Because aliens.

Yes, forge is awesome, but everyone that has ever wanted to create their very own maps, with terrain, textures and things like that, raise your hands (oooh, lot's of hands). It would make it funnier for the serious forgers as well for those who mess around, and we would see some people who can't forge normally in Halo 3 shine with some awesome natural maps instead.

I really hope this would come true, since it actually works on consoles (yes, believe it or not. Play the Far Cry 2 Map editor and get amazed). And they now could have the chance to input it on Reach.

Also I would like to say that interlocking and advanced forging should be made easier, so that you can concentrate on building an awesome map and not bothering on these tiny corners that makes everything unsmooth, and adding some new forge objects.

Please comment your ideas.

okay. that's fine, but alot of people have been commenting on this topic, so don't think that you have some kind of revolutionary idea.

Hey

Personally all I do in Halo is forge and I honestly would not like this update. I'd like it to keep things harder for people, so they can challenge themselves more to actually accomplish their ideas. Now maybe a texture for items, like an option to change a blocks color would be cool.

One thing I wanted to have was a way to limit the color effects to one room, or side. You could control the radius sort of like your making a hill for king of the hill in forge. Same with a distortion of gravity, maybe a low gravity field that can be altered in size as well.

If they keep everything the way it is, with just better objects then I'm going to love it. If they make it like Far Cry 2's then I'm not going to love it, Yes Far Cry 2 has a brilliant map editor but it's too simple and easy to make magnificent structures. Bungie, please don't think that you need to change it up for everyone to be happy.

Uh yeah, sorry, but I don't read every single reply on every single topic in this forum you know. It's quite hard to know if anyone has the same idea.

Hey

Don't worry I don't see these kind of posts enough, so when I see a forge topic I jump for it. lol. It's all topics on the BR and Recon.

Halo is M$'s cash cow, everybody knows it. they make money like this : you buy the (incomplete) game, then they sell like 4 map packs for 10$ each (yuropens (these guys accross the sea where the queen lives and stuff) have to pay 10 Euros which is like 15$ but whatever).
you buy map packs with MS points, that you buy with real money.

so you spend ~100$ (100 Euros for us, which makes like 120$ ............. :| ).

but if they give us a powerful tool to make our own maps, then they won't be able to sell map packs anymore.
why would anybody pay for map packs when they could make their own maps that'll be just as good? even if they make matchmaking REQUIRE map packs, then we'll only play custom and have infinite fun anyway.

MS won't be gaining more money anymore. so they won't give us such a tool, ever ever.

All roads lead to Sol.

If they can make forge snap objects to other objects and have an undo button and freeze or set mode once the prop is placed then it would be much more fun to use. At the moment it is sometimes agonising.

A an actually blank grid which generates a random terrain with a couple presets would be nice. A few preset bases that can go on top of or under the terrain and then a weather/time of day control added onto Forge would be nice. Aside from that, all I really want in Forge is to be able to put thins outside the normal boundaries of the map to expand and enhance the level's gameplay.

Death to rank junkies.

I'd love to be able to put every weapon and vehicle on every map, and be able to place dead bodies.

forge isnt a map maker. its an object editor. you dont make maps with it. you just place/ or delete objects within pre made geometry.

forge sucks but i dont feel like ranting why it sucks.

timesplitters map maker is amazing. it pwnzorz teh suckiest nubz

Welcome to my empire.

I Agree!

I at least want trees, rocks and other scenery objects. I hate that we kept getting soccer balls and other boring items on Halo 3. By the way, what happened to the kill ball on the last 3 mythic maps?

I really like adding your own texture idea. Imagine playing Grifball in a Football stadium or something. Or rockets inside a gamestop

There once was an ugly barnacle. He was so ugly that everyone died.

The end.

SCFH
