First oof, this topic is TWO ideas in one. These ideas are just my own suggestion and are most definately not going to be in Reach - but whatever. Sorry if these have been came up with already.
*Armor Challanges*
Basicly what this would be is a better approach to unlocking armor permutations. In Halo 3, armor was gotten through campaign achievements. I don't think that was a good idea in the first place since you can't even use them in campaign.
What I suggest is that you be able to unlock the armor perms through multiplayer matches. But these perms would show exactly what kind of player you are. You would unlock them by doing specific things like a number of kills.
Let's say you are the kind of person who always snipes. There would be an armor perm called something like "Sniper" or "Sharpshooter" but would only be available once you had gotten maybe 50 kills with a sniper rifle.
If this was implemented, it would show off what kind of player you are AND you would look super cool.
*Armor Properties*
All this would be is that properties would come along with each helmet. These would add to your character's abilities in multiplayer. There are two different ways this could work:
For the next idea, it affects gameplay and may not be loved by anyone on these forums for making the game unfair
1. It would improve your actual stats. If you had the "Sharpshooter" helmet on, maybe your zoom would be improved by .25x.
The next one is perfectly fine and doesn't affect gameplay
2. It would just be a cool effect when you shoot are melee someone. If you had the "Sharpshooter" helmet on, maybe something like the Grunt Birthday Party confetti would pop out on a headshot.
UPDATE There could be specific playlists for Armor properties #1 since it would affect gameplay. It would give you a choice of whether to play with it or not
