A real test of a man is if he is willing to scrape a sharpened razor up and down his junk just to please a woman.

I don't really care for class based games. Really don't know why, but I prefer the "Pick Up and Go" kind of thing.
Class based games are more "pick up and go" (or whatever) than Halo considering you start with your weapons and such...

I meant that you can pick up weapons and go.

I don't want the other team to all spawn with rockets or snipers. I don't want to be rediculed for the class I want to be in. This is why I like Halo, you can just find a certain weapon on the map, and don't have to wait twenty minutes for your teammate to decide whether he wants to be a Heavy or Sniper.

If your team mate takes twenty minutes to decide if he wants to be a Heavy or Sniper, you probably don't want him playing on your team anyway.

EDIT: Anyone know why quotes aren't working?

almost all good games have controls, strategy, and counters to nearly everything. halo lacks in counters and its strategy is, well, unique.

and I'd say no to classes, but a spendable xp system would kick ¢0[) @$$ any day. something that conforms to different play styles that's not camped.

Amen to that, brother. I think it just makes things more inteesting. Also, it gives the moment to moment gameplay better drive, and focus beyond simply shooting the other team.

Would you please define "Halo-y" for us?

Or does it involve running around for BRs?

Halo is about the fight for power weapons... to use to shoot the guys on the other team. There is more focus to it. The moment to momnet "where do I go, why am I going there."

I'm the cult of personality,
I call it like i see it, if i feel the need to be blunt and to the point, then i will, if i feel the need to be very detailed, i will, im here to stay and im here to do things my way, if you respect that or not is your choice, not mine,
and don't worry, while i don't agree with everyone's opinion, i do respect everyone's opinion.

No, Halo is about grabbing the power weapon or vehicle, then owning everyone on the other team. Most competant players stick with the BRs they start with anyway.

EVERY competative multiplayer game has a "moment to moment where do I go, why and I going there" type of thing going on, it's nothing new.

In the other hand with class based non "Halo-y" games, you don't worry about power weapons. You worry on the "moment to moment where do I go, why and I going there" aspect while actually requiring TEAMWORK to get s#$% done.

It contrasts Halo's own or get owned with/by a BR.

Donuts > all other food

Anyone who votes yes doesn't deserve to buy this game.

  • 10.13.2009 7:39 PM PDT

The strongest Rivals are also the strongest allies.

yes, i want there to be say per team, 1 sniper, 1 anti-vehical, 1 speicalist, and the rest be normal troops.

  • 10.13.2009 7:40 PM PDT

Guys-THIS is how a class-based Halo would work, in case you were wondering.
EDIT: Why am I on my bros account?

Class based games are about spawning, then owning everyone on the other team. They just skip the idea of allowing the player to actually decide what weapons they want to use, and when. Most players stick with the br, because all of the other weapons are nerfed. It's really not hard to see how this problem could be eliminated in REACH if Bungie put some thought into it.

I never said it was new, just implied that I think Halo's way of doing it is better.

And it doesn't require teamwork to obtain/hold the myriad of power weapons scattered throughout the maps? Seriously dude, your grabbing for strings that arn't there.

Posted by: Sh1n1ng Wolf
It contrasts Halo's own or get owned with/by a BR.

halo 2 and 3 follow your br formula. However, CE required the player to use all of the weapons on a particular map. Please stop saying that everything Halo revolves around Halo 3.

I voted "yes", but but I'd rather see multiple campaigns through different characters' eyes. One campaign you could be the Chief(if he's playable) or another Spartan, and the next could be a civilian, or a maintenance personnel or something. I think It'd be nice to get more mileage out of a campaign in a Halo game for once.

Death to rank junkies.

If they had a playlist for it and left the rest normal, then yes. It should be restricted to weapons like assault rifles, plasma rifles, smgs, and such.
