So Reach was a major UNSC Military Planet. Sure, it probably had cities with civilians and all that but it was largely a Military planet.

It was also a major shipyard. Ships assembled and were transportd out of there.

I was wondering, wouldn't it be cool to fight in an abandoned Automated Shipyard that's still operational? All around you, Ships's be assembled and Cranes, Construction Equipmen and Bridges will be moving about and occasionally, finished ships will take off to some pre-determined location.

This area could involve a chase, on-foot, involving some Covenant Leader and end with your Squad being tricked into getting stuck in a ship that gets assembled compleely while they are still inside. Covenant manages to get it to launch into space, while the Squad is still stuck inside, for laughs and to end off the chase.

Oly Oly Oxen Free

ha ha classic halo ending.

Every single game (bar odst) ends with "protagonist drifts in space"

Even halo wars!

So why not reach, too?

Haha that's true actually. I never realized that. Though, this is not supposed to be the ending. Its supposed to be like a comical moment of exchange between the Squad. And should, ideally, end with a Drop from somewhere mid-orbit down to the Surface, ala Halo: First Strike, in beautiful First Person Perspective :D

I think you got me wrong. I guess I didn't say it properly as well. Abandoned by human personal but the Shipyard is still automated, so its still running and doing stuff, just that there are no Civilians there.

Human maps are always welcome in my book!

HELL YES!! It would be a great area to fight in Halo: Reach.

the shipyards were in orbit so i would love a space map

And it could translate into a great multiplayer map. I picture something similar to Longshort, but with more stuff going on. Maybe a Longshore inspired map?

Wouldn't the shipyard be in space because its more cost effective to build things, especially large massive cruisers in freefall than on a planet?

Yea, didn't think of that. Regardless, land or space, I still think such an area would be an awesome campaign scenario.

Semper Fi.

My problems [with Reach] are basically just full parties, mlg, and people who go out of their way not to get killed.

It sounds good but they would not be constructing ships in the midst of a Covenant invasion. And abandoned shipyard would be a nice fighting location, though.
