What have you tried?
Do you have problems with firewalls?
What firewalls do you use?

the firewall shouldn't be a problem if you don't get popups saying "blah blah blah has been blocked" from your firewall. Are we talking about a dedicated server or a regular server?

What do you mean you can't host? People can't come to your server? the game screws up when you try to host? What exactly is the problem?

When I open up a game, nobody comes. Not that I'm unpopular in HALO but i think i need to turn off some thing for t to work.

1) you can't expect anybody to come right then and there. It could be 5 minutes, or 5 hours.
2) get a friend to try and get on your server. This can rule out the posibility of a technical problem.

I had the same problem, here is what I did. Have a friend (talking over Xfire preferably) Try to join your game. If it works, good. If not ask him what the port number was. (The number after the colon (:)) Now just type in your gateway into the address bar in FireFox or IE. Now go to anything that says something like "Port Forwarding" on it. Open the port your friend told you your server was using. BUT if he says something like "2354" I would open up "2350" to "2360". Just incase it randomises or something.

When I try hosting a game, no one can see it....A friend tried looking for it, but it was not there. Anyone else have this problem?

I use the McAfee Firewall.

Make sure you are doing an internet server and not lan, make sure you and your friend have the same connection, that could cause you both to have different IP's so the servers can be all jumbled up.
