Fan-Fiction: The Human-Covenant War, Without The Great Schism. Story of how the war would have been if The Great Schism never happened.

Quick Information: What I want to try and do is write and FF in the Halo-Verse between Halo 2-3, but with a twist. I want to try and write an FF where there is no Great Schism. What this means is, the Brutes-Elites are still allies, as are the rest of the Covenant. Just to clear up some confusion, what you know of the story from Halo 2-3 will probably not help you here, since it's going to be pretty twisted. I will be switching between viewpoints of Marines, Elites, Spartans, etc.

Prologue - First Battle of Earth.

Date: October 20, 2552.

Location: Athens Station

Martin laughed as his last pistol round hit the grunt dead center in the forehead. The grunt's corpse slowly rolled down the stairs as the blue blood slowly trickled down it's neck. Martin grabbed a needler gun and cautiously examined it. It only had ten needles sticking out from the top of it. No worries, martin thought. He has seen these needlers take out elites with one needle. Martin was just drafted to the UNSC. Having the physique and confidence of an ODST, he was drafted to be one. Now here he was, a twenty-five year old who has the rank of "Rookie", as the ODSTs call it when someone is fresh out from the bag. This is only Martin's third week on the job. He has been stuck in the Athens Orbital Defense Platform for three weeks now, and he is finally glad to see some action.

"Well", Martin whispered to himself, "Better to get ready for round two."

"Martin!", yelled his Squad Leader, Aaron, "We've almost unlocked this stupid door, just hold on out there!"

Just then two Elites came running down the stairs, plasma swords in hand. Martin emptied what his needler had into the Elite on the left. Nine of the bullets harmlessly deflected off the Elite's shield, the last bullet broke through the shield and pierced the Elite's head. A second later the needle exploded, taking the Elite's head with it. The Elite on the right yelled out a cry of revenge, and came running at Martin.

The door on his left finally opened, and his team quickly reacted by blasting the Elite full of lead. Within seconds, the Elite was torn apart. Martin walked over to the dead Elite, and kicked it's body.

"Making sure it was dead."

"Enough fooling around", Aaron said in a tired voice, "Pick up some weapons, we are going to move out."

Martin picked up an Energy Sword, and two Plasma Rifles.

Martin was still confused as how the door malfunction right as he was going to walk in. Since Martin was the "Rookie" of the team, he had to stay in the back. Unfortunately he was also the last one to enter the door, too bad it malfunctioned and closed on him right as he was about to enter. His team was on the run from Covenant, trying to hope to survive after retreating from the battle in the hanger bay. It took his team five minutes to open the door, five minutes which felt like five hours to Martin.

Joseph, the smartalic risk taker of the team, looked around the dead bodies of Covenant. "Nice work", Joseph said happily, "You took down seven of them, too bad most were Grunts, would have been happier if they were all Elites."

"Yeah, well, the Elites were too busy getting their asses kicked somewhere else", Martin replied.

Martin looked at the window showing Earth, and showing another Orbital Defense Platform, named Malta. Martin tried to examine the MAC gun on it, but suddenly in the middle of the station, a bright red light expanded.

"We got a problem at Malta Station", Martin whispered into his COM Channel.

His squad looked at the window as well. Suddenly, Malta Station exploded, sending big pieces everywhere into space.

"If you don't want that to happen to this station, then I suggest we keep moving to the Bridge", Aaron barked.

The squad nodded, unable to speak.

Zilf 'Hibvatee looked at the bomb they had finally unloaded. After his escort squad had been repeatedly harassed by Human Survivors, he was now left with just two Elites and three Grunts. Just five minutes ago he had triple that amount guarding the bomb. But a coordinated attack from the Humans damaged his Squad. Of course, as usual, the Humans remain defeated. Zilf's squad managed to kill the Human's, but who knows how many more are in this structure.

Zilf looked at the countdown timer of the bomb. It read 5:42. Zilf's only goal was to protect this bomb until it detonated. There was no way for him to do that if he left the bomb unprotected by itself. This is why Zilf must stay by it until it explodes. Zilf hopes he will restore his honor using his sacrifice. Zilf looked at two Human Drop Pods near the window.

Although he wanted to restore his honor, he also didn't want to die. If he used one of the Human Drop Pods to escape, this would destroy his honor completely. Any use of Human Technology jeopardizes the honor you have. Zilf pondered the idea of living to fight another day or fight to regain honor. Zilf hit himself in the head, and asked himself "Why do you think of such thoughts? It is in your blood to die for honor!" This was one of those moments Zilf wished he had some honor so he wouldn't have to die to get some.

Zilf looked at the time. It read 4:17. "Good", Zilf thought "There is no way the Humans can deactivate this bomb now."

Suddenly a bright blue shot flew through the air, hitting a Grunt in the face, instantly killing it. Zilf looked at the Grunt's now Mutilated face, which was still sizzling. Zilf immediatly brought his attention back to where the shot was fired from. Suddenly from his right, a black ball hit his leg, and exploded.

Zilf was thrown back a feet. With his shields now gone, and his gun damaged, he was no defenseless. All he had was his Plasma Sword, which was partly damaged from the blast. Zilf looked around, he was the only one left in his squad. Zilf ran behind the bomb and tried using it as cover until his shields regenerated.

Zilf looked up from his cover, and saw five Humans, with the ODST label on their helmets. One of the Humans took out a Plasma Sword, and yelled out at Zilf "Prepare to go to hell!"

Zilf hated the Human language, and didn't bother to learn it. Zilf just laughed at the fact that these Humans think he understands what they're saying. Zilf looked back at the Grunt with the mutilated face, and seen a Plasma Grenade in it's arm.

Zilf quickly ran to it, activated it, and threw it at one of the Humans.

The grenade hit ODST's helmet, and stuck there.

Zilf laughed thinking he won, but quickly growled when the Human threw his helmet at the Elite. The helmet exploded harmless on the bomb. Zilf quickly grabbed a Plasma Pistol from a fallen Grunt, and shot the helmetless Human in the head.

Zilf looked at one of the Humans who yelled something at him as the Human he just shot fell to the ground, with half a face missing. The Human charged at Zilf, and Zilf took out his Plasma Sword and activated it right when the Human was about to punch Zilf. The human looked at Zilf, and tried to talk, but all that came out was blood.

Zilf threw his arm upward, cutting the Human in half vertically. Three Humans, one Elite. Zilf liked these odds. All three Humans emptied what was left of their guns into Zilf. Zilf's shields had fully regenerated by this point, and were still intact after the Humans emptied their ammo into him. Zilf saw them trying to reload, so he quickly reacted and stabbed the nearest Human. The other two finished reloading, and shot at Zilf agian.

This time his shields couldn't handle it, and Zilf felt burning pains in his chest and legs. Zilf fell to the ground next to the bomb. He slowly crawled up to the bomb to check the timer. It read 1:47. Zilf saw the Human with the Energy Sword swing at his face with it. "I have failed......" was Zilf's final thought before dying.

************************************************************* *************************************

"DAMNIT!", Martin yelled, "I CAN'T BELIEVE WE LOST THREE SQUAD MEMBERS TO ONE ELITE!" Aaron inserted his "dumb" AI into the bomb. "Lets just worry about deactivating this bomb, there's about a minute left till it explodes", Aaron said nervously. A few seconds later, the "dumb" AI, which was named Raging Thunder replied to Aaron "I'm sorry.....but there is no time to deactivate it. if only I was more advanced....." Aaron looked down and shook his head, then took the chip which housed Raging Thunder and put it back in the back of his helmet. Aaron looked around and found two ODST drop pods. "QUICK!" Aaron yelled at Martin, who was calmly looking out the window, "GET YOUR ASS IN ONE OF THOSE ODST DROP PODS, THIS PLACE IS GOING TO BLOW!!!" Martin ran into one of the ODST drop pods, followed by Aaron. They quickly strapped themselves in, and Aaron yelled through the COM Channel, "ILL SEE YOU DOWN AT EARTH!,"

Fan-Fiction: The Human-Covenant War, Without The Great Schism. Story of how the war would have been if The Great Schism never happened.

Chapter One: The Journey Home:

**************************************

Martin pressed the red button next to him with the title "release" on it. On his HUD, there was a thirty second countdown till the pod releases. Martin checked the time till the bomb explodes. Thirty seconds.

"The bomb is going to explode as soon as the pods release", Martin said nervously. Aaron replied "Don't worry, we'll make it through."

Suddenly everything started shaking, and Martin started to float for a second. All he could see was black, until his pod finally exited Athens Station.

Through his pod's glass hatch, he could see what was going on in space. There were debris of both Human and Covenant ships. There were red and purple explosions all around. Martin watched as a Covenant Seraph shot down a Longsword, which crashed right into an oncoming Seraph.

Martin shook his head, then suddenly became frantic. He couldn't hear anything. Then he remember, space has no air, so no sound can come from the explosions. He also realized he was holding his breath the whole time.

"You ok Martin?", Aaron asked. "Yeah, im fine", Martined replied, although deep down he wasn't allright. He witnessed the massacre of most of his squad, and he was watching Earth fall.

Suddenly the shockwave from the Athen's explosion hit. Suddenly everything electrical inside the pod went haywire. There were sparks everywhere in Martin's pod. Suddenly the pod started to slowly turn horizonttly.

Martin saw what was happening to Athen's Station. There was a big fireball in the middle, with pick pieces flying outwards. Martin could make out three pieces of the MAC cannon that used to be on the station, before it exploded. The pieces slowly started to disintegrate in Earth's Orbit.

Martin's pod slowly turned on it's side, still horizontal. Martin saw Malta Station, which also just exploded. The debris slowly started to fade away into the darkness of space. "***....." Martin sighed, Two stations down....." Martin could now see Earth, and other Stations. Martin looked at the nearest station, called Cairo station. Martin watched the MAC gun fire, and a second later, he saw a purple dot not far from the Station.

A few seconds later, a Covenant Ship appeared a few miles away in front of the pod. Martin could see everything on the top of the ship, the defenses, the designs, until suddenly the ship's hull imploded, which sent the ship slowly flipping, until it exploded into a million pieces.

"Yeahhhh! MAC cannons are the best!" Martin yelled.

The communications in his pod came online. "Mar----ar----kay? Martin, are you okay?" Aaron asked with a hint of impatience. "Yeah", Martin replied, "I'm fine, just a little static on your hand."

Martin's pod was now at the spot the Covenant Cruiser was moments ago. He flew through the debris and body parts that made up this spot.

Another Covenant Ship was now in front of the pod. This time it was pretty close. Suddenly Martin a little dot, with a bigger dot in front of it. "Computer", Martin said eagerly "Zoom in on that black dot near the Covenant Ship in front of us."

"Aye", the computer replied.

Through his pod's glass hatch, he could now see the Covenant Ship slowly zoomed in, and he now saw what the black dot was. It was the Masterchief with one of the Covenant bombs in his hands.

Martin pressed the record button on his helmet, and continued to watch the Chief silently. The chief disapearred inside an opening of the Ship. A few seconds later, there was a bright purple light in the hole, and the ship blew up in half, with both pieces being hit by MAC guns.

"That crazy mofo!" Martin yelled, "Did you see that Aaron?!" "Yeah, and all I have to say is, the Chiefs on crack." Martin laughed, but then stopped when the shock wave from the explosion hit his pod. This time Martin's pod was flipping out of control.

"Mayday mayday, I have no control of this pod, mayday!" Martin yelled helplessly.

The two odst's were now in Earth's stratosphere, falling down at a dangerous speed.

"Hold it together ODST!" Aaron yelled through the COM channel, "Just try to get your pod's parachute open!"

Martin pressed the parachute button, and on on top of the button was a screen, with the word "error, have a nice day."

"Yeah....." Martin replied, "The parachute button won't work, and the stupid tv is acting ***."

"I'm going to activate mine then, ill see you on the ground." Aaron replied.

Martin responded enthusiastically "Dead or alive?"

Martin's pod was still falling horizontally, and infront of him was Aaron's pod, still falling verticlly.

"Pulling my chute in five...four---" Aaron was saying until Martin broke him off "No, don't!"

"There is no time!" Aaron yelled back.

Martin watched in horror as the chute was pulled, and watched as his pod crashed into Aaron's. Martin's glass hatch cracked, and could barely make out Aaron's pod as it started to spin out of control, with an inward bump on it's top.

Martin checked his altitude. He was 1,000 feet over Chicago. Martin suddenly felt the inside of the pod get hotter. The heat from the atmosphere insertion was now going through the broken glass.

********************************************************

The grunt named dupub looked at the two pods, still laughing after he seen them smack into eachother.

*******************************************************

Martin felt blisters starting to form all over his body, and saw his armor starting to break apart. His altitude was now 200 feet, in just a few seconds he would either die on impact, or slowly die from impact. Martin used his remaining strength to try and get the pod vertical again, while pressing the chute button over and over again. 100 feet till impact, and finally the chute opened. The screen read "Thank you for using our service, please come again." Martin punched the screen, and yelled out at it "Yeah ok! you can suck it!" The parachutes sudden departure flipped the bot to a vertical position, but the pod was now falling upside down. Martin now saw everything upside down. twenty more feet and he will touch ground. As soon as he read this his pod hit the ground. Martin felt the top of the pod implode on his head, and all was calm again.

******************************************************

Dupub walked cautiosly to the pod. After seeing an impact like that, he thought there was no way the Human inside could have survived. As he walked closer, he could see movement inside the pod. Before Dupub could take out his pistol, the hatch flew out and hit him right in the chest.

The impact destroyed Dupub's bones in his chest, and Dupub's methane tank was now leaking. "I should have stayed at the camp....." Dupub thought.

******************************************************

Martin climbed out of his pod, rubbing his neck. He went to the back and opened it, revealing two Silenced SMG's that were just manufactured for combat use, and a silenced pistol, also new to the arsenal. Martins visor had a crack that went diagnol from the top left of his visor to the bottom right. Martin took off his helmet, examining the damage. "Cool.", was Martin's reply. Martin put his helmet on, and saw a red outline under his hatch, still trying to squirm.

Martin readied his pistol, and walked cautiously to the hatch. Under he saw a grunt with a methane leaking tank, and a bloody chest, still trying to move. When the Grunt saw the Human, he stopped moving, and pretended to play dead.

"Well looky here, what have we got here?" Martin said happily. The Grunt made a mistake of answering, and answered "I am Dud----" Realizing his mistake, he tried to play dead again.

Martin took his pistol and put it on the Grunt's head. The Grunt opened it's eyes, and begged Martin to let him live. Martin looked at the Grunt, and burst out laughing.

Martin took the safety off of his pistol, put it in front of the Grunt's head, and said, "Welcome to Earth.", and shot the Grunt. The Grunt wiggled for a second, then stopped moving.

Martin ran up to the nearest hill, and took out his binoculars and zoomed in on the Covenant base just ahead. He saw three Elites and two Jackals walking to the crash site. "Uh oh" Martin said with a smile starting to form, "Looks like this is going to get fun."

Fan-Fiction: The Human-Covenant War, Without The Great Schism. Story of how the war would have been if The Great Schism never happened.

Chapter Two: Payback:

Location: Southern Outskirts of Chicago.

Martin hid behind his almost destroyed drop pod. He already felt sorry for the Covenant squad walking to his crash site. Martin grabbed one of the two locust anti tank mines in the back of his pod, and put one in his predicted path of where the squad was going to walk. He was happy he crashed on the other side of the hill, where they couldn't see him put the mine.

A few seconds later, Martin heard a thump, and rocks, dirt, grass, and gore flew over heard. Martin smiled, and looked for anything else in the back of the pod.

He found the last locust anti tank mine, a new sniper rifle model that was limited in manufacturing, and in a black bag, an ODST helmet. Martin took his cracked helmet off, took the chip out, and inserted it into the new helmet after putting the helmet on. Martin then checked out the sniper rifle to see if it was okay.

All there was was a wide scratch across the letters of the sniper rifle, but other than that, it was okay.

Martin read about this new limited sniper rifle model. Instead of the usual four bullets per magazine, it was five. It also had thermal/friendly or foe vision on the scope. The friendly or foe vision would be real nice, as it would dramatically reduce friendly fire. Martin also read that there is no smoke trail following the bullet, so the Covenant wouldn't be able to trace back to his position using the trace of smoke. Martin also read that the bullets go a little faster than previous sniper rifles.

The only bad thing about the sniper rifle was that you can only reload once you have wasted all five bullets. Martin shrugged his shoulders at that thought, seeing as it wouldn't matter to him.

Martin ran up to the top of the hill, and looked at the hole in the ground where his anti tank mine once was. Martin hid in the hole, and took a look at the base through his sniper scope. Martin saw Covenant running all over the base, wondering what happened. Something bothered Martin though.

This wasn't a normal Covenant Outpost, seeing as all the buildings were Human made. Martin looked at the biggest one, which looked like a small warehouse. On top of the warehouse, were two banshees. The rest of the buildings were small sheds of some sort, except for the main building, which looked to be a main headquarters building. Martin spoke to himself "Must have been a marine outpost that got overrun by the Covenant."

Martin zoomed in past the base at four Brutes and three Grunts who were running up the opposite hill. Suddenly it hit Martin, Aaron was on the other side of that hill. Martin quickly took aim, and fired at the nearest brute, piercing the armor, going through it's neck, and also hitting a Grunt in the process. All of them looked back, and Martin shot another Brute in the forehead. "Three uglies down, four more to go." Martin laughed at the fact that there was nowhere they can run to. They were halfway up the hill, which meant they were also halfway away from their base. Martin shot another Brute in the head, watching as his head exploded, with pieces of guts spilling on the last Brute alive. Two bullets left, piece of cake. Martin started with twenty-five bullets, now he was going to make the last twenty-two count. As soon as Martin shot the bullet, the Brute threw something by it's leg. Suddenly a big peach bubble surrounded the Brute and the two grunts still remaining. The bubble harmlessly deflected the incoming bullet. Martin saw the Brute look at him, and yell something into his arm. "Uh oh....looks like he alerted the base....sucks for them."

Martin pressed a tiny button on the right of his helmet, activating the video recording, which can record up to two months at a time. He wanted to record the bubble shield to alert the UNSC of it. After about fifteen more seconds the bubble shield deactivated. "Trying to delay your death?" Martin asked after taking out a Grunt. Martin took careful aim, and shot the last remaining Brute in the eye. There was only one Grunt left, and it was running around in circles, terrified. Martin couldn't help but laugh. Martin reloaded his sniper rifle, but before he could shoot the grunt, it fell back, dead. Martin was confused at what just happened, so he zoomed in over the hill.

On the top of the hill, he saw Aaron, crouched, waving. Martin waved back. Although Aaron looked like a dot from Martin's distance, the sniper's scope helped to fix that. Martin zoomed in the sniper scope all the way on Aaron to see how good it was. He could see the letters on Aaron's pistol.

All of a sudden, Martin heard a whoosh, and a green explosion a few feet away from him. He saw two Banshees heading his way. "Ohhhhh ***!", Martin yelled into his COM channel, hoping Aaron had it on. "Don't worry, I got you covered", Aaron replied. One of the banshees suddenly nose dived into the ground, exploding. A few seconds later, the other person in the banshee, who tried turning around the banshee to go after Aaron, fell away from his banshee. The banshee slowly fell a few feet away from Martin. Behind him, Martin heard an earthshaking explosion. Martin couldn't tell what it was, until he saw it in the sky. A blue ball of plasma heading right towards him.

Martin ran, and ducked onto the top of the hill. Martin zoomed in on a Wraith, and was surprised at the new model. This new model had a gunners seat right in front of the Plasma Mortar. Martin shot the Brute in the gunners seat, and it fell back into the Wraith. The Brutes hand was still on the plasma gun's trigger, and it kept shooting up. The Wraith went back into the warehouse, where another one came out. "Alright, screw this", Martin said as dodged another plasma shot from the Plasma Mortar.

Martin ran towards the Banshee, and went inside it. Martin didn't know how to fly one. Before Martin could say anything, Aaron yelled at Martin, "Martin, the blue horizontal lever goes up and down, the Vertical lever goes left and right. Martin replied "What a stupid design." Martin hovered up, and turned left in Aaron's direction. Martin heard some thumps on his Banshee. "Martin" Aaron said quickly "Your taking fire, quickly land the Banshee next to me, i'll fly it, and you cover me with your excellent sniper support. "Yes sir", Martin replied happily.

A few seconds later, Martin was by Aaron, and landed the banshee behind the hill. "It's all yours sir"

Aaron looked at the Banshee, and nodded at Martin, giving him his sniper rifle. "Martin, it has twenty-five rounds, use them wisely, there could be over a hundred of those Covenant bastards in that base."

Martin nodded and crouched down on top of the grassy hill. Aaron flew his banshee over the base, and started to rain plasma on them.

Martin switched the vision on his scope to Friend or Foe, and found something interesting. He wasn't surprised by the fact that the Friend or Foe vision could see through walls, or the fact that Red means bad, and Blue means good, but he was surprised at what he saw in the main headquarters. A friendly. "Aaron!", Martin yelled into his COM channel "Watch out, we got a friendly in that main building."

"Alright, thanks for the heads up Martin, i'll ask how you knew that later."

Fan-Fiction: The Human-Covenant War, Without The Great Schism. Story of how the war would have been if The Great Schism never happened.

This is the second part of Chapter 2, due to the character limit.....

Yivt 'nufgit looked at the carnage unfolding in his newly conquered base. He saw three Brutes reading fuel rods, when their heads exploded. Yivt shook his head in dissapointment, and walked back to the female survivor of his attack on this base earlier. "You think you are going to be saved?" Yivt chuckled, and looked back outside. A Grunt went for one of the fuel rods dropped by one of the Brutes, and was sniped at the same time it's finger pushed the trigger.

The fuel rod projectile slammed into a corner of the main building, carving a gaping hole, damaging Yivt's shield protection. "Enough of this!, you shall die Human." Yivt pulled out his Plasma Rifle, and took aim at the prisoner.

************************************************************* ***

Martin took aim at an Elite in yellow armor aiming a Plasma Rifle at the prisoner, and shot it in the head.

************************************************************* ***

Michelle screamed as the Elite's head aiming the Plasma Rifle at her exploded. The Elite's finger was pushing the trigger, causing the gun to shoot in random directions. The overheating of the gun caused it to explode, vaporizing the Elite's arm. Michelle took her pocket knife, and slowly cut the rope holding her. While doing this she fell into tears. She remembered the events that happened earlier before.

************************************************************* ***

Flashback: Earlier that day.

Location: Southern Outskirts of Chicago, at Bravo Base.

Time: Minutes after the Covenant arrived in system.

Michelle looked at her BR, and looked into the scope pointed at the ground. She has been watching a bee and an ant fighting for over 10 minutes now. She watched as the ant finally emerged victorious, ripping off the bees head. The ant was smart by taking out the wings first. Michelle watched as the ant walked away with it's prize in a small crack in the floor.

Suddenly Michelle heard gunfire outside. Michelle grabbed her BR and ran outside, where chaos was forming. Marines and Covenant were fighting in the middle of the base. Michelle quickly ran inside, and ran to the second floor of the building, where her room was. She opened her closet, where she stashed a rocket launcher, some grenades, and a pistol.

Michelle quickly loaded two rockets into her rocket launcher, and tried to aim at the ship dropping off Covenant, but to her surprise, she couldn't find it. The Covenant were dropping in from what looked like an invisible drop ship. Michelle took our her pistol, and shot where she thought the invisible ship would be. The bullet hit the ship, temporarily revealing it for a second. The small ship looked like a Super sized Phantom. Michelle emptied her pistol clip into the invisible ship, just to see where the engines were.

After memorizing where the engine was, she took her rocket launcher, and fired. The rocket launcher hit one of the two engines of the dropship. The drop ships invisibility failed, and revealed the dropship. The dropship, now damaged, flew off to retreat. Michelle looked down at the middle of the base, where she forgot about the Covenant troops being dropped in. In the middle were squads of Covenant, now all looking at Michelle after their victorious massacre of the marines in the base. Michelle shot her last rocket down at the squads, killing a bunch of Grunts. The Covenant were now storming the main headquarters, and she was the only marine left alive.

Michelle quickly reloaded her pistol, and went to the far side of her room, aiming her pistol at the door. After a few seconds of silence, a Grunt came running into the room. Michelle shot it in the head, and it fell back. Another Grunt came, this time knowing what to expect. Before being shot in the chest, the Grunt shot Michells helmet. Michelle could feel blisters forming on her forhead.

Michelle took off her damaged ODST helmet, since the screen was cracked to the point where you couldn't see anything. Michelle heard an Elite's footsteps coming up the stairs leading to the hallway which her room was housed in. Michelle got up and hid behind the door. She threw the four grenades she had down the stairs. A few seconds later, she heard a big thump, and Covenant screaming. The smoke came into her room, and threw the darkness she saw a dark figure run up to her, and slam her to the ground. Michelle tried putting her hands over her face to protect her, but it was no good. The figure whacked Michelle in the head with it's gun.

The last thing Michelle saw before going into unconsciousness was an Elite bringing rope towards Michelle.

************************************************************* ***

Nifg 'juntuma yelled back at his coordinator "We can't keep this thing in the air any longer!"

lifn, the coordinator, yelled back "We are going to have to crash land this drop ship!"

Nifg flinched at these words. Even though they succeeded at capturing the Human Outpost, they didn't succeed at protecting the only Stealth Super Phantom in the Covenant armada.

"We are landing, brace yourselves!" lifn yelled into the ships speakers, not liked it mattered, since it was just him, nifg, and a few other elites in the Phantom due to the unloading of troops.

Nifg looked out through the glass, and saw the grass slowly grow bigger. A few seconds later, the Phantom landed, hard. The Phantom flipped end over end, until it was just the bridge intact. There was a long trail of purple smoke and debris following the ships landing. The bridge finally halted.

Inside the bridge, all Nifg saw was smoke, and sparks. Nifg kicked the glass window open, and walked out of the bridge. He looked back and saw the trail of destruction. At least one good thing came out this, they succeded in jamming the Human's Communications Network. Their primary mission was to unload the Jamming bomb into the Human Outpost they believed was one of the communication bases scattered all over earth. They were supposed to do this to three other targeted bases, but their plane backfired when the Phantom was damaged. Nifg's yellow armor shined in the sunlight. Nifg went back into the bridge to check on his brothers. There was a few Elites still left on the Phantom, he only remembered three being in the bridge at the time of the crash. Nifg saw lifn, or what was left of him. The only thing he could make out of lifn was part of his face, and his chest. The rest of his body was mutilated all over the place. Nifg couldn't find the other Elite.

Nifg walked out of the bridge again, only to find two Human vehicles and a Human drop ship waiting outside. "I suggest you put your sorry ass down on the grass before you go to hell!", one of the Humans yelled out. Nifg looked down and laughed. He had no honor left, he had cost the lives of some of his fellow brothers. The last thing he wanted to do was be captured or killed by Humans. The only thing he could think of was suiciding.

"Puny Humans, you shall fall before the might of the Covenant!", was the last thing Nifg said before activating a Plasma Grenade and sticking it to his chest.

The Humans, dumbfounded by the Elite's actions, cheered happily.

************************************************************* ***

Time: Present day

Location: Bravo Base, Southern Outskirts of Chicago

Michelle wiped the tears away after cutting herself free. Why the Covenant didn't use Plasma Shackles she didn't know, but she didn't care either, she was just happy to be free. Michelle saw a Plasma Pistol lying a few feet away from her. She quickly ran and grabbed it, and took out three grunts hiding behind the building.

She saw a Banshee in the air, and took aim at it, when all of a sudden she saw it shoot a green blob of plasma down at a wraith, causing it to explode. "Must be a marine in there", Michelle thought. Michelle saw a Plasma Grenade next to her feet, and picked it up. She saw two brutes heading her away. She quickly activated the grenade and threw it at the Brutes. The grenade stuck to one of the Brutes, causing it to explode, killing the other Brute with it.

************************************************************* ***

"Awwww, those two were my kills", Martin whispered to himself, aiming somewhere else. He was glad the friendly was now helping out in the fight. Now that the second Wraith was finally destroyed by Aaron, this was going to be a piece of cake. There were just a few Covenant baddies left. Martin decided to quit sniping. Martin ran down the hill with his pistol loaded to the base.

Aaron flew over head, and saw nothing moving. He was out of the green plasma shots, and just barely had any plasma for the blue plasma bullets. Aaron was covering the friendly they found while she made her way over to Martin. So far so good. Aaron turned his Banshee around, only to find a group of Brutes running at the unsuspecting friendly. Aaron couldn't take them out in time with just his blue plasma, so he decided to run them over with his Banshee. Aaron flew past the friendly, and turned around, facing the Brutes. Although the Brutes didn't have any ammo, Aaron has seen them rip drives out of vehicles, especially Banshees. Aaron had to be careful.

Fan-Fiction: The Human-Covenant War, Without The Great Schism. Story of how the war would have been if The Great Schism never happened.

Third part of Chapter 2, sorry, but the character limit is killing me!!

Aaron flew toward the Brutes at a low altitude, firing his remaining plasma. He took out two Brutes, and was now in close range of the rest. A few seconds later, Aaron heard some screams, and the sound of bones breaking. "Ha, piece of cake." Aaron suddenly felt a strong grip on his ankle, slowly pulling him out of the cockpit. Aaron held on to the lever responsible for moving up and down. Aaron suddenly felt the banshee go straight up.

Aaron finally lost grip of the lever, and was ripped out of the cockpit. The Brute on the Banshee smiled, and said "This is mine now Human." Aaron couldn't accept this, and took out his pistol and shot the Brutes unarmored leg. Aaron looked out, and was surprised by how high they were. They were easily a 1,000 feet high, and it scared Aaron to think that the only reason he wasn't falling to his death was because of a Brute holding Aaron by his neck, with the Brute's legs and other hand barely holding on to the Banshee.

The Brute almost fell, and screamed at Aaron. Aaron saw the Brutes fist hit his helmet, destroying it. One more hit like that and Aaron was done for. The Banshee suddenly stalled, and flipped over. Now they were falling back down to Earth, and Aaron had to do something fast. Aaron shot the Brute in the other unarmored leg.

This time the Brute lost it's balance, and Aaron shot the Brute's hand that was holding him by the neck. The Brute fell off the Banshee, and dissapeared. Aaron was falling faster than the Brute, and there was no way he could get into the cockpit with this much pressure on him. Aaron shot holes in the Banshees cockpit so he can use them to climb to the wings to hold on. One-Hundred feet before impact, Aaron jumped off the Banshee.

Aaron felt himself flip in the air, and felt his stomach ready to heave as he saw the ground come closer and closer. Finally Aaron landed on the hard cement pavement that made up the bases center. He heard some bones crack, and saw the Banshee hit the ground and explode on impact. The last thing he saw before going into unconsciousness was the Brute he fought with land a few feet away from him, with it's guts exploding all over the ground.

Chapter Three: A Big Surprise:

Location: Mary Hospital, Downtown Chicago.

Time: Two hours after victory at Bravo Base.

**************************************************

Aaron awoke to find himself being watched by Martin and the female ODST they found at Bravo Base. "What....." Aaron asked wearily "happened"

"Well" Martin started, "After your crazy jump off that Banshee, we had to haul your ass back to Chicago, which surprisingly, hasn't been hit yet, although communications have been down ever since the Covenant attacked Earth."

Aaron looked at the right side of his body, where he saw his whole right half of his body was covered in some kind of metal. "What is this thing?"

Before Martin could answer, Michelle went on "That is the innovation of Human Healing, you cracked every single bone on the right side of your body, thankfully, this hospital had one of these metal casts, which will dramatically speed up healing, due to the hundred or so nanorobotic injections you received."

Aaron replied "So, how long will I take to heal." Michelle smiled at Aaron, "Two days." Aaron screamed in joy, "What! That's it?! I thought it would be weeks! I love------", Before Aaron could continue, the sleeping medicine hit him again, and put him to sleep.

Martin looked at Michelle, who also looked at Martin. Martin blushed and looked down. Martin was in love with Michelle. Her soft, blond hair, her blue eyes, Martin never felt this way about a girl. Martin wondered if she felt the same way, but he knew he would have to wait to find out.

**************************************************

Eight hours later

Aaron woke up to find himself in a different room. He checked his body, to surprisingly find part of the metal encasing half his body was gone. Aaron could finally see his arm, and part of his chest. Aaron moved his arm, to find that there was no hint of anything broken.

Michelle walked in, and sat down in a chair next to Aaron's bed.

Aaron saw that something was bothering her. "What's wrong, and oh, I never caught your name."

"My name is Michelle, and I already know your name, Martin won't stop talking about you."

Aaron smiled. "I think he likes you."

"Yeah, I know, I kind of like him too."

Aaron laughed. "Well then, you should ask him out on a date, before it's too late, and oh, that rhymed."

Michelle laughed too. "Already went out on a date with him, he got me some lobsters, which is our favorite food."

Aaron coughed. "I'm more of a meat person than a fish person."

"I see" Michelle responded, and said in a sad tone, "The Covenant hit New Mombasa, and the ship carrying the Prophet of Regret did a SlipSpace jump right on top of the city! From what I've heard, most of the city is now destroyed. The UNSC Destroyer In Amber Clad went after the ship, there is still no word on it."

Aaron looked up at the ceiling. "***...... We'll get them once they come back."

Michelle looked at Aaron with a puzzled face. "How do you know they will be back?"

Aaron looked at Michelle. "The Covenant are relentless, they won't stop until they get what they want, and what they want is to destroy Earth. Like Harvest, the Covenant wouldn't stop till Harvest was destroyed. They fought to destroy Harvest for five years. Trust me, they will be back, with an even bigger force.

"Sir" Michelle started to speak, "The MasterChief went with them through SlipSpace."

********************************************************

Location: Delta Halo

Time: Two weeks after Mombasa Incident

Lizv 'nintan looked at red dot on his viewscreen. "Sir" Lizv's coordinator, Arnf, started to speak, "We have an enemy Destroyer by the Holy Relic that is following Regret's ship, it's engines appear to have failed, it is drifting." Lizv was the captain of the ship The Undoubted Silence, which took part in the battle at the Human World Earth. His ship just exited slispace a day ago, after receiving a massive blow from a MAC cannon. The ship was still being repaired, and currently had no weapons available. "Arnf, zoom in on that Human ship, and report this to the Propeths." Arnf tapped in a few holograms. "It shall be done captain."

NOT PART OF THE STORY!

Okay guys, To save everyones time, i'm just going to get to the part where chief finally reaches the prophet of regret, as there is no point to type in how the chief got there since everyone knows, I also haven't played Halo 2 for years....so I have forgotten a little bit of the journey to regret on Delta Halo......Now, back to the story

******************************************************

The Master Chief smashed his pistol into the Grunt's head with a satisfying crack. The Grunt let out a low scream, then fell to the floor, dead. The Chief walked to the door, where it slid open. One-Hundred feet ahead was his target, the Prophet of Regret, surrounded by two Brutes wielding fuel rod cannons.

The Prophet of Regret looked at the Chief, and laughed. "Ahhhh, so the demon has finally made it, took you some time, but this is where your journey ends!"

With that, the Brute's opened fire. The MasterChief took out his Plasma Sniper he got from one of the Jackals a few minutes ago just after barely dodging a fuel rod shot. The MasterChief took quick aim, and shot the Brute on the left in the neck. The Brute fell back, and shot the fuel rod cannon which was aimed at the other Brute. The other Brute vaporized in the explosion, leaving just the Prophet of Regret alive.

"Demon! You shall pay!"

The Chief emptied what was left of his Plasma Sniper at the Prophet, even though it did nothing. The Chief tried charging at the Prophet, but was suddenly thrown into the far wall.

The MasterChief, dazed, looked at what hit him, and gasped. Master Chief saw the biggest Brute yet, holding some kind of large hammer. The Brute smiled, and grabbed the Chief, lifting him with one hand.

"Tartarus, the choice is yours, let him live, or let him die." The Prophet said.

Tartarus nodded at Regret, and looked at the Chief. "This is the end for you." Suddenly, an explosion blew up a portion of the wall where the Prophet was by. The Prophet's chair flipped in the air, but restabalized. "What demon! More of your tricks? Trying to stall your death?" Regret yelled.

A Pelican flew next to the wall, with Johnson manning the gun. "Chief, get in!" Johnson let forth a fury of lead at Regret and Tartarus, forcing them to find cover.

The Master Chief ran through the wall, jumping on the Pelican. The Chief looked back at the temple he was almost killed in, and looked at the ground. "My mission was a failure.....I didn't kill Regret..."

Johnson got off the gun as the Pelican's hanger doors closed, and put his hand on the Chief's shoulder. "We'll talk about it once we get back to Earth."

The Master Chief looked at Johnson "How will we get there in time."

Johnson laughed. "Didn't you hear? We captured an unarmed Covenant Ship not too long ago, killed all the Covenant uglies on it, and are transferring everyone on that ship, The Covenant can take In Amber Clad, even though it's pretty damaged, I think they will still like it. We have to have every man back on Earth."

Fan-Fiction: The Human-Covenant War, Without The Great Schism. Story of how the war would have been if The Great Schism never happened.

Second part of Chapter 3....

Flashback:

Location: Above the ring, next to unarmed Covenant Ship

Time: Two hours after Master Chief dropped to the ring

Miranda Keyes carefully alligned the ships docking bay to the Covenant's docking bay. After minutes of trail and error, she finally got it in place, and opened the Docking bay's door. The Covenant ship's docking bay was almost the same size as In Amber Clad's, but a little smaller.

*********************************************************

William tensed as he saw the Hanger bay doors slowly open. Him and the other hundred or so marines were to be sent to neutralize all enemy combatants on the ship. Thankfully, all they had to do was get to the control room so the AI "Killing Machine", a smart AI, could be delivered into the system to ventilate all the oxygen out of the ship, neutralizing the Covenant onboard. Williams was the one holding the AI. With the AI chip inserted into the back of his helmet, he felt confident. All marines had a Space Operations Suit (SOS) equipped so they can breathe while the oxygen and air pressure went down.

The hanger bay doors finally opened, and the Marines charged into the Covenant ship.

Suddenly all out chaos erupted. Marine and Covenant soldiers fell down dead left and right. The Marines had a severe disadvantage. They were in the open, the Covenant were on the higher floors hiding behind cover.

William looked at his BR, thanking god that he had this gun. William peered through the scope, and emptied his round in five jackals with Carbines. William saw a plasma grenade being activated by a Grunt, so he quickly reloaded and shot the grenade, killing the small group of Grunts.

While trying to reload again, William saw a plasma bolt hit his BR, melting a hole right through. William dropped the BR, and took out his pistol, shooting the Grunt trying to kill him.

William looked around, and saw dead Humans and Covenant alike. William, knowing the marines were going to lose this battle, called for a retreat. The Marines slowly made their way back to their own ship. William was the last one to leave the Covenant ship, making sure the survivors went ahead first.

William took cover by the hanger bay door walls, and randomly shot his pistol across to the Covenant Ship.

"Miranda!, we are going to need reinforcements!" William checked the bio signs of the Marines. There were only fifty-seven bio signs left that still had a green line zigzagging up and down. William saw the doors to the hanger bay open, and out came about two-hundred extra marines.

There were still plasma bolts whipping into In Amber Clad. William peered his head out behind the wall to see what the Covenant were up too. He saw a Wraith slowly going across the Covenant hanger bay into the Human hanger bay. William looked around to find a Scorpion parked about fifty feet ahead of him. William quickly got to the tank, and entered the drivers seat.

"William, what the hell do you think your doing? That scorpion isn't cleared for us to use!" Miranda yelled into his helmet through the COM channel.

William answered calmly "I think I have a solution to that Wraith coming across to our ship."

With that cleared up, William drove his Scorpion to the hanger bay, being careful not to squish anyone unfortunate enough to get in the way. William was almost in the hanger bays connection path, so he aimed the Scorpion cannon towards where he predicted the Wraith would be once he seen it.

After a few seconds, William saw part of the Wraith, and shot. The cannon zipped past the Covenant troops in front of the Wraith, hitting the Wraith before it even got a chance to shoot. The debris and explosion killed some of the troops by the Wraith.

"Okay Marines, let me go in first, everyone follow me! If there are more Scorpions, bring them!

William shot his machine gun at a group of Covenant survivors, tearing them apart.

"Hahaha!" William laughed. "I love this tank!"

William saw another Wraith in the Covenant's side of the hanger bay pull up. With cat like reflexes, William shot the Wraith, causing it to explode, damaging one of the doors that were locked, causing it to open. Inside that hallway, William saw it filled with Elites ready to fight. William shot a cannon in that hallway, killing the Elites.

William watched as the light purple hallway turned into a dark black and violet colored hallway. The ceiling in the hallway collapsed, crushing the bodies of the Elites. William finally drove his Scorpion into the Covenant ship, where it was bombarded by plasma. One cannon left, William wanted to make it count.

William shot at another door that was locked, knowing it was the only way the Marines would get a chance to get close to the control room. Luckily, there were no Covenant in that hallway. William jumped out of the Scorpion, and hid behind a Covenant weapons box. The Scorpion exploded, sending debris flying everywhere. The two-hundred and fifty or so Marines that followed quickly started shooting at the Covenant on the higher floors. Where ever a Covenant soldier fell, another seemed to take it's place, as it seemed so to William. There were twelve doors in the Covenant hanger bay, including the two William destroyed, one of which was useless now that the ceiling blocked access to and from it.

"Okay Marines, if we are going to get anywhere, we have to clear the Covenant on the higher floors." Three Scorpions arrived in the hanger bay, driving around the destroyed Scorpion and Wraith, destroying the upper floors with their cannons.

A plasma grenade thrown from a Grunt hiding behind cover landed inside the drivers seat of the Scorpion. The driver was only halfway out of the Scorpion before it exploded, vaporizing the driver and part of the tank.

After about five more minutes, it was quite. Hundreds of bullet casings and holes made by plasma littered the Covenant hanger bay. William whispered into his Marines COM channel "That isn't all of them, there are plenty more in this ship....just waiting for us to come, so keep your eyes peeled, if you see anything funny, don't hesitate to shoot."

William whispered to his AI, "Killing, scan the area, see if any Covenant are alive."

"Scanning perimeter.......Nothing is moving sir." Killing responded a second later.

William looked around at the destruction. Two Scorpion tanks destroyed, Two Wraiths destroyed, hundreds of Covenant dead.

WIlliam checked his Marine's bio signs.

There were only one-hundred and eighty-five green lines zig zagging.

"Okay Marines," William ordered, "Fan out, I want seventeen Marines going through each of those doors once I go and unlock them all, we are going to take this ship."

Sorry I couldn't write more, life's been a little busy, I'll try and write more either tomorrow or Friday. It'll be unlikely that I will tomorrow, seeing as I come home from school at six and eat. Then I'm going to go to the mall XD. Friday is a likely chance though.

Chapter Four: A Major Victory:

Location: Earth

Time: Two weeks after First Battle of Earth

*********************************************

"So it took them two weeks to get to the second ring?", Aaron asked Michelle curiously.

Michelle nodded. "Sir, we even found an unarmed Covenant ship floating by the ring. Currently, our men are docked with the Covenant ships hanger bay, and are fighting for control."

Aaron inhaled a long breath. "Any word on the Chief."

Michelle suddenly took her gaze off Aaron, and looked at the windows, at the city below them. They were on the top floor of the Aeris hospital, the tallest hospital on Earth, standing at 1,517 feet. They were to be here until called in for further orders. Until then, Aaron wanted to have daily checkups, to make sure his body was fit to fight.

"Sir..... The Chief tried going after Regret...but was ambushed..... Luckily, Sgt. Johnson came with a pelican and saved the Chief. Last I heard, they were heading to the Covenant vessel."

Aaron smiled. "Well, at least that's one good thing."

Michelle still kept her gaze at the floor. "Sir....I think you should see this." Michelle grabbed a remote, and aimed it at the wall. The wall was filled with a crystal clear image of the ring. In the middle in big letters was the word play.

Michelle pressed a button on the video, and the image turned into a movie. "This was just after In Amber Clad exited SlipSpace."

Aaron looked at the ring. "Okay? I've seen this ring before, nothing special."

Michelle sighed. "Just keep watching."

Suddenly on screen, a huge dome appeared by the ring. It looked like a massive mushroom.

Aaron's eyes opened wide, and Aaron moved closer to the wall. "WTF."

"Yeah.....I already showed Martin, he said the same thing. It appears to be some kind of Covenant city. To make matters worse, it is guarded by Thousands Covenant warships."

Aaron's jaws dropped. "So....after seeing this, I automatically lose all hope that Humanity will win this war."

Michelle looked at Aaron. He was right, She herself didn't know how Humanity will survive against the Covenant. "From what we've gathered so far, the Covenant call this thing High Charity."

Aaron looked out at the windows. "We are about a month with our technology away from High Charity...... This thing probably has twenty Covenant SlipSpace generators..... But one thing is certain, we are doomed."

Michelle looked sharply at Aaron. "Sir, if we are going down, we aren't going down without a fight."

********************************************

MasterChief finally got off the Pelican and onto In Amber Clad. The Chief took one quick look around, and jogged off to Sgt. Johnson, who was just getting out of the pelican.

"Johnson, I'm going to take this pelican out around the ships, I'm going to make sure there is nothing out there."

Johnson nodded, and ran off to find Miranda Keyes.

The Chief got into the cockpit, and flew off into outer space. The Chief flew quickly around the ships, making sure nothing was there. The real reason he was out here was to take a look at the mushroom shaped structure by the ring. The Chief walked back to the back of the pelican, where the television was set by the hanger doors.

From this distance, it looked like a small dot. But with the help of the pelican's high magnification camera, he could see it as if it was just a few miles away. The Chief studied the structure, and the many warships surrounding it.

"Must be important." The Chief whispered to himself.

A hand touched the Chief's shoulder. "It is, whispered the voice." The Chief recognized the voice as non-human, and quickly turned around and elbowed the creature. Suddenly, a figure slowly appeared from cloaking. It turned out to be an Elite in black armor.

The Elite smiled at the Chief.

The Chief growled. "How did you get in here?"

The Elite crossed his arms. "When you tried to assassinated Regret, I cloaked, and jumped onto your pelican, although I did not know you would go back into space by yourself."

It was silent for a few seconds.

"Tell me Demon, why do you study High Charity so strongly.", The Elite asked, amused.

The Chief thought for a moment. "I've never seen anything like it, It's pretty well guarded for a piece of trash." Deep down inside the Chief thought it was very well built.

This pissed off the Elite. The Elite screamed at the Chief. "In the name of Thel 'Vadumee, you shall be captured!" The Elite took out a metal stick, with electricity glowing out of the sharpened end.

The Elite charged at the Chief, and the Chief tried to take the stick away from the Elite. The Elite anticapted the Chief's moves, and swung the non-electric end of the stick upwards, making the Chief miss his grip.

The Elite then kicked the Chief in the stomach, sending him flying into the side of the pelican. Before the Chief could get back up, he felt electricity coursing through his veins. He felt like all of his muscles were slowly being ripped out of his body. The last thing the Chief saw before blackening out was the Elite taking out Plasma Shackles.

Fan-Fiction: The Human-Covenant War, Without The Great Schism. Story of how the war would have been if The Great Schism never happened.

Part 2 of Chapter 4

William and his Marines finally got to the control room. After an hour of fighting their way to it, they finally made it. William put his AI into an open slot, and the AI popped up. It looked like the Grim Reaper.

"Okay guys," The AI said, having a long echo in his voice, "Everyone, make sure you have your suits on properly, I will be ventilating the oxygen out in one minute."

A minute later, William heard a whoosh noise as the air escaped into the vents leading into space.

The AI smiled. "I will leave the ship airless for five minutes. Also, I closed In Amber Clad's hanger bay doors for five minutes also, so no oxygen leaks in, so don't be expecting any reinforcements if something happens."

The five minutes William waited felt like it took an hour. Finally, after five minutes, William heard the air whoosh again. William heard the AI whisper to everyone's helmet that it was safe to breathe now without the helmets.

"Miranda", William whispered in his COM channel, "We have secured the ship, lets get everything we need moving into this ship, we're going back home."

******************************************

Two hours later

Miranda took one last look at In Amber Clad until the hanger bay doors closed. Miranda yelled out in the now empty Covenant Hanger Bay "Killing, set us a course back to Earth."

The AI answered back through speakers Miranda couldn't see in the Hanger Bay, "Aye, We will be back home in two weeks."

Miranda looked down, and whispered, "Better than a month....or more...,. Chief, I hope your ok.

Miranda looked over to Johnson, who now entered the Hanger Bay.

"I can't believe I let the Chief go by himself..... Who knows what could have happened to him."

Miranda put a hand on Johnson's shoulder. "It's been a busy day, get some sleep. The Chief will be ok."

Johnson looked up at Miranda. "Are you kidding? The Chief is a Spartan, not a god, even I have my doubts of him escaping that mushroom thing, he would need a miracle."

Miranda had to agree with Johnson, he was right. She too had her doubts about the Chief this time.

Miranda took her hand off Johnson's shoulder. "I guess we better pray then, we can't wait here for him, and you know that, we have to get home."

Johnson flinched at these words. "Yeah.... I guess your right, so when are we entering SlipSpace?"

Suddenly a voice rang out in the Hanger Bay, "In five seconds.", answered Killing.

*********************************************

The Master Chief awoke to find himself standing, with shackles on his arms and legs. The Chief heard a lot of noise, then silence. The Chief looked up, to find thousands of Covenant in front of him, all barricaded behind Plasma Shields.

"Ahhhh, so you awake, Demon." Spoke a voice behind the Chief. The Chief turned his head left, to find a Prophet staring back at him, a bit frightened, yet excited.

"That is the Prophet of Mercy, and behind you is the Prophet of Truth, and in this direction....well..... you know who I am." A voice came out.

The Chief turned his head right to see the Prophet of Regret, his target just a few hours ago. Behind Regret, was the Chieftain with the big hammer that fought with the Chief in his attempt to assassinate Regret.

The Chief wondered, where is the Elite that took him down.

The Prophet of Truth floated in front of the Chief.

"This Demon!..... Is responsible for the destruction of one of the holy rings! And the murder of thousands of our Brothers!"

An uproar of hatred exploded from the audience. The Prophet of Truth made a gesture with his hands, motioning them to be quite. Truth then motioned Mercy and Regret to follow him. Truth entered a room, where the massive Brute with the hammer stood in front of, guarding it.

Although they didn't know it, the Chief had excellent hearing, and could hear what the Prophets were talking about.

The Chief recognized Truth's voice. "If we kill the Demon now, we may never open his suit, and we may never recover the AI that is in alliance with the Demon. I say we let him live, and study him for now."

"You make valid points," Mercy started, "But watching the Demon in a cell isn't going to do much good."

"Blasphemy!" Regret yelled. "We shalt not let this Demon live for another second after the desecration of the hol-----

"Silence!" Truth demanded, "I have an idea, but it may shake the very foundation of the Covenant. I propose that we let the Demon free in the city, this way, we can study him like a test subject. We will have twenty Brute War Chieftains and Twenty High Council Elites guarding the Demon, as well as Tartarus and the Arbiter guarding him."

All the Prophets agreed, and stepped out into the open. The Chief was glad he had his helmet on, as he had a wide smile on his face. He already knew what was coming. He just wanted the Prophets to know that this might be the biggest mistake they may ever make...... Letting a Spartan into the open.

Fan-Fiction: The Human-Covenant War, Without The Great Schism. Story of how the war would have been if The Great Schism never happened.

Chapter Five: Redemption (Part One.)

Location: Imperial District of High Charity

Time: One Hour after the MasterChief's release.

The Chief walked around the marble made streets, and looked on at the city before him. Every single Covenant being that saw the Chief stopped what they were doing, and stared at the Chief. Some looked at him in hatred, while others looked in curiosity. Some even looked in inspiration at the Chief. Whenever a Covenant being got close to the Chief, either a Brute War Chieftain or an Elite High Councilor growled and yelled at them to go away.

The Chief saw a Grunt running to him, waving his hand while doing so. The Grunt didn't even get within five feet of the Chief, because one of the Brutes stepped on him.

"Cool", thought the Chief. "My enemies are my bodyguards, how nice."

The Chief crossed a street, and looked up at a big tower. It was built strangely, half the building was on an angle, the other half was straight.

Then he noticed something out of the corner of his move on top of the flower shop he was standing by. His bodyguards saw it to.

One of the Elites threw a Plasma Grenade on top of the roof, and suddenly purple blood gushed from the top. Part of a Jackal's arm landed next to the Chief, still smoldering.

That's when all hell broke lose.

Two Chieftains next to the Chief had their heads explode. An Elite took out his Carbine, and shot a Jackal hiding behind what looked like a vending machine.

A flurry of Carbine ammo and Plasma Sniper ammo flew threw the air. The Chief saw an alleyway, and ran into it. Behind him, he heard footsteps chasing after him. The Chief looked behind him, only to see the three Elites chasing after him get shot in the back by a Plasma Sniper. They all fell down, dead.

The Chief saw some stairs, and ran up to it, quickly going up the stairs to the roof of a building.

On top of the building, the Chief saw a Jackal wearing a red robe shoot a bullet from it's sniper. The Jackal looked at his Sniper, growled, and threw it down the building. The Jackal turned around, and looked at the Chief, and smiled.

The Chief's saw the Jackal ready to speak, so the Chief listened.

"We your friends, we help you, come, follow." The Jackal said eagerly. By the way the Jackal tried to speak English, the Chief could tell he was new to it. The Jackal jumped off the roof of the building onto another building. The Chief followed.

The Jackal jumped off the roof of the building into the alley way, where he ran into what looked like a sewer hole. The Chief also jumped off the building, only to find three Jackals waiting.

"Go," One wearing a blue and white striped robe said. "We protect, you go."

The Jackal threw a Carbine at the Chief. The Chief looked at the Jackal, and nodded. So many thoughts were swimming in his head while he was following the Jackal with the red robe. The Jackal activated a Plasma Stick, and slowly walked through the sewers.

After about five minutes of walking, they arrived at a dead end. The Jackal put his hand in the middle of the wall, and suddenly the wall came to life. Instead of the stone and moss covered wall it once was, it slowly twisted and turned into a Plasma Barrier. The Jackal put his hand on what appeared to be a hand verification device. The Plasma shield lowered, and the Jackal walked in, motioning for the Chief to do so also.

The Chief flicked on his lights after the Plasma wall came back after the Three Jackals who protected him came back in. The Chief looked around, to find something he did not expect.

The Chief saw computers, Jackals working with chemicals, a weapon testing range.

"Come", The Jackal with the red robe ordered the Chief. "We much talk now." The Chief followed the Jackal to a small room, where there were two other Jackals waiting inside.

The Jackal in the blue, red, and white colored robe stood up from behind his desk, and raised his hand to the Chief."I am Hobatuka" The Master Chief shook it, and nodded at the Jackal, who motioned the Chief to sit.

"I know you have many questions", The Jackal started. "We don't have much time, soon they will be here, so only ask important questions."

The Chief thought for a second, and asked. "How do you know our language so well?"

The Jackal smiled. "The Library of Perpetuity, of course. We have studied you Humans for quite some time, we know a lot about your language."

The Chief suddenly felt a chill run across his back. "So..... Why did you want to save me? I though you hated my guts."

The Jackal smiled, and cleared his throats. "We do, not as much as we hate the Covenant though. We are the Dark Brotherhood, the Jackals who decided to break away from the Covenant. My tribe was the most populated tribe in Jackal History. Due to our way of life, the Covenant thought of it unholy, and decided to try and wipe my tribe out. And of all places! They tried to do it here! This was years ago, and we stayed hidden, slowly rebuilding our tribe for the Day of Revenge. This is where you come in."

The Jackal stopped, drank from his glass, and started again. "We knew you were a valuable asset to the Covenant. The reason they let you free was to study your behavior. Now if I were to choose between killing a Human, or a race from the Covenant, I would pick a race from the Covenant. In order to have our Day of Revenge be completed, we must have you out of here, alive, away from the Covenant. This will be the ultimate payback. Now, ask any questions you may have in store for us."

The Chief had to think. The Jackal just answered most of his questions in that little story. "Okay then, how many Jackals are still left in your tribe?"

The Jackal inhaled deeply. "I sent One-Hundred Jackals to go out there and save you, most were probably killed. I only seen three comeback. In total, we have about five-hundred Jackals left in our tribe. Most are sleeping right now in the corridors that go deep underground. The lab you've seen, is very important in our success. We have weapons the Covenant do not. We are testing ways to make ourselves stronger, kind of like how you have become."

The Chief shivered. The thought of Covenant Super soldiers freaked him out.

A Jackal came running into the room. "Hobatuka, I think they have arrived." The Jackal looked at the Chief. "Come, we have some weapons for you I think you will find very interesting."

*************************************************

Thel walked down to the sewer, ready to break someones neck. Thel looked down at his shoulder, to make sure the bleeding stopped. During the assault, Thel was shot in the shoulder, causing one of his arteries to explode, causing massive bleeding. Thankfully, a medical Huragok was there to help him with his wound. The medical Huragok couldn't finish healing Thel's wound, as Thel couldn't wait any longer. He wanted to find the Demon, and silence him forever.

Tartarus was hit in the neck, and almost died. He was taken away by a group of Huragok. Last Thel heard, Tartarus was going to be ok.

Thel didn't care, all he cared about was finding the Demon.

Thel activated a Plasma Stick, and motioned for his Stealth Elites to go down the different paths.

After a few seconds, Thel heard a scream. Thel ran to the source, and looked down at the group of Stealth Elites who took the left path. They were on the flood, covered in a blanket of Plasma. They were slowly being cooked, and Thel couldn't do anything about it.

Thel looked up at the ceiling, which dropped the Plasma on the Elites, and shot it, although it did nothing to help.

"Fellow Brethern!" Thel yelled into his hand. "Get out of those corridors, they are traps!"

After a few seconds, groups of Stealth Elites appeared back to Thel.

"Good", Thel said to the Elites. "Now, we will stick together, no one move away, we shall kill the Demon together."

The Elites nodded, smiles creeping over their faces.

Thel and his group walked to a dead end. Thel looked closely, and put his hand in the middle of the wall. Suddenly, the wall turned red, and yelled something in the Jackal language. Thel couldn't understand what it said, but it didn't matter. Two Plasma turrets slid from the wall, and opened fire on the Elites.

An Elite next to Thel was hit in the chest, and it fell back, it's figure appearing from it's cloak, with a hole going through his chest.

"Retreat!" Thel yelled at the Elites, as a few more went down.

The Elites slowly made their way out of the sewer, where a group of pedestrians looked about. All the Elites were cloaked, but Thel could see purple blood floating in the air. The blood of his Brothers on cloaked Elites always freaked him out. It reminded him of bloody ghosts. Thel started out with thirty stealth Elites, there were only Eighteen left.

Thel looked around at one Elite who's cloaking failed. The Elite was a Zealot.

Thel walked up to the Elite. "What is your name brother?"

The Elite looked at Thel, and answered. "My name is Nifn sir, I come from the state of Vadam."

Thel was interested. "As do I brother."

Nifn smiled.

"Nifn," The Arbiter started, "I want you to go and get me some siege mortars, It's time that the Demon shall pay."

Chapter Five: Redemption (Part 2):

Location: High Council Chambers

Time: Shortly after the Chief's escape

The Prophet of Mercy slammed his fist on the table. All the Elite Honor Guards looked in curiosity. The Prophet screamed. "He has escaped into the sewers?! I say! No more Mercy for him, he will die!"

The other two Prophets nodded. The Prophet of Regret started. "Yes, he shall pay, Order all units to kill on site, no hesitation."

The Prophet of Truth coughed for a few seconds. "Don't worry brothers, last I head, Thel is getting some siege weapons to break into the sewers, lets watch shall we?"

The Prophet of Truth motioned for an Honor Guard to bring him a holographic display. After the Honor Guard set it down on the table, it flew to the wall, and expanded. The display showed Thel ordering Elites down in the streets. Then it showed a siege mortar put in place. The screen watched the purple ball of plasma hurdle down into the sewer.

The Prophets started to have grins. Then Truth spoke. "Brothers, I will need you two to stay here and monitor the Chambers, I am going to go fly down to the streets in my chair, I'm tired of riding ships. I must go help them.

The other two Prophets nodded.

************************************************************* *****************

Hobatuka smiled, and pressed a button on the wall as a siege blast hit the wall, almost breaking it. Nothing happened.

The Chief looked puzzled. "What was the point of pressing that button?"

Hobatuka turned around. "We have a new technology, which in your language is called a mirage. What I activated is going to make this whole lab seem dark and empty. We are the only ones who can see the lab. We will assassinate anyone who comes."

The Chief nodded, and looked down at the Covenant weapon he was holding. It was like nothing he has ever seen. The Chief tested this gun in the weapons range, surprised at the results.

His gun can shoot at up to mach one, has no overheating, and no recoil. Best of all, there is no reloading either, and there is enough ammo to last about two hours of nonstop shooting. The Chief studied the gun. It looked like a UNSC smg, but was bigger, had green and purple plasma lines running through it, and weighed twice as much.

The Chief also made note of the projectiles it shot. It shoots invisible plasma. The "bullets" are like those of a regular plasma pistol.

Suddenly, the door exploded, and all the Jackals hid, waiting. A cloaked Elite entered, looking around. It wasn't cloaked anymore. Due to the Mirage, a light green outline went around the Elite. Then two more came.

The Chief smiled. He loved the gun he was holding, especially due to the fact that it made no noise when used. The Chief aimed, and quickly shot the three Elites. All three of them had no faces as they fell to the ground.

Another cloaked Elite came inside. The Chief's language filter kicked in as the Chief listened to the Elite. "Arbiter, there is nothing here. All I see is emptiness, and------" The Elite looked down at the three dead Elites.

Before the Elite could say anything more, the Chief shot, blowing his head off. The Chief heard chatter in the Elites radio. "Brother! Come in! What is your status?"

Suddenly the radio stopped, and a plasma grenade flew in, landing on one of the Dead Elites. The grenade blew up, causing the grenades from the dead Elites to also blow up. The radiation from the grenades caused the mirage to fail, revealing everything.

Hobatuka yelled out at everyone. "Retreat into the tunnels! I will blow the lab up once they all come in!"

Hobatuka never told the Chief about the tunnels, so the Chief followed everyone else. A few minutes later, they finally arrived at the tunnel entrance. Behind the Chief were about three hundred Jackals eagerly waiting to leave. In front of him were about two hundred. Finally, the Jackal in front unlocked the door.

The massive stairs the Chief was walking on slowly went inward, to create a ramp. The door opened, revealing a massive silver tunnel, able to fit four scorpions in it all the way across. Everyone ran in. The Chief seen Hobatuka, running to the ramp. Three Brutes were chasing after him.

The Chief took out his plasma gun, which the Jackals called it a Ninchikata. The Chief took care of the Brutes, and Hobatuka dove into the tunnels as they were closing.

The tunnel closed as suicide Grunts were running to it. The Chief heard some explosions on the other side of the wall. "Stupid Grunts."

Hobatuka looked at the Chief. "Thank you, but we must keep moving, we have a ship on the other side of these tunnels, and we must move quick, before the Covenant break through the doors. "

The Chief and Hobatuka caught up to the Jackals running through the tunnels. "How far is this ship?"

Hobatuka pointed to where they were running to. "Maybe a minute or two of running."

The Chief thought for a second. "Okay, so how exactly are we going to escape this place? They got security everywhere, it's impossible."

Hobatuka inhaled deeply. "As I have said before, our technology surpasses that of the Covenant, we have only one ship, and this ship is very advanced. It can do a SlipSpace jump in High Charity, and escape with ease, oh, I almost forgot."

Hobatuka took out a device with a green button, and pressed it. Suddenly, a deep rumble ricocheted through the tunnel. Hobatuka laughed. "I love these explosives!"

"Well..." The Chief started, "Once they clear the debris from the now destroyed lab, they might still get through, and are the doors leading to this tunnels now destroyed?"

"Your right, they could." Hobatuka replied, "And yes, the doors are destroyed, but it will take them a while to get past the debris, by then we would have probably escaped."

"So, what happens to me once we escape?" The Chief asked.

Hobatuka looked at the Chief, hesitated for a second, then answered. "Well, we were planning on killing you once we escaped, but since you saved me back there from the Brutes, I will let you pilot a Phantom. The Phantom has a SlipSpace Engine that is far more better than a Covenant ship."

The Chief was shocked. "Your were planning to kill me?!"

Hobatuka smiled. "We thought you wouldn't be worthy of being alive, and would just let us die in battle, but after seeing you save me, I see you somewhat cared about us."

The Chief stopped running, and looked at the ship. He couldn't stop but stare at the way the ship was built. The Ship was in the shape of a very skinny and long pyramid.

"So, when do we leave?" The Chief asked.

Hobatuka replied. "We still have to prepare the jump and everything, so maybe about an hour."

Miranda Keyes woke up after a long sleep.

"Rise and shine" Sgt. Johnson called out to Miranda.

"Whaaaaat?" Miranda whispered in a sleepy daze. Johnson splashed some cold water on Miranda, who finally was wide awake.

"Johnson! You better have a good reason for this, or else!"

Sgt. Johnson smiled, "look in the view screen."

Miranda turned around, and looked. She saw a desert plane, with some cactus trees in the distance. "Where are we?"

Johnson grinned. "Well, we thought the jump from that ring to Earth would take weeks, but it turned out to only take about a day. Turns out, this ship has a very advanced SlipSpace Engine. We got here about an hour ago. We were stuck in orbit for three hours arguing with the UNSC to let us land! They wouldn't believe we were really Humans, until Lord Hood finally came. Right now, we are at Area 51, back on Earth."

Miranda was suddenly filled with excitement, and ran up to Johnson and hugged him, then blushed and let go. "Woah lady, there is enough of me to go around, just not now."

Miranda brushed off some dirt from her shirt. "Now what?"

Johnson smiled. "Now we get ready as fast as we can so we can kill some Covenant uglies!"

****************************************************

"Aaron, Martin, we have new orders." Michelle spoke to them as they finished with their drinks. "We are to fly over to Area 51, word is that the crew on the ship In Amber Clad took over a Covenant ship, and brought it back to Earth, safe and sound."

Martin looked at Michelle. "Cool, so why do we have to be there?"

Michelle replied with a grin. "We have a new mission, they want the best of the best."

Part 2 of Chapter 5 (part 2)

Thel finally awoke, minutes after the explosion, and looked around at the carnage. What was once a lab was now burnt metal. Around him lay the bodies of Grunts, Elites, Brutes, Jackals. Thel heard moaning, and saw some Brutes and Elites injured on the ground. Thel stood up, and spoke into his communication device stuck on the armor protecting his right wrist. "Prophets........ The Demon has escaped....... The Rebel Jackals blew up the lab as most of my squads were entering, most have died, I still hear some survivors. I need a demolition squad to blast the debris leading to the tunnels."

Someone answered back. It was the Prophet of Truth. "Arbiter..... You have failed once again..... Do not worry, I will be there momentarily. You will not need a demolition squad, I will blast the debris."

The Arbiter shivered. He did not know what Truth would do to him once he arrived. Thel hoped he gave him another chance. The Arbiter tried looking around, but it was too dark. Thel couldn't make out where exactly he was.

Behind him, debris exploded, and Truth came in. Truth through a few Plasma sticks in the room, and saw the Arbiter, standing, still in good shape. Truth looked around at the injured. "Weak!" Truth shot a Brute moaning under some rubble. "Arbiter, I want you to kill every single injured combatant that is here, we will not have any weak soldiers."

This was one of the times the Arbiter was glad Truth was too lazy to learn about his language. The Arbiter spoke in his language. "To anyone who can understand, please, do not moan, I do not want to kill you, keep quite for now."

Truth looked at the Arbiter. "What? What did you say? Tell me!"

The Arbiter growled, pretending to be mad. "I told them to prepare to meet the gods."

Truth smiled. "Good, good, now killing them will be a bit easier." Most of the moans slowly stopped now. There were still a few, most coming by Brutes. The Arbiter walked around, killing all that moaned. Everyone finally got the idea to not moan, so they stopped.

"That is all, hierarchy", The Arbiter said, bowing down on one knee to Truth.

"Good." Truth smiled. "I may actually have some use for you now."

"Hierarchy, this lab is massive, we aren't even that far down in it, it will take hours to go through this mess-----"

Truth stopped the Arbiter. "Arbiter.... You have much to learn. Obviously you have never seen my weaponry, now stand back."

The Arbiter ran behind Truth just as he fired his lazer. The lazer hit some debris, and caused a massive hole through the debris.

"Arbiter, we shall reach the tunnels shortly, do not fret." Truth spoke as he fired another lazer.

Tartarus ran up next to the Arbiter. "Hierarchy," Tartarus spoke, out of breath. "I have gathered hundreds of drones to assist us in reaching the Demon, just tell me when to send them in."

Truth looked at Tartarus, and nodded. "Excellent, we shall have our revenge."

Twenty minutes later, they finally reached the tunnel.

Truth looked at Tartarus. "Send them in."

"Yes Hierarchy." Tartarus replied.

***********************************

Hobatuka yelled out. "Thirty minutes till we leave! Do not let your guard down."

A loud noise suddenly filled the tunnels. A few jackals ran inside to check on the disturbance. A few seconds later, part of a Jackal's head flew back by the ship.

Hobatuka looked at the head, and quickly recognized the bit marks on it. "Everyone! Yanme'e are here! Everyone to their stations!"

The Chief was standing on the ship. His job was to protect the engineer Jackals as they went to work preparing for the jump.

The Chief didn't know what Yanme'e meant, until he saw what the Jackals were talking about. Drones.

The hundred or so shades that guarded the hanger bay opened fire as Drones were pouring in. The Chief started shooting randomly in the tunnel with his Ninchikata, knowing he would take out some since there were alot in the tunnel.

Chaos rained everywhere. Purple and green plasma flew in and out from the tunnel, and around the Hanger bay.

Hobatuka yelled out into the intercom. "Ten minutes and we can leave, just hold out!" Hobatuka then played an ear piercing noise only Drones could hear.

All of them fell and started squirming around in the ground. The Chief and the shades started to take them out. Suddenly, the massive Brute the Chief encountered back when fighting Regret ran into the open, and threw a bubble shield. He then threw a small bomb, which exploded, sending little blue sparks everywhere. Chief's shields failed, and his hud turned off.

"EMP blast." Masterchief thought.

The Drones got back up, and started to fly around, killing engineer Jackals. "***.... The EMP blast must have shutdown the intercom too...." The Chief thought as he took down five more Drones. As the Chief was aiming at the massive Brute with the hammer, a green blob of plasma hit his gun, causing it to malfunction.

The Ninchikata started to glow blue. The Chief threw it into the tunnel, and suddenly the tunnel lit bright blue for a few seconds. An engineer Jackal behind the Chief was picked up by a Drone. The Chief watched in horror, and a little bit of satisfaction, as the Drone ate the Jackals head, and dropped it's body. The Chief jumped up and landed on the Drone.

The Drone, having too much weight on it, fell back down, and landed hard on the ship. The Chief hammered his fist down on the Drones head, crushing it. The Chief took it's Plasma Pistol, and fully charged it at an incoming Drone. The Chief shot, and the Plasma hit. The front half of the Drone's body vaporized in a green explosion. A Drone came behind the Chief, and tried lifting him up, to no avail.

The Chief back flipped to where he was on top of the Drone. The Drone struggled to keep flying, but failed, and landed hard on the ship. The Chief felt a squish, and saw brown blood oozing from the Drones midsection. The Drone stopped moving, and the Chief grabbed it's pistol, now having two in his hand.

The Chief looked around at the mess. Hundreds of Drones lay dead on the ship, and around the hanger bay. More Drones were coming out of the tunnel, and soon they were overwhelmed. Slowly the fire from the Shades stopped coming, and it was only down to the Chief, Hobatuka, and a few Jackals.

Masterchief looked at Hobatuka, who had a remote with a green button on it. The Chief knew what Hobatuka wanted to do, now he knew why Hobatuka had him stay on top of the ship and protect the engineers. Hobatuka put the Chief on top of the ship so that in the situation where they can't escape, Hobatuka can destroy the ship, killing Chief too, having his revenge on the Covenant.

The Chief didn't like this idea, and didn't care about Hobatuka's revenge. All he cared about was fighting for survival, and he wasn't going to go down without a fight. The Chief jumped off the ship, and Hobatuka yelled out in anger, and pressed the button. The ship exploded in a massive blue explosion, causing the ground to explode outwards, wrecking the hanger bay.

Hobatuka now wanted his revenge fullfilled, and started to shoot at the Chief. Behind Masterchief, was Hobatuka, in front of him was the the massive Brute with the hammer. The Chief barrel rolled to the right, and the Jackal shot the Brute, which now wanted Hobatuka dead. Hobatuka started to empty his Plasma Pistol into the Brute, who had a shield protecting him.

The Chief watched as Hobatuka's Plasma Pistol overheated, and Hobatuka yelled and threw it at the Brute. Hobatuka backed up into a corner, and put his hands out to the Brute, begging him not to kill him.

The Brute didn't care, and swung his hammer down on the Jackal. A little crater formed where the Jackal once was. Purple blood gushed out on the walls. The Brute screamed in the air, and pounded his chest in victory.

The Chief looked around. He was the only one left.

Fan-Fiction: The Human-Covenant War, Without The Great Schism. Story of how the war would have been if The Great Schism never happened.

Chapter Six: Last Chance (Part one)

Location: Jackal Hanger Bay, deep inside High Charity.
The Chief looked around at the Drones, who now planted their "feet" firmly on the walls, yelling at the Chief.

The Chief looked in front of him to see the massive Brute with the hammer ready his hammer to attack.

Behind him came the Prophet of Regret. "Tartarus, give me a second here to speak to the Demon."

The Brute grunted.

"So that's his name...", The Chief thought.

The Prophet of Regret smiled at the Chief. "Ahhh Demon.... So we meet again.... You almost escaped, but what matters is now, and now you are trapped, with no way to get out. Alas, I shall let Tartarus have the last laugh.... This will be a most interesting duel."

Regret looked at Tartarus and nodded. An uproar came from the Drones, who were excited to watch.

Tartarus screamed, and charged at the Chief, swinging down his hammer. The Chief grabbed it with both hands, and struggled to keep it away from him.

Tartarus yelled, and swung his hammer up, with the Chief still on it. The Chief lost his grip, and front flipped in the air, landing on his back.

The Chief took out his two Plasma Pistols, and charged them up as Tartarus came running at the Chief.

The Chief, with his back still on the floor, shot the fully charged Plasma Pistols at the giant behemoth.

The two giant blobs of green impacted the shields protecting Tartarus.

The shields failed for a few seconds, and came back on. Tartarus grabbed a black stick like object from behind his back.

It had some fire on top of it as it flew through the air at the Chief at a dangerous speed. The Chief rolled away from it as it exploded on the ground, releasing spikes everywhere. The Chief's shields went down to half, and before he could react, he was kicked in the stomach by Tartarus.

The Chief flew to one of the walls, creating a hole. The Chief, now dazed, saw Tartarus charging, with his hammer over his head, ready to swing it down. The Chief quickly reacted by getting out of the wall, and jumping over Tartarus as the hammer swung down.

To the Chief's surprise, the AOE of the hammer sent the Chief flying a few feet away from where he intended to land.

The Chief stumbled as he landed on his toes, but quickly got back up.

The Chief suddenly got an idea, and wanted to quickly apply it.

The Chief checked his Plasma Pistols, and saw that they both had just one more fully charged attack left. The Chief had just one Plasma Grenade left.

Tartarus put his hammer behind his back and started to walk calmly to the Chief. "Cmon Demon.... I thought you were much scarier than this."

The Chief wanted to anger the Brute. "I thought your stupid gods were scary too..."

The Brute screamed, and charged at the Chief, both fists opened to grab the Chief.

When the Brute came just a few feet away from the Chief, the Chief fired his Plasma Pistols, and immediately threw a Plasma Grenade at Tartarus's head.

To the Chief's dismay, only the armor on Tartarus was destroyed.

One of the Drones on the ceiling got mad about this, and decided to open fire on the Chief.

"Do not interfere!" Regret yelled at the Drone.

The Drone continued to fire, ignoring Regret's order.

Regret aimed the Plasma gun on his chair at the Drone, and fired. The impact not only killed the Drone, but some Drones around it, creating a massive hole on the ceiling.

The Chief looked up as smoldering pieces of bugs came down in his "Arena."

Within the body parts, the Chief saw a Plasma Pistol, and quickly ran to it.

The Chief aimed at the Brute, who was now in what the UNSC called, "Rage Mode."

The green blobs of Plasma that hit the Brute still didn't stop him. The Brute grabbed the Chief, listed him up in the air, and started to choke him.

The Chief tried to fire at the Brute again, but the Brute grabbed the Pistol and crushed it with his other hand.

The Chief needed to do something, fast.

The Chief kicked the Brute in the face, and the Brute just barely loosened his grip on the Chief's neck.

This was all the Chief needed.

The Chief front flipped out of the Brutes grip, and landed on his back. The Chief ripped the hammer out of the Brute's strap, and swung it down.

The Brute landed on the ground, with a small crater forming.

The Chief swung down his hammer again, and this time bits and pieces of the Brute flew out everywhere.

The Chief was exhausted, barely having enough strength to hold the hammer.

Suddenly, the Drones stopped their screaming, and stared silently at the Chief.

"No! How can this be! You have defeated my finest warrior!" Regret yelled at the Chief.

Next to Regret, the Elite in the black armor grunted. Regret just noticed the Elite.

"Arbiter, capture this Demon, we shall deal with him accordingly..... Do not fail me...."

"So he is called the Arbiter huh?" The Chief said to Regret.

"Silence! Do not speak!" Regret yelled at the Chief.

"I just did." Was the Master chief's reply.

The Elite in black armor suddenly went invisible. The Chief looked around for any sign if movement, and saw some to his right.

The Chief swung down his hammer, and the Elite flew in the air, his cloak now failing.

The Elite quickly got back up, mumbled something, and went invisible again.

Suddenly, the Chief felt a strong arm grip around his neck, and felt another rip the hammer away from his hands. Two Elites in gold armor appeared out of invisibility. The Chief elbowed the Elite that was gripping his neck in the eye. The Elite screamed, and the Chief twisted it's neck.

The other Elite took out it's Needler, and fired at the Chief. The Chief grabbed the Elite's arm holding the Needler, broke it, and took the Needler out of the Elite's hand.

The Elite grabbed it's broken arm, and fell to the ground. The Chief emptied the Needler into the Elite on the ground, and watched as a purple explosion sent guts flying around.

The Chief turned around to try and find the Arbiter.

Before the Chief could react, the Arbiter kneed him in the back, sending the Chief falling on the ground.

The last thing the Chief saw before going into unconsciousness was the hundreds of Drones watching everything suddenly fly off the wall towards him, causing his vision to go from a sickly green to a dark black.

Fan-Fiction: The Human-Covenant War, Without The Great Schism. Story of how the war would have been if The Great Schism never happened.

Part 2 of Chapter 6 (Part 1)

Location: Mausoleum of the Arbiter

Time: Two hours after the capture of Spartan-117

"So, the execution begins in just a few minutes?" The Arbiter asked, a smile creeping across his face.

"Yes, you have done well Arbiter, may your name be written down and prayed upon in history for countless millenniums to come!" Regret answered happily.

The Arbiter bowed down. "What of the Human planet Earth? And what about Tartarus?"

Regret's smile suddenly went away. "Tartarus...... He was a fine warrior..... I don't think I can find any one else as good as him...... I guess for now, you shall be my only protector, and as for Earth. I have a plan, but it may cause a great deal of anger to the Covenant."

The Arbiter stood up. "What do you mean?"

Regret sighed. "I plan to take the holy Forerunner Dreadnought to Earth, to finally end this pathetic war."

The Arbiter's eyes widened. "Surely hierarchy, there is another way, if you take the ship, High Charity will barely have enough power to sustain itself, have you talked to the other Prophets about this?"

"Yes." Regret started, "And there is no other way... The Great Journey requires sacrifice! If the gods require High Charity to be sacrificed, then so be it it will!"

The Arbiter stamped his foot. "But surely hierarchy, you must----"

Regret looked at the Arbiter, and growled. "Do not argue with me Arbiter.... We have made our final decision..... But do not fret, we will bring back the Forerunner Dreadnought."

The Arbiter knew he couldn't argue anymore. "As you wish, hierarchy. May the gods lead us to victory."

Regret nodded. "It is time for the execution!"

******************************************************

The Chief woke up, to find himself standing, held up by Covenant shackles. In front of him lay floors upon floors of Covenant beings, all yelling at the Chief. It was like he was standing on a cliff, there was no ground in front of him. If he was to take a few more steps forward, he would fall hundreds of feet to his death. In the distance, the Chief could see the massive Forerunner ship, and couldn't help but stare at it's interesting architecture.

To his right, the Chief saw Regret, two other Prophets, and the Arbiter enter.

Regret stood in front of the Chief, and turned around to the audience. The Chief saw cameras floating around Regret as he started his speech.

"Dear Covenant, may our fear of the Demon now be swept away. Behind me, I have the Demon, who is just moments away from execution!"

Regret moved aside, and the cameras turned around to look at the Chief.

The Chief heard a massive uproar of "boo!", and "kill him!".

Regret laughed and started to speak again.

"The Arbiter is the one who captured him, so he is the one who is rightly accepted to kill the Demon!"

The audience booed the Arbiter, but cheered at the fact that the Chief would die.

The Chief was puzzled, and did not understand why they would boo the Arbiter, who seemed like the leader of the Elites.

Regret motioned for everyone to quite down. "Now, I must also issue another matter, please, do not be angered by our decision. We all want this war with the Humans to end, with the Covenant defeating the Humans. We are going to end this war soon, but we must take the Holy Forerunner Dreadnought to Earth. We cannot explain why, for there is too much to explain, but we must take it to the last Human world! We shall take it just before the Demon is executed, we cannot waste any time."

The audience got quite, and the Masterchief's heart sank.

"If they take that thing to Earth, there is no way we can win this war, I have to do something, now." The Chief thought to himself.

Regret pressed something on a stand next to him, and a big green tunnel quickly came from the Forerunner Dreadnought to where Regret was standing.

Regret grinned at the Chief. "You are lucky Demon, that we cannot laugh at you while you die, but we have better things to do." Regret moved his chair inside the tunnel, and was quickly sucked in, flying through it. The other two Prophets quickly followed.

The Arbiter stood in front of the Chief. "Prepare to die."

The adrenaline was already flowing through the Chief. His heart started pumping. He could hear it through his armor.

The Arbiter took out his Plasma Sword.

"Perfect." Thought the Chief. The Chief needed the Elite to use this weapon.

Just as the Arbiter lunged at the Chief, the Chief used all of his strength to move the shackle holding his right arm in the direction of the sword.

The sword cut the metal part of the shackle, freeing the Chief's right arm.

The Audience gasped as the Chief took the sword out of the Arbiter's arm, and cut himself free from the remaining shackles. Behind the Chief, dozens of Honor guards came running, with Plasma Swords and Plasma Rifles in their hands.

"I have no time for this." The Chief thought, and looked at the green tunnel.

"My one way ticket to Earth."

The Chief pushed the Arbiter out of the way, and ran into the green tunnel. The Chief was surprised by how fast he was flying through it.

The Chief looked down, and saw the city hundreds of feet below him fly away from him.

The Chief looked behind him, and saw some Honor guards behind him.

One of them shot their Plasma Rifle at the Chief.

The blue blob of Plasma was slower than the speed of the tunnel, and slowly went back to the Elite that shot it.

The Elite tried to squirm out of the way of the incoming Plasma, but to no avail. The Plasma slowly cut through the Elite, and continued on it's path, hitting other Elites.

The green tunnel started to dim a little. The Chief looked at the Forerunner ship. He was almost there.

The green tunnel finally went out, and the Chief was now in free fall. The Chief went into a superman formation, and glided towards the nearest Forerunner ship hanger bay. The Chief looked behind, and saw the Honor Guards also falling in free fall, although not towards the ship, towards the city hundreds of feet below.

"What a bad way to die." The Chief whispered in his helmet.

The Chief looked in front of him, he was almost inside the hanger bay.

A few seconds later, the Chief landed.

The Chief felt some of his armor slowly rip away from the impact.

The Chief slid for a few more seconds, and finally stopped when the floor finally stopped slanting.

The Chief got up, and checked him self, and was surprised at the damage to his armor.

The Armor protecting the bottom part of his neck was missing. There were some dashes and scrapes on his armor. He was just happy he made it inside alive.

The Chief walked inside the nearest room, and turned on his flashlight. There was a massive T.V. in the room, and on the screen was a picture of Earth. The Chief noticed a red dot on the Earth, and looked at the location. It looked like the dot was somewhere in Africa.

The Chief suddenly started floating.

They were heading to Earth.

**********************************************

The Arbiter watched as the Dreadnought left High Charity. The Arbiter screamed in rage. "I have failed yet again!" An Honor Guard Elite standing next to the Arbiter pushed him. "Yeah! I can't believe they put you in charge of executing the Demon!" The Arbiter punched the Elite in the face, and screamed as the Elite fell on the ground. The Arbiter smashed his foot on the Elite's head as hard as he could, flattening the Honor Guard's head on the ground. The Elite stopped twitching.

The Arbiter walked to the elevator, and pressed the button that would take him to the city. Hopefully his anger could loosen in the city.

**********************************************

The Gravemind laughed. The moment he has been waiting for has finally came. He has been waiting for years for High Charity, or what he is going to soon call Flood Charity, to let loose that Forerunner ship, which was the main power generator for High Charity.

Unknowingly to the Covenant, the Gravemind had infested the heavily damaged In Amber Clad, and prepared it for it's final use.

The Gravemind was planning to crash the Human ship inside High Charity via Slip Space.

He laughed at the Covenant's idea that their "gods" prohibited them from using Human made things. The Covenant left the Human ship to float in space over the rings, thinking that it was officially no threat. The Covenant however, had no idea that the flood existed on the ring.

The Gravemind had sent 2401 Penitent Tangent to oversee the preparations for the crash.

In just a few minutes, the Gravemind would have his biggest prize yet.

Yeah, I wanted to have a Title that explains what the story is about, and I don't really know how to do that except with that title, if you can give me a good idea for a different title, I would greatly appreciate that.

Thanks for reading my story btw, hope u like it so far.

No, acnboy. Spartain Ken 15 is a lesser being. Much like the bacteria that lives in your shit.

My shit bacteria takes offense to that comparison.

Don't make me lel. You won't like me when I lel.

A place of inactivity, and people not getting recognised for their work. I didn't realise this was a fanfic! Anyway, shall read the rest now.

can I offer some constuctive criticism? Use your pronouns more, try to refrain from using the charcter's name too much. Aside from that, what I've read s far is great! This is a really good idea.

Yeah Random, you can offer some Constructive Criticism. Yeah, I've noticed I keep saying "The Chief" before almost every sentence related to him, I'll try and use Pronouns more, and ty all for your opinions!!

Oh and Wolver, thanks lol, you do know I am Distant Storm right?? From the Halo Wars Forums.
