Subject: A Solution For Elites (and Brutes?) In Multiplayer

I hunt for the Prophet of Contentment, the San 'Shyumm that murdered my son, and stole his birthright, his Energy Sword. They call our species Heretics. They claim to all that our tongues sting, our words a vile poison that feeds on the unworthy. I have seen the true face of Heresy. The head of a gallant warrior lay on the ground. His neck scorched and blistered, scarred by his own blade. I shall retrieve the weapon, and drive it through that bastard's heart! Punishment for his sins is nigh.

ur saying you want to make the already impossible enemy to hit in SWAT (elite) even smaller? My solution is take them out.

Quit complaining. The size of the hitbox is no different, you just suck.

Dunno, I mostly play against Elites and I find them equal, maybe your only problem is that you don't play them enough Sun... Mind you, could also be that shiny bird, as opposed to your 3 stars.

You don't stand a chance against m-AAAAHHHHHH!!!!

Both of you, just SHUT UP!

I don't care what rank you are, I'm Major Grade 2 and I consider myself pretty good, but a recruit and a couple of Privates have been able to take me easily more than once before.

Anyways, way off topic, go open a new thread/forum and discuss this elsewhere.

Thanks,
DARKRISER 1080

Now, onto my ON TOPIC post.

The reason Elites are "hunched over" is because their armour is so heavy, just read the books, on their planet they still have clans and have no shields, only really heavy armour plating.

Saying all this, I still agree that the Halo 2 Elites' posture looks arguably better than in H3, which one of the two reasons I am a SPARTAN:

1. Posture
2. SPARTANs have a WAY better selection of Armour parts (Ex: SPARTANS have around 11 helmets, Elites have 5).

I have read the books, and the Armor has no effect on Elite Posture. They do wear robes and whatnot, but it has nothing to do with why they hunch down, it was ONLY added for balance, and I really think that it is fine, it ONLY needs to be thinned out a little for a more Halo CE/2 elegance.

You watch... Stosh will probably bring up some idea of incorporating ODSTs (pretty much the smallest of all characters next to Grunts and Jackals) and then the hitbox problem will be blamed on ODSTs, not the Elites.

XD

Actually, the average human being is 5'10" Which is SHORTER than the average Jackal, which is around 6'3"

Humans are actually bigger than Jackals, Kig-Yar are so slim. Plus they bend their legs and backs so much to hid behind those tiny shields.

I'm pretty sure the size difference is only that the Jackals wear less armor. And humans could make themselves smaller to hide behind shields too so you know.

RANKS DON'T MATTER WERE IN A FORUM NOT A BATTLE.

anyway moving on cause that's completely irrelevant. I would enjoy if they kept differences in races because it would give different advantages to different races. If you were to find you like elite advantages as apposed to those of a spartan then be and elite as long as they balance them and give different advantages to each at least I don't feel it matters maybe other people do and if you do id like to hear why.

Please use proper punctuation, I'm sick and I found that quite difficult to read.

I don't think there will be brutes in Reach,it's a prequal. Brutes weren't even propely introduced until Halo 2.

ALAN IS A BEAUTIFUL MAN!

i just like it as it is, the elites from halo 3 look wicked compared to halo 2

Yeah, the better quality does make them look cooler, but I think they should show their height a little more.

After all, since Brutes were only discovered by the Covenant after Halo 2 ended, it's only fair that the Elites get to shine once more.

Heck, they were already DEAD in ODST! And look at 'em! Even in death are their spines curled!

Umm... I'm not so sure I want that, dead bodies and body parts rolling around the map and landing on someone's head down below...

They'd be pretty good in Infection, but they're too slow and venerable (no shields for most forms) to be of any good in any other gametype.

I was just saying, in terms of actual mass Humans are bigger than Jackals despite Jackals being taller when standing straight.

If Bungie can't make player models 100% equal then take them out and just have spartans. In Halo 1 there wasn't a problem with player models because there was just one model and kept it simple. In Halo 2 the elites died extremely easily, and in Halo 3 they have a slight advantage to headshots, which is why they are used in SWAT.

And then they were fleshed out big-time in the prequel Contact Harvest. Prequel has nothing to do with whether there will be Brutes or not.

Plus it seems like a little retconning will make it so that the Brutes were seen throughout the way, maybe not commonly but not unheard of.

I can't wait to see Aliens Vs. Predator's multiplayer where there are three different species.

If Bungie makes all player models 100% equal there's no point of having them. If they make a skinny and short Brute with weak melees and health... it's not a Brute.

Bungie should add Brutes, Hunters, Grunts... as they are. But gametypes could be locked for Spartans or Grunts...

Signatures are for squares.

Spartans are actually shorter in their Mark V armor.

Mark V - Chief was 6 ft.
Mark VI - Chief is magically 7ft.

There is a point, it's for a cosmetic change. Playing a grunts or hunters is a horrible idea. Would you want to die in one shot while others might have to take 2-3 rockets just to die?

Gameplay over cosmetics. The time Bungie spends on balancing the Brute (making a spartan with Brute skin) for multiplayer could be a lot better spent imo.

Your example is a bit narrow. What if I played a match of 8 Grunts against 1 Hunter? 3 Brutes and 5 Jackals against 2 Spartans? 2 Elites and 2 Hunters against 4 Brutes and 4 Grunts? Or even just a Grunt vs Grunt vs Grunt match.
It might not be fair or balanced, but it would probably be damn fun with the right rules. The race I choose would actually matter gameplaywise.

I already have tons of race-specific maps and gametypes, but just being a Spartan or an Elite makes them not as fun as they could be. Grunt is just a slower Spartan with less health and a plasmapistol, and because the rules are universal everyone has to be a "Grunt"
