Wrong. Microsoft own bungie which own's halo and it's universe due to the fact they created it. Bungie has the rights to do what it wants to its games aslong as it's released by the deadline microsoft sets.

I'm sorry, sir, but you simply do not know your stuff.

Microsoft owns Halo

Bungie is independent of Microsoft

Check those two links.

Very good you prove'd me worng.

But the fact remains that Bungie make the games meaning that everything to do with halo that they've made including the books and the 'cannon' idea means that there will still be no BR in Reach as it was un-developed when Reach fell.

For all you who keep saying the br wasn't made when fall of reach happened read the books again, clearly in first strike it states that the br was just developed and sam, fred and other spartans tested them out killing a couple of elites.

Here’s what Luke had to say about the differences in treatment between the Spartans and Elites in Reach:

“Instead of piece-by-piece customization like the Spartans, Elite customization is a full model swap with models selected from the various Elite classes appearing throughout the Campaign. There are all kinds of reasons for this, not the least of which is our continued emphasis on the Spartan as your identity in Reach.”

As a matter of fact, a single shot weapon is harder to use at close range. If our new rifle is single shot, it would be much more balanced.

Another thing would be to raise the range of the AR, so it's not so similar to the SMG.

Im all for:
Plasma Pistol
Plasma Rifle
Spiker
SMG
AR
Automag
Carbine

To that point I'll say that we just have to wait and see if the BR, or a similar weapon, is included.

And now that I'm done beating your brains in in this debate, I shall return to the Flood forum, my home.

Halo 3: ReV Eskimo

eventually ill be back on Reach and CEA. i enjoy gaming for fun, im a great player and i enjoy smoking while i play. so any chill players feel free to add me. I in NO way support halocharts; old username.

its not that bungie deciced to just not place a BR in ODST just cause they knew it would be a huge upset to most players/fans, they have to remain consistent with the storyline. as far as Battle rifles introducing themselves in Reach is a 50/50. the Blue Squad WAS shown and given BRs by DR. Halsey way way way way way underground of reach but they did go through quite a bit of battle before they got to that point, so it may be given to the squad halfway thru the game.

so its a matter of book/game correlation being consistent, not their opinion or majority opinion. if they do offer a new multiplayer it would be nice to have the Battle rifle due to its balance in the sense. if there is no multiplayer than i dont see its presence being 100% neccessary. ODST was a great game without the battle rifle.

It doesn't matter. Some other gun, be it rifle like or pistol like, will fill it's niche.

Funny I have yet to be defeated? perhaps you thought that your links and out doing what I thought was right on one seperate occasion is classed as my defeat but unfortunatly for you you're worng.

As for the BR we'll see but odd's are if bungie still play by the rules it wont be in the game.

The BR is not balanced it's unballanced and that's why the people do not like the gun.

I said I'd be fine if the BR was tweaked. I've been playing Halo longer than most of you, so talk to me about loyalty.

I don't find it entertaining to bull-rush people with automatic weapons and trade beatdowns. And like I said, Bungie isn't stupid enough to do what you kids want anyway, so I'm planning on buying Reach.

lmfao You are an idiot. How do YOU know how much we've been playing Halo? If you've been playing Halo since BEFORE Halo 1 came out, then yes you have been playing Halo longer than me. Otherwise, if you want to compare our e--blam!-es, I'll gladly whip mine out and slap you with it... making you embarassed to show yours!

As funny as that was just let it go he isnt worth your time and he's already ran back to his flood forum so he probably wont see this. Just let this thread die it's just a pointless repeat anyway.

Examples:
Halo 1 pistol
ODST Automag
Carbine
Needler
Scoped Assault Rifle
