If they are in Halo: Reach, make them BRUTAL!:  78%

I stil hope they're not in Halo: Reach...:  22%

So the past couple of days I've been watching some Halo videos and more specifically the bonus material dvd's that came with both Halo 2 and Halo 3 (Halo 2's being the FARRRRRRRRR greater dvd PACKED with extras!). Then I started reading some of the extra booklets/info they included with the games.

Tonight I was randomly reading the Halo 2 - Conversations from the Universe booklet which I then stumbled upon something veryyyyy interesting. Here, I'll just type out this enire conversation that deals with the issue at hand:

>>>INTERCEPT/TRANSLATION/SUBSPACE-BURST/CLASSFIED/&g t;>>
FORWARD FOR ANTHRO-LINGUISTIC-POLITICAL CHECK.

THIS REPORT IS CLASSIFIED. IT HAS BEEN TRANSLATED FROM AN AUDIO INTERCEPT BY CORPORAL C. ERRERA (DECEASED), A SNIPER SPOTTER IN THE REACH CAMPAIGN.

-----My note: How badass would it be f this guy Corporal C. Errera showed up in Reach?! Answer: Very.

"Why are they so angry all the time?"

"Who knows. They say that the Sangheili and the Jiralhanae are vying for the favor of the Prophets."

-----My Note: The Sangheili are Elites and the Jiralhanae are the Brutes. This is the first piece of evidence IN THE ACTUAL BOOKLET ITSELF supporting the existence of the Brutes and the humans knowing about them during the Reach campaign.

"But the Sangheili have always been the favored of the Temple. No Jiralhanae can set foot there without first passing a Sangheili guard."

-----My Note: Again, knowledge of the Brutes.

"You have eyes, Mehmep, you've seen them bicker and fight. And you have ears, you've heard the disrespect the Jiralhanae show the Sangheili. They hate each other. The Sangheili have lived too long under the shelter of the Covenant as the strongest of us. The Jiralhanae come stomping along and suddenly it's not so simple as it was."

-----My Note: They also know about the disrespect the Brutes show towards the Elites and way their hierarchy functions.

"I'll tell you what's simple, what's simple is that the Prophets have shown the Jiralhanae plenty of favor these last few months. They climb rank faster than the Sangheili, and they are promoted easily. And you know what happened with the Bracktanus fight. He killed a Sangheili in cold blood within spitting distance of a holy place and the matter was simply forgotten by the Prophets. Even a Lekgolo would have been pulled apart for such transgression."

"They kill faster than the Sangheili, that's all it is."

"No, I think it's more than that. I smell trouble and I smell it coming soon. Between an angry Jiralhanae and a slighted Sangheili warrior is no place for an Unggoy to stand. They should parlay and have it done with."

"Ha! The Forerunners will return and anoint us all before they ever sit and talk civilly. I'm thirsty. Let's get a drink at the nipple."

So there ya have it, the Brutes can now have a place on Reach, but if they do... Let's hope the Elites get the spotlight and the Brutes are more... umm... brutal?

Final Note Regarding Poll:
-----This is all of course demanding that the Elites get the spotlight again and are the worthy enemies from Halo 1!

It would be cool if the brutes are on Reach, but I hope the elites are the most important enemy.
PS: Elites are super cool!

Outside? But thats where... light is.
Aussie, and proud of it...(I DON'T BRIDGE!!!!)
I fought recon, didn't t-bag. I. AM. GOD.

4 Games in a row, 2 perfections, 3 running Riots, 1 Rampage, 1 overkill
First Game
26th of August

Having both would be awesome, but i think brutes should be less civilised, and more like Halo 2 brutes

The original BADFINGER! (the second)

-----My Note: The Sangheili are Elites and the Jiralhanae are the Brutes. This is the first piece of evidence supporting the existence of the Brutes and the humans knowing about them during the Reach campaign.

Ummm..... Humans knew of Brutes before they knew of Elites. The proof is in 'Contact Harvest'. So technically the first piece of evidence supporting the Brutes existence and humans knowledge of the Brutes dates back to the first Human and Covenant encounter, which was 2525.

Im willing to put every single cent of my money on them absolutely 110% being in Reach, right along with the Battle Rifle.

lol Actually I meant the first piece of evidence IN THE BOOKLET ITSELF supporting the existence of Brutes in the Reach campaign.

Bacon

I don't want them in Reach. Elites should be the main enemy through the whole game.

  • 10.17.2009 3:40 AM PDT

In high definition baby!

Yeah, huamans been knowing about the Brutes even before Reach. They attacked Harvest (the first planet that encountered the Covenant).

So chronologically they fit anyway. I don't see Bungie taking out a big AI character like the Brutes after years of working/tweaking their AI...

Sure, the elites are going to be back, but can you imagine how formidable if they worked together to kill you?

You know why Halo 3 was easy? The brutes never really were a race of medium ranged fighters, and sucked with carbines. And the jackals? Stood clear out in the open, and had no shields, easy headshots.

But with elites? That can dodge? Take cover? The game would have been a lot harder.

Which is why they must do this in Reach to give our five man squad of spartans enough of a challenge.

not true. as stated in the books and halo wars. the first contact with the covenant was with brutes. This battle was the first battle and fall of harvest. it was the brutes who the humans met first

before elites, before jackals, before grunts. it was brutes that started the war

This is the second time this post happened lol... I meant the first piece of evidence IN THE BOOKLET ITSELF to support the Brutes being known during the Reach campaign...

-goes to fix the original post so hopefully this confusion doesn't happen again-

First contact was with Jackals, not Brutes. The Grunts was the one that technically started the war. One got impatient and shot a marine, if I recall correctly, during a peace meeting.

Et Eärello Endorenna utúlien.
Sinome maruvan ar Hildinyar.
tenn' Ambar-metta!

I'm not sure but you can research (for those who have read the halo books) in "The First Strike" the fleet of 500 covenant battleships that participated in the "Battle of Reach" were heading to earth but were delayed because of the NOVA bomb made effect thanks to Vice Admiral Danforth Whitcomb in the battle of the Unyielding Hierophant: The assault on the station became the Spartan-II's second encounter with Brutes. John was almost defeated by one and Grace-093 took three Brute Shot rounds to her mid section, killing her instantly. The fail-safes in her suit were later activated. The detonation of her mini-fusion reactor killed 12 Grunts and 4 Elites.

So, if this fleet participated in the Battle of Reach, then probably we will see some Brutes in Halo: Reach.

It's also stating that the Spartans never faced Brutes in the battle of Reach. Or at least the surviving Spartans.

I'm reading Contact Harvest but when I read Reach I don't remember reading anything about the Brutes. From my understaning the Battle laster 6-7 hours and then the Covies glassed the planet.

The Game.

uh the humans intercepted the transmission.it was two grunts talking so no duh the grunts are going to understand the hatred between brutes and elites.they also use the elites and brutes own names.my evidence in the text that there was two grunts is the fact that one of them said im thirsty let go back to the nipple or something.
