Before you bash this, let me explain:

In the level Regret on Halo 2, before i would get on the first gondola i would 'drag and drop' weapons onto it. For instance, i would pick up a weapon and drop it, then run foward picking up the dropped weapon. Essentially since i can only carry 2 weapons, i'm shuffling my shotgun and BR onto the gondola. By the time i'm done with this, i have 3 plasma pistols, 3 needlers, 2 beam rifles, 2 plasma rifles, and a carbine and sniper rifle on the gondola, and i'm free to pick up whichever i please to fight the waves while i'm on the gondola. Those weapons did not disappear. At all.

In firefight, i try to pick up the rockets and drop them in the back, but by the end of a few waves they disappear. I do the same with the gravity hammer. Of course, this adds a challenge, but realisticly, gravity hammers do not sink into the ground Bungie.

My arguement is, i want the dropped weapons to stay....umm.. DROPPED. I also want to be able to holster duel wielded weapons. If i'm carrying 2 SMGs, why do i have to throw one down? why can't i put both on my hip? they're small right? same with plasma pistols, magnums, plasma rifles, etc. The Arbiter does it in Halo 3 Campaign right? I could swear i've seen him with 2 plasma rifles on his hip. So why can't we do this?

Those are my arguements. Agree or disagree.

It also would be nice to see the dead bodies left on the ground, and not sunk into it like every other videogame i've seen.

Group invites will be treated very poorly because the Care Package is empty.

It's to clear up some memory so that you won't be lagging as you kick the asses of an army of Covenant, and possibly add to the challenge.

A love for games and a love for writing.

I would also like to see this (putting 2 weapons on your hip) but Bungie probably wouldn't change it due to game balance issues.

I would also like for my weapons not to disappear when I drop them too but only one can hope.

This is the way the world ends,
This is the way the world ends,
This is the way the world ends;
Not with a bang but a whimper.

I see where you're coming from, but I think one of the issues is lag. If you have all the weapons from all the covies or humans as well as the body, I think it would cause to much lag. I'm not entirely sure why it worked in campaign, but maybe they had the game delete all the weapons and vehicles and the like after you made it to a certain area. I'm not sure though.

hmm..that makes sense, but this memory clear was absent from most of Halo 2, and i never lagged in that game. In fact, the only game i ever lagged in was Halo 3. Now i understand that dead bodies should disappear after some time, but weapons should be able to stay much, much longer.

Games can't handle large amounts of weapons and/or bodies at one time. Unlike the campaign, Firefight forces you to stay in one area. The map called "102 Elephants" is an excellent example of this.

-I was here

yeah, my friend had taken a bunch of hammers and stashed em in a pile for when black eye turned on, but by the time this set started, the hammers vanished and we got raped(or my friend did at least) while looking for a new one.

hmm i see. This proves my uneducated insight into video games. Thanks for that guys--let's continue to discuss though. Lag makes sense, but come on--they could at least make them stay longer. But i guess unless the bodies are scripted to be there, we'll never be able to play a lag-free game and walk on top of all those miserable grunt bodies.... (silent evil chuckle)

In Campaign, you constantly leave the area. After reaching a certain area, everything erases. Anyways, enemies spawn (instead of having them there at the beginning, they spawn when you reach a designated area, freeing up a whole lot of memory).

But bungie kinda solved this---weapon holders. There should be some on all the multiplayer maps and firefight maps, don't you think? This way we can holster those gravity hammers

A trick i do for Tsavo Highway on Legendary is i give one of my warthog mates a battle rifle, while i take the fuel rod and a beam rifle. When we get to the first canyon with snipers, shades, and the 'dam', i destroy the shades with the fuel rod, snipe all the snipers, then i give the beam rifle to the marine in exchange for the BR i gave him earlier.

Sure, this system sort of works like 'carrying' weapons, but i'd like to be able to holster weapons on maps and, if possible, store weapons on vechiles

Yes, but Halo 2 didn't have Firefight either. Also, it kinda did. You know how it says "loading" while your playing campaign. That means it is adding more of the level on, and removing some of the level you have been through. It has to do this because the game can't handle loading the entire campaign at once.
