I like that, but I'd make a few changes:
Brute Jump Height: 75% (Normally they can't jump very high)
Brute Ability: Berseker (Either when you lose your shields or you can press a button) You drop your weapons and start ramming with 4 legs. All attributes increase. 10 second duration.

Elite Ability: Active Camo. Like in Halo2 with 5 second duration and 15 second recharge. It's Reach so technology is weaker.

Spartan: Flashlight (A lot more dark places and corners) and possibly the only ones who have a HUD.

The spartans special ability should be acrobatics.

If they DO add Brutes, they'll probably shrink them down to fit the Spartans' height, because one of the big things with armor perms was that they wouldn't affect gameplay. It's all about preference. Personally, I don't like the idea of attributes or bonuses in games with certain armors or models. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

This all deviates from the simple, no-gimic gameplay that makes Halo special. If Brutes were implemented, all character models should be equal as they always have. Special powers such as a "berserk mode" are not a core part of Halo gameplay.

There's no real way to balance all the plus stats and minus stats and bonus abilities besides "Make them all equal, like it worked in all the previous games". Plus adjusting the height would make the player easier to shoot.

Thats why the brutes would probarly be Amatuer Brutes,like younger Brutes that are shorter.Besides,Theres a CROUCH button for a reason...

I'd like to add that if they DON'T add Brutes, we will see more content for Elites and Spartans, which is a plus, in my opinion. My whole stance on Reach had been ADDED content, not brand new content. I'd like to see the existing stuff fleshed out rather then some random new thing pop up with no explanation besides "We liked the idea!". Personally, I think that Matchmaking's fine the way it is, and though I'll be really angry if Elites are cut from Matchmaking, they are balanced. Brutes are both taller and wider then Spartans and Elites, and it's likely that they'll be the new source of whining on the Forums instead of Elites.

As you progress throughout your life you realize that the older you get the closer your are to death, the only thing you cannot change.

Actually, I would like to see Brutes in multiplayer.

I think that they should be more even then what you said though, and that Brutes can recharge their shields from recharge stations on each map, that you must wait 10 seconds in between uses.

This would not work.

The Spartans and Elites are simply differences based on looks, this topic looks to turn it into a class system.

The Halo multiplayer is a tried and trusted format, Bungie wouldn't dare to tamper with a winning formula.

I truly believe they would have to scale each model as roughly the same size. A lot of people will complain about the hit-boxes.

If you're going to implement "acrobatics" for Spartans, I think it'd be best off if when this mode is activated, the view becomes 3rd person. I also think sprinting should not be allowed while in 3rd person - this would make the animation look glitchy. Just allow a button to hold/press when in normal mode to allow for sprinting.

Acrobatics would be present to allow wall climbing, dodging, maybe even crawling. All in all, this mode would be fairly inefficient for running-and-gunning. I think to help deter people from spamming this mode, a damage resistance decrease would be a good option. Maybe the removal of the HUD as well.

Lastly, I feel if you're making 3 different races (Brutes' inclusion) you should also add ODSTs. They're special ability could be VISR and could help highlight enemies and more powerful weapons that are spawned.

Obviously their power would be significantly weaker, but I feel we could implement the stamina idea like from Halo 3: ODST. The recharge rate of this would be fairly quick compared to Spartans' shields, however their damage resistance is much weaker as well.

However, I think their aim should be stronger than Spartans, since they arguably trained more extensively (on the battlefield-wise) to be able to pull off shots and etcetera considering they are not as strong as Spartans.

Their jump would be lower than Spartans, but to not take away from game mechanics, not too noticeably. Their speed would be slightly slower, but they are still able to sprint, however -15% slower of a sprint compared to Spartans.

The main appeal for ODSTs would be for noob appeal - they recharge much quicker (Stamina), and the VISR helps point them in the right directions for both enemies and better weaponry.

I think the best catch for ODSTs would to give them a more advanced VISR. Perhaps it will allow the player to see if there's enemies beyond a wall (ala thermal vision). They would have to incorporate this so there's no confusion if they are behind the wall or in front of.

*Height gaps have been minimized, and introduction of Stamina to stay with Halo canon. Advantage is use of VISR, which has unlimited use.

*I think having ODSTs would also allow to have two different classes for UNSC and two different classes for Covenant. This could allow for some interesting "UNSC VS. Covenant" battles - which could possibly allow for this as a playlist.

I would see having Elites and Brutes as a worthwhile idea if they felt different, like they should (Campaign). Having only the HUD and sounds change isn't nearly as appealing. Brutes and Elites aren't useful if they're just reskinned Spartans.

The moment Bungie adds more than 1 race things become unbalanced. That's why they should go all the way making 3 quite different characters. Just make a "race lock" for gametypes so we can still play equal Spartans vs Spartans or Elites vs Elites or Brutes vs Brutes matches. The abilities could also be togglable through a menu.

Now I agree with OPs idea although I'd like if the "acrobatics" also included flashlight. It would be something like "Spartan special" mode. Or atleast certain weapons should have a flashlight.
