Alrighty. So, go back to your main folder. Now open the "images" folder and locate a file named "BodyBackground.gif". That file is what's going to be used to create your background.
So now if you go and open up that file in the program which you're using, you will..well, should see a blue strip extending from the left hand side (you might have to zoom in a bit).
*At this point i'd like to remind you that you should be working in RGB mode If you're not, you really ought to change it because it's going to make your life loads easier.
That blue strip is going to be automatically copied down many times to create the entire left hand side section background (just like you can see the blue background here in these forums).
If you now go and select the area that that blue strip covers (be careful to select the area, you might want to zoom in), you can colour it in anyway you want, or you can use an image.
Now there's something important you need to remember here, and i quote:
That blue strip is going to be automatically copied down to create the entire left hand side section background
Therefore, if you decide to place an image in replace for that blue strip, whatever you can see of the image in that strip, is going to be copied down many times and this can lead to very undesirable results. So be careful.
If you now zoom in and go to about the centre of the BodyBackground image, you should see some grey/brown strips. Take a look now at the right hand side of this forum. Yup, those brown/grey strips are what is used to make that track. So what you can now do is go edit those strips in anyway you want really. You can perhaps keep the track feel, but use different colours or maybe have an image placed so we'll see images all the way down and so on...
*It is important to remember that that section will behave in exactly the same way as the left hand side; it's going to be copied down multiple times.
Now as for the rest of the background on that right hand side, well, it's the stuff that surrounds these tracks. So, if you want, you can go change the rest of that image with your own colours or place an image there.
Once you're done, Save for web (i.e. save it as a .gif file) and replace the existing BodyBackground file. Now you can go back to your ThemeBuilder.htm file and press F5 (refresh) and you should see your background change.

Ok, so that's the basics. Once you get a bit better you might want to be aware that you don't necessarily have to stick to pre-defined areas in that file, and you can do whatever you like with it really. With that i say thank you for reading and i hope you haven't fallen asleep (i get carried away sometimes).
