Dude I have a nasty feeling that your ranking system would only serve to encourage campers, which would suck.

Doc: "i'm a pacifist"
Caboose: "your a thing that babies suck on?"
Tucker: "no dude, that's a pedephile"
Church: "tucker, i think he means a pacifier"

Very true, it caters to the BR generation of Halo players that prefer to spawn trap/camp and just camp firing lanes. I understand that some enjoy this but it makes for some seriously weak gameplay.

I'm xAssault12x, and I love the Halo Universe. Discussion please!

Campers would not get a bonus from this unles they ended up winning and being among the top people with kills or objective score. Camping gets you neither.

-I was here

one problem, say you lag out and do horrible in one or two games... in your system, you'd lose experience, even if your team wins...

You might loose points or experience but unless you are right around the requirments for a level then you will not loose your rank. Also, it is much easier to get points then it is to loose them. I have some ideas that I will put in tomorrow. I think it will clarify some things. Check it tomorrow night.

I speak the truth, and truth speaks itself.
The lies disguise what you despise.
Run. Flee and be, what you've always dreamed.
What happens now won't matter later.
What you see will not be, nor what you imagine will not happen.
The end is close, so take your dose.

All of the above: No.

None of the posted sounds good.

It should be a % based. About 2% of players will reach level 50 etc.

First play around 10 matches without ranking, then give a rank that changes. At first it might be a bit off, but with time it becomes more accurate.

I think they did something like that in Halo 2, but it just ended up matching the small number of 50s with lower level 40s by a huge gap. Not to mention the boosting and stuff made obtaining a 50 quite unfair.

Honestly I believe the system would support stat whoring and no team play
you would have kids camp and try to get 20 kills to get to the next level no matter win or lose. Winning and losing wouldn't be a factor just getting stats would.
In my opinion the 1st mm system the halo 2 system was possibly the best and most fair. The only probelms that I knew of was standbying. Boosting wasn't a probelm to me. I play boosters maybe once every 40 matches. Standbying became more frequent because I was in the 30s.
The H2 system was fair because of the skill gap and it was very challenging unlike the system in use now
