I wish I was still legendary.

Just an idea. It's in the books but might be unfair ingame:

different visor modes. Essentially, these would take the place of a flashlight - thermal (to show up enemies in darkness) and normal. These would be changed with the left/right on the D-pad and available only in campaign (not needed for MM in general), but the torch could still be used. Of course, there's probably something infinitely more useful mapped to the D-pad already.

Thermal is essentially heat vision. It exists in canon. What this would be useful for is dark places, with the possibility of enemies waking up from your flashlight/ wondering where it's coming from and finding you. Enemies glow yellow in this light, at least infantry. Stealth (camouflaged) infantry will glow a lightish blue, slightly brighter than their background. Sentinels would show up as blue unless firing. Vehicles would generally show up as blue depending on what they are/your perspective - for example, a wraith may glow orange from the back (the fan), but blue from the front.

The disadvantage to heat vision is that it does NOT illuminate scenery - it will all appear as a dull blue unless something is warm, e.g. a sentinel dispenser or a damaged fusion core. You'd have to be careful whilst using this not to walk into too much stuff.

Normal dun need explaining. It'd be the default mode.

Just an idea. It will almost definitely not be in the game, but I wanted to see what you guys thought.

Good idea. I'd like some sort of alternate vision mode. Whether it'd be like heat vision, the VISR, or something completely different...

blarg, bow chicka wow wow, boomshakalaka,

Heres a suggestion for you. in ODST there were many levels, that were almost too dark to see but if you did turn on the VISR it was too bright. also, in the city, when i go into buildings i cant see a thing no matter what i do. so i suggest that you can turn up the brightness on the VISR. (if you think of a combo for controls, post it)

Check my masterpiece here.

As long as it doesn't affect the BR, then it's k.

Thermal vision wouldn't work like the VISR. you wouldn't go blind as such, enemies would always show up. most scenery, however, would blend together (cold) - meaning it's not all powerful.

Either that or polarised visor. It would automatically adjust brightness faster than it currently does with VISR on and to a more manageable degree, but keep outlines etc.
