Subject: Classes does not = CoD

I'm tired of seeing classes threads instantly getting flamed about "But I don't want Call of Halo." I personnally think, especially in team games, classes could be fun. I don't want to be able to start with any weapon like som people think is classes but only have a few average weapons. Maybe also have little things like enhanced radar or something like that but noth ing huge so doesn't ruin the custom games we all love.

Classes also does not = Halo

Only if we have "Old School" playlists as well, with classic Halo picking up weapons action.

But to have classes, Bungie would need to balance the weapons. That's not how Halo rolls.

Kick start a craze

People fear change, that's all it comes down to.

And some people can never be content with what they've got, even if they asked for it in the first place.

  • 10.13.2009 5:04 PM PDT

i think there should b classes. In the military there are different people working with different equipment. So why couldnt there be classes. I dont wanna start with the AR, but when little kids veto team brs and i get stuck with team slayer i go sad face :(.

All im saying use a couple normal weapons to start with and have the power weapons left on the map.

After all, people who play the game, and realize that there are large flaws, and want to fix them are all greedy. [/sarcasm]

People know what is best for them. Not the game designers. When it comes down to it, we pump hundreds, if not thousands of more hours into a video game than the designers do. All that playing allows us to see what is wrong with the game, and what might improve it.

Wherever you roam
so far from home
you'll be safe from peril
life threatening and terrible
if you avoid David Powel
and keep track of your towel.

But I don't want Halo Fortress!

Seriously though, a class based multiplayer game is fundamentally different than a standard multiplayer game. A game pretty much has to be classed-based down to its very core if it's going to work and the Halo series quite frankly is not.

I'm not saying Bungie can't be really clever and inventive and completely change my opinion on this with their awesome innovations. I'm just saying that I seriously doubt it.

So you say that sheer numbers win over talent and experience when it comes to making games?

Well, I won't be buying any game you have a part of.

True. They'd really need to balance out the weapons differently for this.

But personally, I prefer the classic playstyle of picking up weapons around the map, but that's just me. Maybe I will like a class-based game better. I just can't see it though.

Bungie has the hottness to make a good class based game, it just boils down to if Bungie DECIDES to make Reach class based.

Im tired of seeing class related threads. There have been a million of these and you people keep on making them and somehow you expect people to react differently to them? If they reacted in a way to the past 1,000,000 threads, they will react the same way to the 1,000,001 thread.

I make a legitimate thread on the most logical choice for the next Bond actor, and you take that away from me by creating a parody thread indirectly connecting my thread to yours.

I hope your kids have bad influences and develop bad personalities. I wish this with all my heart.

How about we just walk up to a weapon rack in the spawn area and grab our weapon of choice?

Want this thread to be different? Hire an english major to write it for you, because there is no way you can persuade people over to your side of the issue with only a paragraph of complaints and unexplored claims.

If I recall correctly, he said there wouldn't be squad-based gameplay in the campaign...

  • 10.13.2009 5:27 PM PDT

Did I? Don't put words in my mouth. People who can actually think, and that realize having one weapon making every other weapon redundant is bad, and that games have flaws, and that maybe, new things can be good, deserve to have a voice. Their talent and experience goes into designing the game, etc. The Aesthetics, the AI, etc. But since we deal with the weapons more than anyone else, we should be able to give advice. Nobody, and no group of people is perfect.

Oh, and then you might not want to buy MW2. One of the kill streaks was suggested by me.
