Were it so easy.

Poll: New Enemies: Drinol  [closed]
Yes, I would like them as a new enemy/boss:  72%
(65 Votes)
No, I would not like them in the game:  28%
(25 Votes)
Total Votes: 90

They apparently were going to be in Halo 2 (or at least one of them) but it was cut from the game. They seem to be a mix of Brutes and Hunters.

Here is the Halopedia article on them: Drinol

So what do you guys think, should they be a new enemy or perhaps a boss in Reach?

They seem to be gigantic, hideous beasts. Chances are Bungie would ruin the AI on it and people would just complain. Let the ideas that were thrown away remain garbage is what I say.

Your mother is... (*:D*)

I think they would be challenging new enemies.

I will be there to answer your questions! No matter how obvious or stupid they may be, don't be afraid to ask. It'll pay off in the long haul.

they look more like a bigger more powerful flood tanker than a covenant

And why would a species of dinosaur like beasts that could potentially pose a challenge for even be a spartan be allowed to Survive on Reach? Wouldn't the humans hunt them to extinction?

They're part of the Covenant, not a natural Reach creature.

Yeah! That's what I thought. These guys could easily be a nice replacement to the Flood Tank forms. They have very similar shape too.

  • 10.15.2009 6:09 PM PDT

Um... I like Halo? I don't really know what to say. I'm a student at the moment, I hope to become a criminal profiler, and I enjoy pretty much everything as long as it's good.

If they made them a walking tank sort of thing that could work. It would go berserk and -blam!- you up. I think if it were some kind of biological wrecking balls that the covenant used, that could work.

If memory serves weren't they originally supposed to be creatures Native to Halo, but were taken out to lead the player to believe that Halo was uninhabited so that the discovery of the flood would be much more suprising?

I am a Halo 3 Failure.

I would really like to fight a Sharquoi, they just seem like fun to fight, but I'm only saying this based on the fact that they're "very freaking dangerous."

The halowikia entry say's they are part of the Covenant. But I don't know for sure.

I think you might be thinking about the thorn beast. That was I believe the only wildlife intended for Halo:CE. The Drinol was meant to be a sort of placeholder until the Tank forms. Or something like that, I don't know.

Read the original post. There is a link to a halowikia article about the Drinol...

Why do you guys care how they look so much, your going to be killing them, not playing as them.

  • 10.17.2009 11:58 PM PDT

Golf Wang. Brony.

Sure. The more variety, the better.

These guys could be like the gameplay bastard child of a Hunter and Brute...without any guns! Just drop one off from a Phantom and watch it plow through a dozen marines.

:D

get out of here stalker

Look like larger, more retarded grunts.

  • 10.18.2009 12:05 AM PDT

Here’s what Luke had to say about the differences in treatment between the Spartans and Elites in Reach:

“Instead of piece-by-piece customization like the Spartans, Elite customization is a full model swap with models selected from the various Elite classes appearing throughout the Campaign. There are all kinds of reasons for this, not the least of which is our continued emphasis on the Spartan as your identity in Reach.”

Or, a larger Hunter frame for sieges and the like.

Since, ya know, Reach was the one major battle where both sides threw everything they had at each other.

I do imagine that they would go beserk and be like the flood tank forms. (The tank forms design evolved from the Drinol design)

I miss the days of Halo 2.

Looks like a mutated Brute of some sort.
