Subject: What's your dream Halo Battle?

Obviously many Halo fans have a battle they would like to fight, may it be from a book, something already seen in a Halo game with a slight change, or something you make up yourself. So i am wondering what Halo fans would love to see. This is just to see what many people would hope for in Reach or any possible future halo games (I still believe). Many people like vehicle to vehicle combat, air to air, foot fighitng, group missions, combat forces, or combinations of them. Also post what kind of support you would have, be it a mac gun, ODST snipers, Marines, Tanks, hogs, etc... and if you feel like it, throw in a map design, whats an epic battle without an epic location? I know alot of people are hoping for this, that, and the other thing in Reach, so post some ideas here, who knows what will happen.

Here is my Dream Battle for example.

A large scale battle where you have tanks, hogs, hornets, pelicans, and other UNSC Vehicles fighting against a much larger much stronger Covenant force. Having marines and ODST follow you on foot as Warthogs and tanks go rolling past. Having a MAC gun shoot down to destroy Covenant carriers and phantoms as they rush towards you to stop you, but they dont get everyone. where even on easy you would think "I might get killed in this..." and on legendary you would be crying on the floor screaming for it stop as you are rushed and see everyone dying around you. The map would be a large open area surrounded by cliffs and mountains, where going back is not an option. Maybe a few buildings along the edges to use as cover, but nothing major (Much like the buildings right before the Blind Skull on the first level of Halo 3). If you take to much time, you will die cause your force cant take them down, and you cant alone.

When I say Large scale, i mean your numbers well over 100, and the covenants 300+. Maybe not all at once, but have it so its no cake walk no matter what difficulty your on.

My idea is like many halo players, simple yet fun, something that could take time to do and make campaign seem longer then it is, which alot of people also look for.

So whatever your idea is, post it, and pray to your Halo Games, Books, Etc... before going to sleep like a good Halo nerd should.

Also I love you <3

I don't really know about specific battle... but my dream halo experience would be what Halo 1 was originally supposed to be, before they redesigned the game to be more linear when it became an xbox exclusive.

As is evident from the e3 2000 trailer I think it was more of an open world, nonlinear third person shooter, as opposed to the level-based, confined-to-canyons halo campaigns we got in 1, 2 and 3.

It seems Bungie has been slowly creeping back to their original vision, as is evident by the open worldish campaign experiment they did with ODST. Here's to hoping Reach is what their original vision for Halo was.

much TL:DR in this thread...
I'd just like to play the battle from the "believe" trailer.

Look... I'm on bungiepedia!

Almost anything from Halo 1, as it already has a really powerful and epic feel due to everything being so... strong, just with amazing graphics, and a slightly darker feel (ala Saving Private Ryan's constant explosions in battle, yells of enemies and cries of comrades, chaos, yet an odd sense of control)... that would be amazing. Imagine pretty much any outdoor part of Two Betrayals...

with better graphics and more enemies? But the same handling for vehicles from Halo 1... I was just playing it and they all feel so much heavier. Especially the Banshee. It feels like you're flying in it... not controlling some RC UFO in a GTA game like in H2/3/ODST. Imagine it with the handling of Halo 1 but you could still flip and barrel roll...

to flip, you would need to continually pull back on the dpad, or to roll, press sideways on it, like in other flying games which mimick real life.

The covenant are on reach, and are having fun killing civilians left behind. There are a few marines in the building (An old church or temple would set the mood) with the civilians, and the civilians themselves have weapons; still they're losing when all of the sudden an Elephant crashes through the wall with reinforcements. I think it would be good for an elephant to have a working combat purpose for the game.

Giant Enemy Scarab: Attack its weakpoint for massive damage!

I wouldn't mind being able to play through the Spartans' infiltration of the rebel base in the Fall of Reach. Not as John, but as one of the other Spartans under his command. It'd be a stealthy undercover mission for the most part, and to succeed you'd have to follow John's orders perfectly. Well, until you grab the guy you're looking for and you have to shoot your way out and hijack a pelican.
Kinda like the MacMillan part for COD4.

Nothing to see here, move along.

The final battle in ghosts of onyx would make for some pretty epic gameplay. I would also like to see a mission where you drop pod straight into the heart of an epic battle that the UNSC are losing, where you then proceed to turn the tide of the battle.

Ever see the icon where the guy is getting mad and hitting his key board, his arms start ripping apart then he uses his head and it smashes to pieces? That would be an epic fight to watch. a marine and an elite head bunting each other.

I agree. None of the following Halo games have quite captured the feel of the big battle set-pieces from Halo 1. Final Run on Two Betrayals is my favourite video game experience ever. It's just...... epic.

I love watching the Covenant and Flood fight it out. It really feels like an epic struggle. I'm surprised that Bungie never recaptured this.

In a desert like the one in the halo 3 ad that was on during that foot ball game. The humans are holding a line for kilometers and infront of the. scarabs and even larger like super scarab things are walking towards them, Under are wraiths and other large vehicles. Huge alien ships in the sky. and out of nowere, hundreds of speed boosting ghosts smash through the humman line.

It would be cool to have a battle were you drive or ride in a pelican, and the covenent have a phantom, and have have a bunch of grunts, brutes, and other covenent fighting your teamates on the ground. And there could be banshees and hornets fighting in the air, and have a bunch of veticals and turrets on the ground and after about 10 mins in the pelican you go on the ground to fight.
