Thnx for the awesome sig Smyf!

and now it is my duty to completely drain you

I will not buy Halo: Reach if they remove Flag running/juggling/whatever the hell you want to call it. It is not a "porblem" retard OP, its a tactic, a very useful tactic.

Flag running is a legitimate tactic, it's annoying and hurts the CTF gametype.

2.being unable to pick up a flag until 2 seconds or so after it has been droped.

This.

Flag Running can be easily avoided if a few things happen for Reach:

1) Don't alter the running speed of the flag carrier.
2) Only allow a player to pick up a flag from the front.
3) Put a time-delay on the flag disabling the ability to pick up and drop it.
or 4) Remove the repetetive sound by not allowing the audio clips to compound on themselves.

yeah i'm with Redraven on this one, CTF was so much better without flag bouncing. It completely ruins the game type. Sure it gives away your position but in a big CTF map there are always warthogs or some kind of transport and in smaller CTF maps there are rarely any vehicles. Which in turn makes smaller maps more popular for flag bouncing, making it difficult and ruining the game.

Good topic!

First off, its been around since Halo 1 I believe.

Second, if its on a smaller map and they are flag juggling and you think its unfair then you just suck, its on a small map and it gives away their position and they are still going slower than normal speed so that should help you more than if they don't flag juggle on a small map because if you don't know where they are then you won't get there in time.

Flag running was in halo 2 and so was bxr. In halo 3 bxr is out and flag running isnt. Its not a glitch you imbeciles. I even seen bungie employees use it. They wouldnt use a glitch in their game. Just think for once.

Where exactly op, did you find out it was unintended? It's been around since H2, if it were unwanted then wouldn't it have been removed. Seems to me Bungie planned for it to be in the games, and I highly doubt they'll removed it for Reach.

  • 10.21.2009 7:26 PM PDT

in halo 1 flag running was discovered. that was 2001. obviously bungie doesn't think it's such a big deal. also anyone who says they can use the BR but chose not to only says that because they cannot use the BR. they say it's overpowered, when it takes about 2.1 seconds to get a freaking kill. the time of a AR beatdown is around 1.4. also don't say that it dominates at long range, because with bullet spread and the incredibly cruddy net code over live, the effective range for a Four-shot-kill is just longer than beatdown range, and anyone who thinks i am lying their was an experiment done showing that at point blank range, over live with the host not participating and 9 people in the game, they could only achieve a Four-shot 179/200 times, this is at a range so close that the bullet spread cannot possibly be the problem. that is over ten percent of the time that 1/12 bullets do not register over xbox live. someone did the same experiment on LAN and even then bullets didn't register 100% of the time. (I think the numbers were 196/200 but im not sure)

1. Your logic on flag running is idiotic.
2. Your grammar and spelling is that of a 2nd grader.

People told me that B.Net threads were stupid. I didn't believe them. Now I feel like a dumbass for not believing them.

I hate he bungie forums it's full of infection playing noobs that get their highest skill in Lone Wolves.
I challenge anyone tha say's it's dumb to a 1v1 flag game in which the noob walks flag only and the good player(me) runs the flag only, then I cam prove that running flag is quicker and a more successful way to get flag caps.

Flag running is unique to Halo 3.

Halo CE had flag juggling. You had to throw the flag by jumping and releasing it then grabing it quickly once you hit the ground. That was hard to do going around corners and obstacles.

Halo 2 was similar but slightly different. You still had to throw the flag but it didn't go as far. Simply dropping the flag and picking it back up didn't work. You would run right past it. You had to juggle the flag like in Halo CE.

Enter Halo 3. I can just continualy drop and pick up the flag without loosing speed or without passing it by. That is flag running.

LOL....

Let me read that again...

LOL

Why are you even commenting on -blam!- that you know absolutely nothing about? I'm sure you know oh so much about flag running with your 37 games of Halo 2 that were played 1 1/2 years after H3 was released. Its not even a question of whether or not you played CE, its just a matter of getting you to admit that at the most you played some of the campaign. Flag running was 10x easier in the previous two Halos. You could throw the thing like 30 feet in front of you as if the flag were a javelin in the previous two games.

Flag running in Halo 2 was ridiculous. Take midship for example. If you didn't want to take the easy pass of the flag to top mid to a teammate who could score it by jumping into your base in a total of about 5 seconds, you could almost throw it into your bases bottom door from the pick up point of the other teams flag. Lets not forget that since you don't have to worry about picking up the flag any time soon because its going to take you some time to run the distance you threw it you actually have the ability to fight and juggle the flag at the same time.

Lets say instead of doing either of those you actually decide to run it. All you had to do was look up while you are running the flag and it works just as good as it does in Halo 3.

This isn't my first account retard. I played thousands of Halo 2 games and owned Halo 1 a few months after it was released. Flag juggling in Halo 2 was at least a challenege to master and took time to get the hang of. Flag running in Halo 3 is stupid easy. I don't have to do anything but keep hitting a button. Wow, that is soooooo hard and such an amazing skill...

Lame stupidness that should be removed or edited. I don't mind juggling but it has to be hard or it is just dumb. Don't give me a bunch of noob tactics. I want the potentialy beneficial tactics to be hard and risky.

How about all of you level 20s stop crying. If you dont understand why to run the flag then you should quit the game right now. Let Halo be for the people who actually are good at the game. If you are bad at the game why even play it?
