I think that Halo:Reach should include a number of new things, now many of you may think my ideas are dumb and a lot of you might think they are awesome but please don't put hate on me, only good constructive criticism please.

In Halo:Reach I think it would be awesome since they are using a new graffixs engine anyway to have much larger multiplayer maps that could be something like of what people made from the halo custom edition for the PC, a lot of you have no idea what that is so just search it, you will be surprised. I think this would be a great place to start just look at these screenshots of the map coldsnap for halo costom edition for the PC:
Coldsnap Map Layout
Lol you know what forget about the images check out this video of the map I have found on youtube and this video shows the entire map:
Here is video
Now I know what you are all thinking, what does this have to do with Halo:Reach? well it's a brand new start for bungie to be thinking on a great multiplayer experience that everyone could enjoy, imagine a big level such as coldsnap there where you could drive around cliffs, mountains, and crevices on the verge of near death almost falling off the cliff every time because of those people who always wanna drive who are just terrible drivers. And spawning in an awesome hanger and loading up with powerful things you will need for the mighty war you are about to face. Imagine getting into a pelican, jet, or longsword flying to the other flag dodging nukes and anti-air missiles to capture the flag or pick up stranded teammates. I know that feeling because when I played Halo Custom Edition for the PC I got to do what every halo fan boy has always wanted to do.... Drive one of those awesome pelicans across a huge landscape of a snowy wasteland.

Please tell me wouldn't this be a great new approach to the halo universe? Wouldn't this be an awesome new experience that will keep us all wrapped up in it for years to give Bungie a while to make their next title after Halo:Reach?

If you haven't already figured out I love vehicles, especially flying vehicles haha.

Just leave your comments and tell me what you think.

Also if you have other ideas please post them here because I would like to here them!

Thanks: FDFinalDownfall

Anyone but Foman. He smells like cheese.

Huge, massive maps always sound good in theory but never work out in reality. I remember extremely similar posts during the early days of the Halo 3 Forum pre-release. People wanted massive maps, miles long, with Pelicans and crap all over the place.

The simple truth of the huge maps is that they are not fun to play in multiplayer, even if they are fun in campaign. Even on Halo 3's larger maps, such as Sandtrap and Avalanche, huge portions of the map tend to go untouched during the vast majority of multiplayer games. Go here and compare the heatmaps of a smaller "big" map (like Valhalla) with Sandtrap or Avalanche. The difference is stark.

With a medium-to-fast-paced FPS like Halo, extremely large maps tend to result in frustration and boredom. Definitely not what Bungie wants in a multiplayer experience.

Oh I defiantly see what you mean there * x Foman123 x there are untouched parts of maps especially avalanche that are just bare and have absolutly no red on them you defiantly don't want that but I was just thinking as maybe one map or something maybe like a completely new game mode like how you guy's did in firefight but instead the firefight would be between players. Perhaps not but who say's you can't still have your regular multiplayer experience while delivering an entirely new one? Could you please explain just a little bit of the downfalls to this idea because it would help a lot thanks.

You could blame most of that on the wide open flat areas that provide you with no cover. If you look at the heatmaps, the untouched areas are usually the ones without any kind of cover out in the middle of nowhere. In Sandtrap there is a little "ledge" on one of the sand dunes that is red because its the only place where you get some kind of cover from enemy fire. Halo 2 had a map (Containment) which solved this in many ways by giving the player a good amount of cover all around the edges of the map, and through the middle of the map, under the open terrain.

As for Coldsnap. God that map is horrible. Doesnt have enough cover on huge open areas (problem with Sandtrap and Avalanche) and the map is HUGE. I thought the pelican was a weapon and the Ghosts were grenades. Then you get only 1 ground entrance/exit to enemy territory which is extremely thin, and long.

You are also right indeed that was one of my favorite maps to play on in halo 2 and that map was huge and implemented the banshee really quite well that's why I loved it and that map did just fine, just imagine a map double that size perhaps triple that size with a lot of cover and places to hide from hordes of people dropping in from vehicles and other things that would be an experience. Great example BTE.
