I always though this would be a cool addition to Halo 3, so now I'm asking if anyone would like this as an option in Reach. What I propose is an option in gameplay (turned on in the CUSTOM GAMES ONLY section) that adds certain abilities to the different armor permutations. Let me explain how it would work: the abilities would correspond to how the armor was meant to be used. For instance, EVA would allow the user higher jumping height, or a vehicular advantage, Recon would give the user faster speed, EOD would give the user more explosive damage, Hayabusa would give the user camo or slight camo. Also, the perks would correspond to how much of that armor type you were wearing. Take the Haybusa armor: one part, we'll say the hemet, would give slight camo. A helmet and a shoulder would give better camo. A helmet and both shoulders would give even better camo, and full Hayabusa would give full camo. You could also mix armors to result in shared advantages. For instance, Recon chest and helmet and one Hayabusa shoulder and one EOD shoulder would result in 50% increase in speed, 25% increase in camo, and 25% increase in explosive damage. I believe this would create refreshing and diverse gameplay and introduce a little strategy into the mix. Please discuss, and feel free to build off the idea.

The ideas aforementioned were merely brainstorming suggestions, seeing as full camo with full Hayabusa is pretty overpowered, though it made a good example for explanatory reasons. Also, this could only be a custom games option! Maybe a playlist for it, like fiesta or something, but most likely just a little thing to do with friends or the like; you don't have to use the feature.

Its a good idea but I don't think it should be tied in with the armour but it would be an excellent idea to have seperately because people wouldn't want to have to wear armour they don't like just to get a better strategy.

Some armor could have disadvantages as well as advantages.

Example:recon has faster movement but less health

If full hayabusa gave you full camo, everyone would be using it. It would cause every game to be a bunch of ghosts fighting...

I make a legitimate thread on the most logical choice for the next Bond actor, and you take that away from me by creating a parody thread indirectly connecting my thread to yours.

I hope your kids have bad influences and develop bad personalities. I wish this with all my heart.

Bungie considered this in Halo 3, but it was just too difficult to truly have the armors be balanced. By keeping the armors the same ability-wise, the gameplay stayed just like we know and love, while spicing up the multiplayer. By giving the players the ability to be more stealthy, stronger, etc. Bungie would have to spend so much time balancing the gameplay, when they could spend their time working on more worthwhile features.

I highly dislike the idea, but if it IS implemented then you should only gain a small advantage by wearing the FULL SET OF ARMOR. None of this you should of this and that a body of this and a helmet of this gives me this, this, and this.

NO. I would not play any Halo that is even SLIGHTLY class-based. Extra damage? more health? FULL CAMO? no way man.

Just custom games - you DO NOT BY ANY CIRCUMSTANCES have to use the option.
