I dont know about everybody else, but i've been a bungie fan since the first marathon release for the old mac performa...doesnt anyone else think it would be cool if bungie redid marathon??? Everyone may hate me for saying this...but I've yet to play a fps that had a better story line then marathon, including halo. I would give...well, i cant say that on the forums...but i would give the left one if they redid that masterpiece of a game.

You don't know very much about Bungie, then.

Halo and Halo 2 wouldn't be what they are if it weren't for the Marathon trilogy. And I tend to agree with the first post in this thread, the Marathon trilogy makes for the best fps's I've ever played.

Arg.... but it did... Your lack of knowledge is frustrating... If you have paid attention at all to PC gaming in the past, you would've heard about it.

Typical ignorance... I never got to play the game. I didn't have a Mac either, but a couple weeks ago I downloaded the Marathon 2 demo and I enjoyed it.

the game was true bungie genius, as were the other two installments. it kicked the pants off of doom...all us mac junkies were in heaven during the days of marathon multiplayer.

I wasn't alluding to myself having ignorance, I was referring to Thwack.

Personally, I think that a Marathon remake would be absolutely awesome. That would bring back so much nostalgia, and so many happy memories of pounding pitiful Pfhor fighters into dust with just your fists on the first level.

Yo, jumpmaster. If you want to play the Marathon games, go here: source.bungie.org and search the Marathon forums: forums.bungie.org/story and search M1A1

Marathon is my favourite game by a mile with its truly mind numbing story, aliens that made the covenant look like five jawed Teletubbies and AI's so sweet that they make Cortana seem like some protitute who fell into a vat of Ribena.

I have loved Bungie ever since Pathways into Darkness and Marathon is still the best Bungie game so far (Halo 2??) If Marathon were to be redone, I would rejoice and praise the Gods that haunt me on this little island.

Apart from having wonderful sex with Britney, a remake of Marathon is the only thing I fantasize about.

I'm not sad, honest!!!

Marathon was the best game. I started with Marathon 2 when I was (thinking) 8? It scared me(the second level especially, but I eventual got back to it. As for AI's, I respect them after working with Durandal (sp?). He has very little regard for human life expect were it is useful. He would tare Cortana apart and eat her code for breakfast. I doubt the Monitor would have been a problem with Durandal around. Durandal is not sweet, and nearly immortal. You can't kill the guy no mater how many times you blow up his core memory, I know. You do it twice in Marathon 2 and Inf. Tyco there's another scary AI, he works for the aliens and likes it.

I thought Bungie gave up it's license on Marathon and made it opened sourced. So it seems unlikely that there will be a good remake anytime soon. Especially using Halo or Halo 2 engine. Isn't there a company of Bungie spin off employes who have access to the Halo engine?

I have never played Marathon because I don't have a Mac. I would truly love to play it. Maybe it would be cool if they re-configured the controls to fit the Xbox and put the whole Trilogy as an unlockable in Halo 2, or just re-configured th controls and made it an Xbox game. I'm not asking for better graphics or anything.

Yes, infact. But I don't think that there are any other ex-Bungie employees beside the Founder, who is the original Co-Founder of Bungie. The company is called Wideload games.
