I speak the truth, and truth speaks itself.
The lies disguise what you despise.
Run. Flee and be, what you've always dreamed.
What happens now won't matter later.
What you see will not be, nor what you imagine will not happen.
The end is close, so take your dose.

I wouldn't play the game.

if you are reffering to the brutes, the brutes have been in the covenant since harvest was glassed. not just in halo 2.

This body holding me reminds me of my own mortality.
Embrace this moment. Remember. We are eternal.
All this pain is an illusion.

Taking out elites for Reach, would be like taking out the Warthog, it's not going to happen.

  • 10.16.2009 4:17 PM PDT

Here’s what Luke had to say about the differences in treatment between the Spartans and Elites in Reach:

“Instead of piece-by-piece customization like the Spartans, Elite customization is a full model swap with models selected from the various Elite classes appearing throughout the Campaign. There are all kinds of reasons for this, not the least of which is our continued emphasis on the Spartan as your identity in Reach.”

*sadness*

There is no need to explore this possibillity because there will be elites in Reach. It hasn't been confirmed, but they have no reason for not including them.

The Elites weren't in ODST because Bungie wanted to save them till Reach so they could improve the AI a ton so we would be suprised by their abillity in combat.

I'm a 15 year old stuck in the middle of nowhere. Machinima director, screenplay writer, novelist, jazz musician, and Photoshop junkie.

Honestly I wouldn't play campaign. Fighting against Brutes is boring as -blam!-. Elites are smarter and more fun to fight.

Fail. Let's have a history lesson.

A small group of Prophets, after leaving a civil war amongst their kind in the Forerunner Dreadnought, encounter the Sangheili upon their planet. Instantly, the Elites see the way the Prophets use Forerunner technology as heresy, and wage war on the Prophets. Eventually, as the Forerunner technology beats their own, the Elites are forced to, in turn use Forerunner tech. They then realise that the whole war is therefore pointless. The Prophets and Elites ally themselves together, and form the Covenant. The next species to be assimilated are the Grunts. Then so on, so on. Brutes are the most recent to join Covenant ranks.

My problems [with Reach] are basically just full parties, mlg, and people who go out of their way not to get killed.

Canon has been violated!

uhhh no they werent in ODST because the brutes killed them all once regret left. thats what bungie says.

Naturally that is the reason for why elites are not in the game from a canon standpoint. If Bungie had simply announced "There are no Elites in Reach", people would have begun saying "But there were elites in Halo 2 why weren't they on Earth?" so Bungie came up with a reason that fit in with the canon why they weren't in the game.

But, they could have included them in the game if they wanted to, right? Its not like they were programming the game only to find that the Brute AI kept killing the Elite AI because the prophets ordered them to, right? But they didn't. Why? It would have taken too much time to program AI for Elites (as enemies, not allies) and would have delayed ODSTs release. Better to release ODST with only brutes and save something nostalgic and awesome like elites for Halo: Reach.

and it wouldnt kill you to have some fun once in a while just sayin. let lose.
I am having terrific fun. Do you have any idea it is to crush someone in an iron fist of logic and reasoning all while defending yourself from attacks from all directions? Its nearly as fun as playing a game of Baduk.

Plus, its good practice for English and typing. I try to incorporate elements of my English 101 class into my post writing on Bungie.net so my arguements are sharpened, clear, and deadly. Why practice english writing a paper when you can practice english fending off an army of angry internet people fighting to the death over how they want Reach to turn out?

Listen, if I criticized everybody for their spelling and grammar, I would run out of characters for my post, and besides, its a smart alec thing to do that pisses people off unneccesarily.

So I usually refrain from doing it. Usually.
