo needs to redeem it's M rating. I wanna see dismemberment! I wanna see guts and brains on the windshield of my good ol' faithful 'Hog! I wanna see Grunts suffocating when I tear off their Methane tanks!

Step it up, Bungie.
