"You must be mistaken, Reclaimer. I've met your makers, and they don't even know your name..."

Best ending ever would be right after the credits, you see the Pillar of Autumn going towards Halo, and hear Keyes say "Cortana, all I want to know is did we lose them?"

In my mind the best ending level for Reach would be the first level of Halo CE. Getting to drive up and through that first line of grunts, It would bring back that little flutter in your heart, The feeling of really being able to control a console FPS like it should be, Make you remember that solid black piece of plastic that started it all (for me anyway). In a nutshell Bungie would have to be in a nutshell not to do I think. Thanx Bungie..... sob... sob... I'm gonna go load up Halo CE now

I'd love to be a 10 year old and tell my mom I'm going on an adventure out into the world catching Pokemon, with her full support. Never mind the fact that there are rapists, criminals, and murders out there, or the fact that I may get killed by a Pokemon.

Luckily I have Pikachu.

No, the ending should be the ending of The Fall Of Reach novel.

I think it should be but from the Covenants perspective. Imagine the Arbiter (who is still a ship captain at this point) on the bridge watching the viewscreen as the POA drops out of slipspace.

This body holding me reminds me of my own mortality.
Embrace this moment. Remember. We are eternal.
All this pain is an illusion.

"I think we both know the answer to that"

Even better, that same idea, but over Reach. The (soon to be) Arbiter is watching the viewscreen, shouting orders, until one of his sub-commanders says something like "Shipmaster, a rogue human vessel is attempting to escape!" "Bring it up on my screen." Then, you see a close up of the PoA as it makes a slipspace jump, with the last lines being "Calculate its trajectory, and prepare to follow it."

Then after the credits, you hear "All I want to know is, did we lose them?" "I think we both know the answer to that."

It should. And maybe in 2011 there's a little remake for Halo: CE, just like the 'new' Perfect Dark for XBLA.

I am a pharmaceutical scientist. I received my Masters degree in Pharmaceutics from the University of the Sciences in Philadelphia in 2010, after working as a Pharmacist for 4 years. I currently work in King of Prussia, PA, and focus on the analytical chemistry of small molecule APIs. My clients include some of the most well known big pharma companies in the world.

Yea, it would be cool to have something that directly alludes to the beginning of CE.

CORTANA: I think we bolth know the answer to that.
Keys: how did they....
CORTANA: get here first, there ships have always been faster. As for traking us from reach, in lightspeed, my manuvering options where limited.
Keys:we where running dark.
CORTANA: Untill we went dark, noone could of had missed the hole we tore in subspace.
Keys:Cortana, get the ship back up to combat alert alpha, i want everyone at their posts.
CORTANA: Everyone, sir?
Keys:Everyone.

OR

Lord Hood is standing on the bridge of a ship long after the end of the war, watching Reach being terraformed back to normal. His comm activates and it goes like this:

MAN: Admiral, there's someone on a secure channel for you, ONI I think.

HOOD: Patch him through.

ONI OFFICER: Lord Hood? This is ONI search party 7. We've found him.
