Vehicle Jacking: The max distance you can be from the vehicle to jack it is 3.5 feet. And when you are getting jacked both players rapidly tap (B) to fight for the vehicle. After 2.25 seconds have passed if the vehicle jacker pressed (B) the most times then he wins and his victim is removed from the vehicle. If it's a tie or the player getting jacked presses (B) more times then he stays in the vehicle.

Edit: I see there may be a problem with this so I came up with a possible solution.

Solution?: The player who is jacking has to press a sequence of random buttons that pop up as quickly as he can while the driver tries to throw him off by stopping, speeding up, spinning, etc. The jacker has to keep pressing until he has pressed 15 times, and in the mean time the driver is trying to throw him off.

Why not? Explain

Eat raw meat.
Punch a bear in the face.

If you don't know who I am, the feeling is mutual.

Wouldn't the idea of unjackable vehicles make smaller vehicles like the Ghost or Chopper unstoppable?

Modded controllers, for one. I don't want to lose all my hijacking fights because someone made a controller that rapidly hits B.

This sounds fun, but the major issue in this is the connection. I'll explain more if you want.

Vehicles wouldn't be unjackable. Now that I think about it even if this were put into the game. The player being jacked has to worry about driving and the person jacking them. So more likely the jacker would win.

nah. too much like mechassault 2. besides, the modded controllers would mean that you basically can't hijack vehicles then.

now he fights and loses
got all the bruises
will someone please step in?

modded controllers are an issue for your idea guy... but a simple solution would be to make a random combo of buttons pop up for you to press instead of just tap a or b.
Unfortunately that sounds like it'd just be a pain in the ass, and if you don't want your vehicle jacked, don't get close to enemies. Keeping jacking as is, in my opinion at least

Marine Corps.
Semper Fi.

My problems [with Reach] are basically just full parties, mlg, and people who go out of their way not to get killed.

No, because like someone else mentioned you have issues with modded controllers.

Then there is the fact the pilot/driver should not get a second chance for his failure to properly drive/fly.

You mean like hijacking an Oliphant in LOTR: Conquest? That was too simple, easy kill everytime. Maybe they should have a short sequence where it randomly determines who wins? Idk.

Okay I see what you guys mean. It can't be that simple because of modded controllers, and if it's more complex it could be realy annoying.

I think I have solved that problem.
