Subject: Theory on the BR in Reach.

In the book, First Strike, the Spartans in the ONI facility have prototype BRs. I believe, that in early Reach levels, you don't have the BR and then in later levels you gain access to the BR.

or

You manage to get a few prototypes somehow.

I think most will go with #2.

What do you think?
Any solutions for MLG's favorite weapons?

I'm the cult of personality,
I call it like i see it, if i feel the need to be blunt and to the point, then i will, if i feel the need to be very detailed, i will, im here to stay and im here to do things my way, if you respect that or not is your choice, not mine,
and don't worry, while i don't agree with everyone's opinion, i do respect everyone's opinion.

who cares about MLG?

I know I hate MLG. If the lack of BR would give them a huge middle finger, Go for it Bungie.

Non Nobis Nascimur - We are not born for ourselves.

They had BRs in Contact Harvest, so they should have them on Reach. Only I hope they tone them down a little, one weapon shouldn't be that good.

I would like to the BR from the Halo 2 E3 demo. it just looks funner and i like the Idea of a HUMAN semi auto rifle
with the three round burst it just feels like an other Assault rifle

Reach could do with out the BR if the AR was
1. louder
2. More accurate in controlled burst; and reasonable in auto like the ODST SMG
3. did more Armor damage than shield damage like in Halo CE
4. an aim mechanic like the ODST SMG, or the RFG AR would be nice

but like i said the BR is a good weapon bungie should keep it but balance it out a little more, and make it louder

"Science without religion is lame. Religion without science is blind." - Albert Einstien

A very select few had them in Harvest since it was being field tested as a prototype weapon. So in Contact Harvest the weapon probably looked and fired fairly different than the Halo 2/3 variants. The weapon was still being prototyped during Reach, and the only reason they found them was chance if I recall correctly. So I doubt they will be in Reach, and if so very insignificantly.

Yes! The semi-auto would be fine. All I really want is the AR to actually have a use, compared to the BR.

Tucker: "no dude, that's a pedephile"
Church: "tucker, i think he means a pacifier"

Personally the only way I would be alright with a BR being featured in Reach is if they balance it out with the weapon set. Currently the game is defined by the BR and the gameplay that revolves around the BR. The game is not really defined by your playskill but by how good you are with one weapon (generally speaking of course).

If they balance out the BR, or the entire weapon set for a change :P, then i'm cool with it's continuation in the games. From a story standpoint, the BR was retconned into Contact Harvest, so there is no reason why they couldn't feature it in Reach.
