Will Halo:Reach have much improved sound effects?

The human weapons have never sounds as good as games like CoD, Ghost Recon, or RB6.

The plasma rifle used to sound punchy! In Halo CE it had a very satisfying sound. Since Halo 2 it has been very weak sounding. It has no low end to it anymore.

The gravity lifts in Halo 2 had a much cooler sound. The Halo 3 lifts sound bland. The Halo 2 sound effect was brought back in ODST. I hope they stick with it. Do you remember how cool it sounded when someone jumped in to the lift on Colossus? Very cool sound effect.

The Lagg gun in Halo CE sounded much better. PUNCHY!!! I may use that term a few more times. Its the truth though.

This is the big one to me. Cool, atmospheric sound effects that normally bring games worlds to life have been drowned out by music, music, and more music. I like a lot of the Halo soundtracks. I just think its way too much. Less is more. The world feels alive when you can hear it. Jump into a muliplayer map alone and just listen to the sounds. The campaign would be well served to do the same. Halo CE had a creepy atmosphere that the other titles have missed on. ODST is closer. But it could still be better.

Okay... this is nit picky for sure. Halo CE opened up with the cool Bungie logo intro. I put that intro up with the THX sound. It was butchered for Halo 2. Butchered. No punch to the drums. Junk, force fit guitar riff over the top of it. I know that intro is long gone. It is just another example of some sound effects being degraded.

Sorry if I offended any big Marty fans.

Oh...you said you like the GRAW/COD/etc. sounds....just turn up the volume loud as heck. You'll like the halo sound effects.

Seriously, that's it.

Were it so easy.

Yeah I know what you mean OP, it's not that bad though. Some sounds are better in Halo 2 IMO than Halo 3.

I like less campaign music, because I like to hear the enviornment and feel of gameplay without music playing most of the time, even if the game music is awesome, I like the feeling without music in the background.

not only the sound of Halo 2 are better, the story the graphics (I prefer those graphics I don't know why xD)the situations the music and well... it have 15 levels... 15 or 14 hours of gameplay... that is a game

there should the the option of turning off the music like anyother game...

I all so loved when a ship came from over your head and was like an actuall ship coming down from your head like that WOOOOSHHHHHHHRRRRRRR sound

I hunt for the Prophet of Contentment, the San 'Shyumm that murdered my son, and stole his birthright, his Energy Sword. They call our species Heretics. They claim to all that our tongues sting, our words a vile poison that feeds on the unworthy. I have seen the true face of Heresy. The head of a gallant warrior lay on the ground. His neck scorched and blistered, scarred by his own blade. I shall retrieve the weapon, and drive it through that bastard's heart! Punishment for his sins is nigh.

So long as the AR and PR sound like the Halo CE versions, I will be happy.

Music? Well it is guaranteed to be epic.

How about some music kicking in when you get a killing spree in multiplayer? that would be fun

No, the AR sounds like dragging 15 large wiffle balls down the road behind your car.

Har Har!!! I think it kind of sounds like a type writer. Just add a bell sound after you empty a clip.

The Halo 2 smg sounded like an atomic pop corn popper.

I'm not big on music in multi.

I'd say have a Campaign music on/off button (I'd leave it on, music makes Halo more enjoyable to me)
