How dare you, HOW DARE YOU! Halo Wars was amazing! And Bungie was involved, and many of them enjoyed the outcome of Halo Wars its a fine addition to the Halo universe. It's probably my favorite.

Well, I thought Halo Wars was fun, it was a good RTS, but the story kind of sucked. And it pretty much ruined some of the canon, the first encounter EVER with the Flood was supposed to be during Halo CE, now, apparently, the made contact with them 25 years prior. It ruins some of those awe inspiring moments.
the flood are kept hidden by a government conspiracy

it doese'nt look nextgen , looks good but not nextgen
If by next-gen you mean crappy, dark and colorless, I agree. It doesnt look next-gen at all.

Why? He's a great writer and they're great books.

I have not problem with him, just stressing a point, that just because he isn't part of Bungie doesn't mean that his work is non-canon. Hell, he should write all the other novels.

-~it's all buisness!!!~~~~~

I didn't even think about the flood reocords, good catch. And i seriously did not apreciate halo wars. i felt the gameplay was repetative and borderline boring at times.

Enough with the messages,
I don't want to join your stupid groups.

For god's sake, I KNOW. I played the damn game. But don't you think its a bit more epic when you first encounter them in a cramped area with a horror vibe? Instead of, "Oh, there's a new life form."[/quote]

It was cool, but it wasn't life changind, I sat there and said, "Sweet, zombies!" And continued to play the game, I feel the tension between the Covenant and humans is a bit more interesting.

But what do you think is better, first contact there, or first contact 25 years earlier, just no one knew about it?

Here’s what Luke had to say about the differences in treatment between the Spartans and Elites in Reach:

“Instead of piece-by-piece customization like the Spartans, Elite customization is a full model swap with models selected from the various Elite classes appearing throughout the Campaign. There are all kinds of reasons for this, not the least of which is our continued emphasis on the Spartan as your identity in Reach.”

no he isn't, and no they aren't.

There are amazing plot holes throughout the first book, and he doesn't understand that his descriptions of naval maneuvers aren't very clear.

Plot holes? Some plot holes are left there for a reason. As for the naval maneuvers... meh, its a space battle, use your imagination. The first book has some inconsistencies but its still great.

Halo Wars is part of the Halo franchise; this means that everything in the game is cannon unless it is refuted by a stronger game, such as one from the trilogy or one of the books. Anyways that's how I look at it.

hALO WARS should not be considered a part of the halo storyline, just the halo franchise.

Halo Wars is canon, whether you like it or not the events officially happened in the Halo universe. As to how they impact other stuff? Wait a bit and see what the new material (halo encyclopaedia, forerunner trilogy, Halo: Origins) has to say.

Ripa Moramee is Cannon. He was far to awesome to not be.
That was his name? Huh. That's not a very tough name for such a tough guy. Then again, he died from a single knife to the neck... followed shortly by plasma blades to the stomach.

Halo Wars characters shouldn't be in Reach, but more because there's not much reason. The Spirit of Fire was probably not at Reach, and its crew could've been on any of the other remaining planets, or just elsewhere in the vast emptiness of space.

Although I don't think we should be rendered speechless if the Prophet of Regret shows up in Reach.

Salute me. Or... or, you know, stuff.

I find it sad when people who love FPSes rag on Halo Wars because it's an RTS, therefore not as fast-paced as to what they're accustomed to. It's fine if you prefer an FPS to an RTS, but that certainly doesn't make the game bad.

As others have said, Halo Wars is canon. Whining about the discovery of the Flood is kind of irrelevant, the crew on Spirit of Fire never returned home, or so we're led to believe. This is the very reason that the Flood are even permitted to be in Halo Wars. It keeps the timeline and logistics in the story intact and free of holes. It is interesting that Regret is the only character in the game whom we've seen in other games, but on the UNSC side of the story it all makes sense.

But Halo Wars, its characters and storyline, are part of the Halo universe and, like it or not, this must be accepted.

Well, boy, aren't you going to be having fun when Bungie stop making Halo, and Microsoft and 343 Industries start making Halo games.

Geez, just enjoy the games for what they are. Halo Wars was a fantastic game on its own. Treat it as such.

Bungie did work very closely with Ensemble, to make sure that they got the finer details correct; which they definitely did.

Halo Wars was good but it should have played more like dawn of war 2 i think. And the human charcters were chiche and kind of weak. I loved Ripa and the prophet of regret.
