It would seem as if the Type-47 Ultra Heavy Assault Platform or scarab, a very iconic vehicle in the halo franchise may be left out? It would seem as if the spirtits and seraphs would have no way of dropping scarabs on Reach. I also have found no evidence that Scarabs occured on the battle of Reach.

EXTREME PREJUDICE

Read Halo: First Strike.

I believe those Scarabs were for mining purposes and were not armed like the ones we saw in H2, H3, and H3: ODST.

Scarabs are dropped from Orbit. They even have thrusters for a safe landing, so they don't need to be transported to the Surface (Here's Proof)

Reach was a major planet, being the base of operations for ONI and the Ship Yards, so I think that the Covenant would deploy Scarabs.

In First Strike, I believe that when Fred and Kelly were on recon, they spotted a few Scarabs. That doesn't necessarily mean that they'll make it into the game, but still...

Peace through superior firepower.

They need to add a new spin to the idea if so. The first ever scarab fight in Halo 2 was the best. I still play it all the time.

Note that scarabs are not dropped from drop ships they directly drop from orbit a lot like ODST troopers and this can actually be observed directly in campaign on the level the Covenant and is heard in dialogue between Dare and Buck on the level Coastal highway also the mining "Scarabs" are most likely locusts based on the in book description However Reach would be the perfect opportunity to drop a scarab because the covenant had intended to stay on the surface for a while so it would be likly that at least one scarab would be droped
