Good thing Staten said there wouldn't be classes in the game...
If I recall correctly, he said there wouldn't be squad-based gameplay in the campaign...

Anybody have a link of this? I've been wanting to watch it myself for a while and it would be a useful reference.

I'm tired of seeing classes threads instantly getting flamed about "But I don't want Call of Halo."
Im tired of seeing class related threads. There have been a million of these and you people keep on making them and somehow you expect people to react differently to them? If they reacted in a way to the past 1,000,000 threads, they will react the same way to the 1,000,001 thread.
We're hoping this thread will be different. *cross fingers*

Want this thread to be different? Hire an english major to write it for you, because there is no way you can persuade people over to your side of the issue with only a paragraph of complaints and unexplored claims.
I've XPLAYNED this issue in other threads before, and the people that blatently disagree fall into the following categories:

1. People who have never played a game with classes and are afraid of the concept of anything new.

2. Ignorant Halo fanboys (who are afraid of the concept of anything new.)

3. STUPID F#$%ING IDIOTS!!!!

4. Trolls who just like to argue (I'm reaching troll point unfortunetly...)

5. People who have played some good class based games (COD4 doesn't count, bleh...), spent some time with it, and truely didn't enjoy the concept of classes. (VERY VERY VERY RARE!!!)

Also, the "cross fingers" bit was suppost to be sarcasm.

I just can't see it though.
Pick up Team Fortress 2.

Now.

I can't see it in Halo. I never had a problem with class systems, I just can't see it with Halo. I haven't played Team Fortress 2, but I did play both Battlefronts, and I had a blast playing them.

I'm simply saying they'd need to make a lot of changes to Halo's weaponry to make it work correctly. I'd rather have them improve on the system we have now than make a class system.

Also, no one tell me I don't want new things. I love new things. New weapons, new physics, new gameplay mechanics, new maps (duh), new gametypes, new strategies. But built onto our current system.

Team Fortress, Battlefront, they made it work because the game was made for classes. Halo was not built for classes; it was built for it's "old school" multiplayer system.

If Bungie ends up making a class system, I won't cry. I'll deal with it, I'll adjust, and I'll still get Halo: Reach on release day. I'm sure Bungie can pull it off and I'm sure it will do fine, I just PREFER the current system over class-based systems.

Halo Reach is a brand spankin new game, it can be built into whatever the hell Bungie wants it to be.

Bungie would need to balance the weapons. That's not how Halo rolls.

That's for sure. *cough*BR*cough*

Compared to the Halo 2 BR the Halo 3 BR is a step in the right direction. And Reach is going to be another step in the right direction.

Yeah, because it's not like they don't have a huge corporation that watches there every move with the game so that they don't do anything too drastic. Gotta make sure the core gameplay isn't changed, or less people will buy it. If less people buy it, a certain company loses money.

Oh teh noes!

It's a step in the right direction for sure, but it still ain't balance. And the Halo 2 BR is a totally different story.

How so? Bungie could put a Halo twist on class-based gameplay.

Again, by classes I mean Team Fortress style classes, not Call of Duty weapon load-outs.

...That's what I just said. If Bungie really wants it to be class-based, they can do it. And I'll deal with it.

All I'm stating is my opinion, which should be pretty obvious by now. I'm willing to accept changes, but I would prefer for the game to be using the original "old school" system.

Stop calling people like me trolls. Just because we don't think the way you do doesn't mean that we are idiots, fools, morons, etc. I'm just another guy with another opinion. Get use to guys like me, because there's a lot of them out there, all with their own opinions on what they like. And guess what? They aren't all going to agree with you.

Stop generalizing. It's getting annoying.

Classes=Sniper class, assult rifle class, and rocket class= Everyone starts with power weapons witch = 100% LAME.

My equason for the lameness of classes on halo.

C=S+A+R=100% LAME.
The equasion of witch all halo games are made of.

Ignorance must be bliss...

Do you HONESTLY think that Bungie would be that stupid if they implimented classes? Have you ever even played a class based game?

Based on my formula?
Really though, I think most people enjoy halo because it dose not have classes. With classes. the higher ranks unlock better guns. Witch only makes the higher ranks better, making it hard for new people playing the game to have fun and get better.
