Thank God you were here to deliver it to us officially.
You have gold text, so I know that your word is law.

Gold text? whatevs. keep in mind that this really is just speculation, like almost everything else in this forum.

It isn't our shiznit anymore.

Not all class games are bad. And you can still spawn equally in class games without "ruining the experience." How about you choose what weapon you spawn with (those weapons being weak starting weapons: AR, PR, PP, Spiker, magnun, SMG) and you can still hunt for the power weapons. See, not all class based ideas will ruin Halo.

if you have any questions about halo i am one of the few people on this site who will gladly help you. Even though this account has been active for only a year, my past accounts go all the way back to 2002.

Call of Duty is not a true class-based game. Your entire argument is null and void.

this, and i'd like to point out that the guns unlocked later in call of duty are not better than the ones you first start out with.

Team Fortress 2 = True class based system with balanced rock, paper, scissors weapons.

Call of Duty = Custom cluster-blam!- passed off as class system.

  • 10.17.2009 4:48 PM PDT

In CoD, all the weapons are more or less equal. If you die, it is mostly because you got out shot. Although, the few weapons that are unbalanced is the M16, P90, and the M21. All the other weapons take some form of skill to use. In Halo, all you need is to pick up the power weapons, and you are set. The weapon you start off with is completely useless against anything besides itself, and other weak weapons.

The BR completely dominates every scenario, is the only gun you really need.

Don't hate a game just because it is different than your precious Halo.

In Call of Duty 4 they are. Why do you think you hear people complaining about being put up against level 50's using the same powerful weapons. They are slightly more powerful by like one or two bullets though so it isn't that bad.

Beware the smiley face! =D

Agree 100%

CoD is all about who spawns with a better weapon and who shoots first. Halo is much more variable and fun.

Think about it guys. Halo has been popular for over 8 years as an amazing FPS, partly because we "are all spawned equally". in class based games like CoD, it depends on how long you've been playing rather that your own skill, i can't tell you how many times i've frustratedly threw down my controller in CoD as i was slaughtered by a guy with a more powerful weapon than me. in Halo, we all start out with the same weapon and it's your skill and knowledge of the game that helps you to come out on top. Bungie won't change an award-winning format, no matter what some kid on this forum may say.

maybe you shouldn't suck a cod because any decent player can get kills with whatever guns they have at their disposal

The battle rifle kills slower than most short range weapons. So it dominates the mid-range and far-range scenario, but it is useful in the close range scenario because a couple missed bullets means the AR guy is dead.

No. the PPsh can mow down at somewhat long range unlike the tommy. the STG is a basically modern weapon that is full auto and accurate at long range, unlike the tommy. the FG42 is an almost modern machinegun with sniper accuracy, whereas the tommy is a 1920's mobster weapon with bad accuracy at long range. the PTRS is a...

I could go on and on.

Bottom line: the more you play, the better guns you have.

PS. Dont flame me for this but ive never played CoD 4 online multiplayer.

STFU. i dont suck cod. or suck AT CoD. whichever it is, i don't do it. let's not degenerate into personal insults and immaturity, now, OK?

Then in Halo that will be fixed. COD has a crappy class system it should you spawn with the weapon you're best with, but you would still have a limited choice of what you wanna spawn with.

Obviously people making these threads have played very little CoD4.

The M40A3, the first sniper, is the most accurate sniper, and has great potential to be the most powerful. I still use it, in fact, and I am a level 55.

The M16, the first assault rifle, is the most unbalanced weapon in the game, kind of like the BR. It is highly accurate, and kills very fast.

The MP5, the first SMG, is also one of my personal favorites, and is also a great weapon.

Those who complain about higher levels having 'better' guns don't know what they are talking about, most of the time they are players who have played games like Halo, and are used to having a BR type weapon that can just dominate everything (and the funny thing is that they do have a BR type gun, the M16, so the very fact that they are whining baffles me).

Every weapon in CoD4 has, more or less, the same amount of pros and cons. So any weapon can be considered to be the best weapon in the game by a certain player if they know how to use it properly. I consider the AK-74u to be the best SMG, and I absolutely despise the mini uzi. Yet I have talked to those who love the mini uzi. It all has to do with your preference.

Again, don't start saying CoD4 is bad just because it is different. Especially when you haven't played it a lot.

The BR has the following traits:
-It is one of the most accurate weapons
-It is one of the few, mid-rid range weapons
-It is good at close range, due to its large reticule, especially with:
-->Grenade + headshot
-->Melee + headshot
--> Plasma pistol + headshot

-It is has the ability to be one of the fastest killing weapons
-It has a scope
-It has the largest magazine capacity
-In a typical MM scenario, it is one of the few weapons that can get more than one kill per mag.

look. i have said it before and i will keep on saying it until it gets through.

LEAVE HALO ALONE!!!

IF YOU WANT YOUR PRECIOUS CLASS SYSTEMS, PLAY TF2 OR COD!!

class systems can be really annoying, because you can't recat to situations and pickup weapons in BF2 and TF2, and in CoD its just plain unbalanced.

My problems [with Reach] are basically just full parties, mlg, and people who go out of their way not to get killed.

There may be a way to balance the two out. Perhaps spawn with the same weapon, but snipers have more sniper damage, heavy weapons have more splash damage, etc.

Although, I do not think I would like that very much. I'm just saying there are a few ways to balance it out.

Except in Call of Duty, the weapons, damage, and gameplay all encourage a "hold the right trigger and win" mentality. Hence; my nickname for the game "Holdrighttriggerandwin II".

In Halo, you can't just sit around and get points for losing. You are expected to have personal skill to add to the team. It does not matter if that "skill" is flag touching and going -14 because of it. You are expected to contribute to the team.

I can obtain the highest rank in Call of Duty for standing around, and maybe even get some kills for holding the right trigger.

Do NOT compare the Battle Rifle to the M16. The fact they are burst-fire means nothing. The M16 is like spawning with Rockets in Halo... it's a one shot kill.

Similarly, sniping in Call of Duty encourages not holding the right trigger, but spamming it. Team Snipers in Halo has this and it's called the Beam Rifle. Yet, take two shots one after the other and you overheat your weapon, nice job!

Call of Duty... bam bam bam bam bam "did I hit a target with my massive right trigger fury?"

93% of statistics are lies. Formerly Xfire Grunt. Unfortunately, you can't change the WLID for your BNET account, so I had to create an alternate account. My other WLID was spam city (and it was my e-mail account too).

Call of Duty doesn't play like that. The M16 and MP40 are two of the most powerful weapons in the game and you get them in each COD title by the time you are level 4 or level 11 (which takes about 15 minutes).

COD is an abomination of a class based game that did some things right, mainly the idea of Progression. If Halo can take that concept, and make it its own, we're good.

okay seriously. i really don't like how cods online is played like how the weapons are earned.

(now i'm not saying i hate class based games cuz i love star wars battlefront)

without classes like it is now it is completely and entirely fair. so why change something thats already great? personally i think a class based halo game is a complete epic FAIL
