This thread is full of bad kids and lulz

Did you seriously just say bad kids?

Go back to the Halo 3 forum. We don't need trolls in the Reach forum.

Sorry but is defines everyone I MEEN EVERYONE that doesn't like flag throwing and juggling. You guys are so dumb you don't even know what it is called.

Flag throwing and juggling are as halo as the HCE pistol Scruby little punks that get owned all day in H3 and hit y on BR spawns wouldn't understand that.

Why is it when people start of a sentence with "Sorry, but" they aren't sorry at all?

You can just leave too if you are going to substitute a well thought out post firmly based in logic and reasoning with petty insult throwing and trolling.

S-P-ACE! SPACE!

Flag running is a legitimate tactic, it's not annoying and doesn't hurt the CTF gametype.

Do you assume Bungie wanted you to be able to be able to move at normal speed? They made the flag carrier slower for a reason.

Their counter to this is apparently since Bungie didn't fix flag running from Halo 2 to Halo 3 they must have intended for it to be in the game.

Terrible arguement.

It's quite astounding how you have not recognized that a good amount of people on this forum have brought legitimate points to the table.
Let me start off that I have no problem with it.

For one thing people find the constant flag stolen and flag dropped announcement annoying. Maybe it's not that way for you but just because you can't hear the dog whistle doesn't mean that the dog can't hear it.

Bungie did not intend for the flag to be used in this way. If they wanted you not to be vulnerable while carrying the flag then they would have allowed you to shoot while carrying it. It is not a glitch in a sense but it is a misuse of the intentional gametype. They modified it to make you move slower for a purpose.

I'm sure you wouldn't understand the detrimental harm the battle rifle has added to halo multiplayer. While yes it is quite the powerful weapon and is balanced, but only balanced against other br's. Which is great for competitive games as well as tournaments. The thing is though it limits the player to that one option and a back up plan. They BR is a little too optional in the game, and it makes the game a little more repetitive. The defining thing about halo is that it had a strange variety of weapons and vehicles that required you to think fast on your feet and mix things up a bit. But when you add a weapon that takes that mix and drops half of the weapons makes the gameplay half as fun for players not looking to compete with the other team for dominant victory. It is a good weapon, and it takes skill to take on another person who also has a BR, but the advantages it has over other weapons and the extreme availability it has on nearly every map takes out what made halo an amazing game.

Skill is not needed to make a game fun. You could be the worst player ever and still have the time of your life. But when that one person in you party joins in and uses nothing but that ultimate equalizer and then mocks you for not using it usually mandates a response of anger and frustration. Halo needs a break from the BR, not completely, not like ODST. But try to leave the mix it up playlists as their own. MLG styled battle is partially intruding on these grounds whether you think so or not. At the least make the quantity of them on the maps a bit smaller.

In halo 2 it was called flag bouncing because with enough height you could make the flag bounce across the floor quite the distance. While in Halo 3 it is juggled to use the advantage of walking faster. No matter what you call it, it's all the same.

"Scruby little punks that get owned all day in H3........wouldn't understang that."

So suddenly you are the master of all players and without a doubt your superiority is shown through your online stats? I'm sure you wouldn't understand the concept of how when some people are annoyed by something that they want to fix that seeing how you deny all others recommendations and consider them as scrubs.

Flag juggling/bouncing is as HCE as the battle rifle, as in it didn't happen until Halo 2.

Your rank means nothing to anyone aside from yourself. Take that into consideration when you try to assume other people as scrubs.

Just ignore the fool. Some Rank Bigot Badass who's idea of a solid arguement consists of testimonies by Generals and abstract subjective qualities like skill isn't worth the wall it takes to point out his multiple failings.

Breaking barriers.

Why fix what was intentionally implemented into the game.

I think we should abolish your respiratory system, it's functioning too well...

Find me a kid with a 50 outside doubles and slayer that agrees with you and I'll consider it worth talking to a bunch of BKs mad because they don't know how or can't on their 1 sense.

get out of here stalker

What about keeping flag bouncing, but instead of returning the flag by waiting next to it, you can just pick it up and walk it back to base?

Interesting idea, could make a great option for custom games.

I don't neccesarily see how that really solves anything though that has to do with flag running.

When a person bounces the flag, you have a quick opportunity to take it back while it's on the ground. It could also take a moment to pick the flag up after it's been dropped. It would also make getting the flag back easier or harder, as anyone with a bubble shield and shotgun is safe when guarding the flag, and if you don't have any good weapons, you'll be killed very quickly because of the complete horde of enemies.

I'm xAssault12x, and I love the Halo Universe. Discussion please!

I am a legit 45 and I never use -blam!- strategies like flag running. I pick the flag up and just run like I'm supposed to. Flag running takes NO skill. Anyone can do it. All you do is just push a couple buttons really fast. People say it is legit because there is a down side that people can allways see where you are. That is not true. If there is the slightest bit of lag in a game then the flag symbol never shows up on my screen.

The flag carrier is supposed to run slow and be vulnerable in order to give the defending team a chance to catch up. If Bungie ment for flag running to be in the game then why bother to make someone run slow with the flag? No point.

Flag running is for people who are way too concerned about their rank. It is just another way to cheat the game to get your rank higher. I never did it and I am a 45. I play people all the time who are 45s and suck at Halo unless they do -blam!- stuff like flag running. I win in a legit game.

Flag running and anything like it is just like standbying, superbouncing, and BXRing in Halo 2. The people who defend these things are the same people that would suck without them. Half my friends never had a chance against me in Halo 2 unless they BXR and superbounced. Same stuff happens in Halo 3. Play the game like it was ment to be played. We all know there are dumb little things that we can do to cheat the game but doing that just makes the game suck. BXR, BXB, Standy, and Superbounce ruined Halo 2 for all the people who like to play a good honest game. Don't be lame and try to ruin Halo 3.

This is the major problem I have with flag running too. How would your opinion change if the game was designed to ensure that the flag waypoint is visable constantly while someone is flag running, possibly by making the way point dissapear two seconds after someone picks up the flag instead of immediately after they pick up the flag?

So long as its properly balanced by Bungie, I don't see why it shouldn't be there, it adds a wee bit of tactical depth. But yeah, if it stays like it is now? I'd rather have it removed.

Oh, and you might want to leave skill out of your arguement, its not very good to back up your claims with a subjective abstract concept.

I see now. I dunno, when I think of flag running, its just the guy picking up the flag dropping it in front of him picking it up and such. Not much of a chance for a defender to swoop in and grab it from him without getting a flag in the face.

But still, interesting idea for custom games.

It takes more skill to run the flag at the slow speed and not drop it than to run drop run drop.

Spartan119 the Red Raven.
"So officer tell me how it feels to be at the wrong end of that barrel?"

well on topic what are ways we can prevent flag bouncing or juggling or WHATEVER those "pro's" wanna call there loop holes and gliches?

ive gone back through and believe that the cant pick up the flag for 2 seconds after it was dropped is the best cause well this allow's for the flag to move around and fall of of a bridge and be all wavy but constrics flag bouncing and other abusive stuff.

"Oho, I'm a PrO sKiLlEd MLG pLaYa who flag runs, so I'm going to disagree with this guy cause I can't score the flag any other way".
Stop the BS please people. It cheats the system. When you're holding the flag you run slower in the default Halo 3 gametypes. Sure call both of us "noobs" (look up the definition of "newb" for me would you) but that doesn't change the situation. It just makes you feel better about yourselves. I personally agree with the OP and think that flag running should be abolished in Reach.

its not cheating stupid kid.
It takes skill.

How the -blam!- deos it take any skill i pick up a flag and drop and pick it up again that was hard wow I dont think I can do that over and over annoying the -blam!- out of everybody else with flag taken flag dropped flag taken flag droped flag taken flag droped

That is the way to do it if it were to be done.
Theres still the issue of convincing people that it should be done this way however. I mean, I'm for tactical depth so long as it is intended and balanced, and Bungie could do this in Reach.

But if it comes down to it, if its going to be like Halo 3, I'd rather have flag running removed.

Just because you get annoyed of the announcer saying,"Flag Dropped, Flag Taken," doesn't mean its not gonna happen. I remember when I was annoyed because of it, and I thought it was useless. But now I have realized that 'flag bouncing' is a legitimate tactic. Get over it. Or don't play CTF ever again.

Uhhhh I'm not really good at objective and I can't adapt, lets destroy CTF by making it impossibly hard to cap on a decent team.

And once again another gametype would be destroyed for MLG. How about you learn to play the game instead of -blam!-ing about how other people play it better. Objective got removed. You kids make it clear you hate thinking and just like spraying and praying so stop trying to destroy this games competitive mertits. Not that I will care much. I am looking forward to playing a game made by a better studio after H3. I will wait till the beta to decide if I should chuck this series forever. Will be trading in ODST. Still holding onto my beloved HCE and H2. So many good memories. H3. Nothing relative to the game. They did so much to take FUN out of this game.
You know, I've got nothing against MLG, but it's people like you that give it a bad name.

Its these forums that give casual gamers a bad name. All you kids whine about everything that someone else does better than you. You don't understand game play at all on any basic level. Ala the anti BR threads everywhere. While the BR isn't the answer to competitive gaming you fail to understand the BR isn't the real problem. It is a lack of other useful weapons created with the implementation of duel wielding.
Again, you're not helping your cause by being an elitist and insulting other users.
