Check out the group, Planet Reach and talk about Bungie's next game without the annoyance of the public forum. Oh and it's nice there too.

You thought you had lag, it took Jesus 3 days to re-spawn.

I couldn't find the ForumEye link, but I found an old post back from E3. The guy says a bunch of people from ForumEye went to E3 and talked to MS. A lot of the things he claimed at the time, we have gotten clarification on. To me, that makes it fairly credible.

Link to what people at ForumEye were saying around E3

I support this idea if

*MM has ODST's gameplay style
*Open world campaign
*BFBC or CODS ranking system
*Larger maps for BTB

In a spanish magazine called Hobby consolas they interviewed Bungie ,at their studio and they answered several questions about halo waypoint, halo legends and halo reach.

When did this magazine come out?
Is there some online magazine article that you could link us to so we can verify this?

It does make a bit of sense though.

Sorry but not, anyway I will post the cover of the magazine.

This is most likely fake, because non-linear play WOULDN'T work in Reach. 90% of the planet was glassed within an hour, how are we supposed to get open world out of that? The only thing not glassed was Castle base.

Your argument is kind of flawed, considering an hour long plot wouldn't be any good for a linear game either. Obviously Bungie is going to switch something up, or retcon something for this game to work.

And considering they've all but admitted that some ODST features were a "testing ground" for things to come, I'm sure open-world gameplay was one of the features they were "testing out" in ODST.

Just throwing this out there, but the Battle of Reach lasted far longer than an hour, and we could easily see other planets besides Reach.

Hey.

I hope they're not going to develope a open world shooter.
Halo games deserve somthing better, though i like open world in gta, i really don't like it in fps...example? -farcry 2...
After all i prefer linear gameplay...

Reading this"The SP campaign will be different to what we have seen in previous games" from the ForumEye site, this makes a lot of sense.

IE: Not open world then, since that's what we saw in ODST.

"Not like previous games"

You're all wrong.

Yea, I mean the basic structure of ODST in and of itself, should have been enough of evidence that that was the direction they were heading with Reach.

If bungie make a bigger map than ODST HUB's with random enemies, marines squads moving around and ramdom conflicts in the place to join,oh and with similar non-lineal levels like ODST's one combined with a new AAA graphic engine and an awesome new multiplayer experience, then, I'll jizz my pants.

Thank you op, for this information, Im very happy about it, gonna make replaying the campaign that much sweeter.

Open world would have it's positives and negatives. Just look at FarCry 2 for inspiration on this matter.

Personally, I think they should go for it though. People are always too scepticle about change. I loved the open-world aspects of ODST, and I think it caught a good balance of being vast enough to roam and not being over-abitious at the same time.

Picking up hookers in a warthog would be AWESOME though...
