Why wouldnt Robot entertainment not make the sequel to halo wars since most people that were with ensemble created Robot?

Halo Wars was a great game. I would enjoy sequel very much. A few nice things they could add is a cover system, to make players feel like they're controlling a squad.

It would also be nice if they didn't focus on spamming units. Make units in Halo Wars all valuable by raising the cost of them and adding a "Fall back" button that makes the squad return to base.

Dawn of War 2 is a great strategy game that makes players feel like every unit is important. If there is a Halo Wars sequel, then they should make it more squad and fighting focused, and not army spamming and large scale battles.

Halo Wars also lacked 3 vs 3 maps and different game types. I know there's DLC but come on, why should I spend 8 bucks on what should have been their from the start.

yeah all i do is play 3v3 so i know what you mean. spamming is pretty bad but it was just so the player can feel like they are in the most epic battle in MP. but they did implement the cover system in a few maps mostly 2v2 but the sniper towers also count.

the cut scenes were the best thing in that game sometimes i thought they should have just made a movie.

Halo Wars needs to focus more on the fighting than the actual unit building for the next game.

Also, should Spartans have better reflexes in Halo Reach? Like the ability to disarm enemies, or maybe be able to sprint. There isn't many comands for the D-Pad, so they could add some commands there.

the ability to disarm opponents would be cool in campaign but hopefully if implemented it wouldn't be in MM. i would like to see the animation of you disarming an opponent just like vehicle jacking (maybe even it requiring a series of button mashing patterns who knows)

Yeah, definitely not in Multiplayer, but it could make things very interesting on how you may kill your enemies in Campaign.

Also, I was thinking about a cover/blindfire system for Halo Reach. The only thing is that it would be 1st person. I haven't really thought of how it would work though.

dare i say it if they did incorporate a cover system (witch would be tight) you might go into 3rd person because cover in first person would make it like you are looking at a wall/ (but that kind of turns it a bit into GOW)

It could work like picking up a turret. It might say "Press Up on the D-Pad to stick to wall" or something shorter. The camera shouldn't go too far away so it makes things more intense.

Also, maybe only certain walls can be used for cover. Or even destroyable cover would be cool.

Killzone 2 singleplayer has it and imo it works good. They could make it so if you look down the jump button let you go into cover and when you looking up it would make you jump over the cover. And in open field it will just be jumping something like gears/uncharted they have everthing under one button.

yeah it seems it could work. (to tell you guys the truth i wouldnt mind the whole game being third person like gears)

I love the entire Halo series, Halo 2 being my favorite of the games. I think that the universe is compelling and the story is deep, sweeping, and powerful. The hidden layers in the Halo trilogy and rich details of the backstory in the novels are something I love to be lost in, and im greatly looking forward to the story that Halo: Reach will weave. Bungie has carefully and lovingly crafted a mythic tale that will stay etched in my mind until the end.

I think what Bungie needs to do the most is they desperately need new enemy types.

Halo 3 ODST made me realize this after completing Data Hive in the game. Killing hallway after hallway after hallway of the same brutes/jackels/drones/grunts got very old after killing them so much in Halo 3, then in the campaign of ODST, leading up to the Data Hive level.

Apart from a few new weapons and a couple new vehicles, i think enemy types are needed the worst. Like an elite division of Covenant race that isnt called on very often, thus explaining why they werent in any other game.

Yeah I noticed killing enemies got really easy in ODST because the enemies were so predictable. Brutes were easy to kill because, once their armor was off, they would grown and not attack you for about 2 seconds, which was enough time to get behind them an give them a nice little pat on the back in close quarters.

It would be nice if all enemy units also used cover, and not just Brutes/Elites.

And 343 Studios will most likely be making a Halo Tactical Shooter that will be in 3rd person, to change things up a bit.

i would love the enemies to use cover Odst incorporated some of the cover system mechanic. but it was everyonce in awhile that you would see a brute up against a wall every now and then they would poke their head out.

brutes werent that easy to kill though on heroic

The only thing that cover would do is ruin the fast paced Multiplayer. Most of the maps don't have the greatest amount of areas that you can use cover in.

Maybe it could work if some items could be used as cover.

For example:
You are in forge and you switch the the vehicle section. There would be a few choices that would be called "UNSC Barricade" or "Covenant Barricade". You would place them on the make, and they would act similar to using a vehicle. "RB to stick to wall". Control might be the same as being a passenger in a Warthog, except the 3rd person view would be closer to the characters body. Player can then press the trigger to blind fire, where you would get no crosshairs. You will also be able to peek out, by pressing maybe "Up" on the "D-Pad", and you will then have crosshairs.

What else could be added to Reach to make things more realistic?
