I know im late, but my xbox broke and I am Desperate. Very. Anyways I got errors all over, heres what I all did. I booted Halo and got this message...

1. Problem: We are sorry, but your computer's video hardware is below recommended mimimum spec for this game. If you wish to upgrade your computer, please contact your computer manufacturer for any necessary assistance.

My Action: Continue Anyway

2. Problem: A Problem occured initializing Direct3D. Hardware acceleration maybe disabled, please run DXDIAg.

My Action: Run - DXDIAG>Display>Test Direct 3D. D3D 7 and 8 work. then error message "The test to use hardware-acce;erated Direct3D 9 was skipped because the display driver does not support it. You may be able to get a newer driver from the hardware manufacturer.

Alright dude ill be happy to help ya but i need your computer speccs like video card, Ram and procceor. BUt from what iam looking at your computer isnt good enough to play halo. OR you have a 256mb video card and you need to update halo to 1.07 and also update your drivers and look for the sticky to the 256mb video card fix.

Well check your Video tab when in the Dxdiag screen. Report what your video card memory is, and what video card you have.

if you have an old computer with integrated graphics, ur gonna need to buy a new graphics card.

I just bought this computer less than a year ago. Brand new, windows XP and all that. Ok Under the Display Tab in DXDIAG... it shows this.

You actually didn't post anything under device. But I had the exact same problem with Halo when I first got it. I got it ot work though, but I can't remember how. The only problem is that I can't see blood, unless I turn it on, but than it's very laggy and the FPS slow down a lot.

You may also need to get more memory.

I had the exact same problem. I went to http://www.microsoft.com/games/halo/support.asp and manually downloaded the Auto-patch which then enabled me to download and install Hot-Fix v 1.07.

That is an integrated chip, or a really crappy card only there so you can see stuff on the moniter I believe. You will need to get a better card if you want to play halo well.
