Hey, to anyone reading this you can stop stalking me!

Just kidding, anyways I'm Kareem, mostly play Halo all day, live in MTL, and if I'm not on my 360 you can probably find me on Halosocial.net, on the MLG forums, or on some basketball court.

If you wanna message me, either send me something here, or send me an email at : K_baller8@hotmail.com.

This is something I am guessing most of the commmunity wants, dedicated servers instead of a host for online games. Anyone else agree?

Agreed, I don't like laggy hosts...My games don't need to be hosted by someone on the other side of the earth...

I agree 100%. Freaking getting disconnected for like 20 seconds because somebody quits out or lagging like crazy because the hosts lags is so freaking annoying. I also hate that when you are the host you can do something on a laptop that can boot the other team and make you instantly win. This is so freaking annoying. People will never own up to the responsibility of being a good host when they know they can do things that will cause them to win. It also lags really bad when you play somebody in a different continent. Host them yourself. You are a multi-billion dollar company and you can afford to host a few measly servers for your loyal community.

I still love you though Bungie :). I just don't like those things. It's the people I'm ranting at, not you.

Finding and honestly deep though on The Flood is like finding an angler fish in the shallows of Lake Dumbass.

Having sex with a girl on her period is like taping a knife to your -blam!- and repeatedly slamming it into a small defenseless furry land creature. But man its good right? Just make sure you soak yourself in bleach afterwards to get out the blood stains and dead half-born child off the back of your thigh.

If you don't know who I am, the feeling is mutual.

Since Bungie is it's own company now, not controlled by a huge corporation like Microsoft, Activision, or EA, wouldn't building huge servers for a massively popular game like Halo be expensive and hard to accomplish? I mean, I'm not even sure if CoD games have servers. Actually, no they don't. The host leaves, and the game is done.

Not for Modern Warfare 2, they have Host Migration, which pauses the game for about 10-15 seconds and establishes a new host. Its in one of their game play videos. But Halo 3 already has a Host migration, so Reach is definitely going to have one.

so you want us to pay a monthly fee for halo as well as xbox live annual fee? um NTY if i were going to pay a monthly fee i would just play WoW... more bang for my buck. I like the Xbox live online bundle idea where i pay one annual fee and get all online games for free!!!

Bye.

I remember reading on the site somwhere that J O'Than said;
"Dedicated servers would cause incredibly bad lag, for those leiving further from the Servers"

And seeing how bungie is an independent and relativley small company, they couldn'put much money into servers in america, much less in europe, asia and australia.

You guys do realize they don't have to build the servers. They can build the software for the servers and then after that all they have to do is rent out a hosting place. There are so many companies that host their servers like that. They don't have to pay for all of that hardware. Plus, they make so much money anyways it shouldn't make a bit of a difference.

I'm just a guy like you that plays halo.

It would be nice but i'm guessing it would cost more and i would rather see that money go towards the game itself.

For every action, there is an equal and opposite airstrike.

Gentlemen, I present, X Server.

This technology is used within a game called Section 8. It allows XBL players to connect to a dedicated PC running as a X Server, and allow for little latency and much larger games, boosting the player count from 8 or 16, to 32 players. I can assure you the 32p servers are very nice to play on.

I don't see whay this wouldn't be present in Halo Reach.

EDIT: I should also note the official Section 8 servers are free to connect to, and it's possible for anyone to make one of their own.
