obviously bungie has had to balance out weapons between games, so if the energy sword and rockets are back in Reach, don't expect them to be like how they were in Halo 2. Bungie balanced those out, and they ain't taking them back. I would imagine the spartan laser and missle pod would be in matchmaking, unless Reach's matchmaking is strictly to the Reach era, which in that case would mean the BR wouldn't be in either.
My opinion? I don't want the spartan laser in. As much fun as it was owning wraiths in halo 3 and odst, in matchmaking i hated it when people would use it on people instead of vehicles--I just didn't think it was fair. It's almost like the noob combo, which requires little skill. At least the sniper requires skill for a one shot kill, and so does the rocket launcher, even at a close distance. But with this laser you can score so many kills with one hit, and i just think people were camping it.
EDIT: due to my current state of laziness, i will not quote the person who said "Multiplayer is non-canon" (whoops i just did--old fashioned quotes ftw!)...those aren't the exact words but that's what they meant. This statement negates my theory stated above, which i mainly meant for the campaign. But since the spartan laser is a new halo weapon, it is in halo. Just as the spartan laser is in ODST, even though it takes place during Halo 2
