Forge

Let's face it, as cool as it'd be to have a Far Cry 2 or Crysis styled full map editor, it isn't going to happen. They still have make money from DLC right? So we're more than likely going to end up with a slightly better Forge. Thought that really isn't a big deal, I have come up with a list of things that could be used to improve the Forge!

Scenery Item Properties

Here's my first idea that could drastically improve Forge as it is. After you've placed a scenery object you press X on it to open up a menu that has different properties for the item.
Some of the options would be:

Rotate: X:____ Y:____

Here you could select the degrees you wanted your item to be rotated by. You can still rotate it as the Monitor, but this could be used to make your maps more precise.

Weight: Light----[-]------Heavy

Don't you hate setting up something that is knocked down by a hazardous friend or by accident? By setting the toggle heavier it would stick down and stay down. By setting the toggle more towards Light it would be easier to move. If it was all the way down you could simply push it around on foot or send it flying with a vehicle or grenade. Heavier things would fall faster and hurt more if you were hit by them moving fast. Light items would slowly fall and do minimum damage on contact.

Solid Editing: Yes/No

Now you don't need to set it to not spawn at the start and take a lot of time. Setting it to Yes would make it so you could place objects inside of it without either of them being wrecked. Of course, this could cause glitches, but it would also save a lot of time.

Float: Yes/No

No more place object. Place other object. Delete first object bull -blam!-. Toggling Yes would make your object defy gravity. I think that about sums it up.

Skins: UNSC/Covenant/Forerunner/etc...

Selecting any of these would make the current scenery have a different skin. UNSC would make the object look like an average wall. Covenant would make the object their purple color. Forerunner would make it look like the objects on Citadel. There could be others like stone, brick, Brute, or others. Now you can have a UNSC vs Covenant base map.

Respawn: Seconds:______

The same old respawn as Halo 3's except now you can choose the time it takes. Now you can have something respawn after 32 seconds instead of the traditional settings.

Start on Map: Yes/No

Exactly the same as Halo 3.

Start on Round: ____

Maybe you want that special Gravity Hammer only to spawn on the 3rd round for some unknown reason. Now you can.

Undo/Redo

This is all I ask to be put into Reach's Forge. Even if they didn't add any new items, I'd be happy with an Undo/Redo button.

I'll edit in more into the boxes below.

Forge Weapon Properties

These are mostly for Custom Games. It could help for making fun maps, but not for serious matches!!!!

If you made it from my last post this is almost the same thing except this time the properties are effecting weapons.

The Properties will have all the same things as the original Forge except this time around it will have some more properties.

Weight: Light-----[-]-----Heavy

Setting the weight of a weapon would effect the speed at which you can move while holding a certain weapon. This could make some fun Custom Game matches.

Accuracy:Sloppy-----[-]-----Precise

Now you can make your weapon fire in a strait line or have it spray all over in a rain of bullets.

Scope: 0-10

Using this you can make any weapon have a score besides melee weapons. 0 would mean no scope and 10 would be Halo CE Sniper Scope.

Damage:None-----[-]-----Instant Kill

Putting the marker anywhere changes the amount of damage the weapon does obviously.

Skin:(List of available skins for the weapon)

This could cater to the COD fans and Halo fans. On your maps you could have your own custom weapons.

I still have more to edit, but I'm out of time right now. I'll update it ASAP.

[Just in case I need another one]

YES!!! Forge needs to be improved so much!
Altering terrain and such will make a very fun map, and Machinima would be wayyy easier to make. Also using these ideas, you can create a scenario way easier.
I also suggest an object called a Terminal, that you can insert text or voice recordings into to explain what scenario you're in, how to use a device, how they made said device, etc.

Being able to insert test dummies or A.I. would be cool too.

Yes, they do need to make Machinima easier to make in Halo. They could help it all by making us able to download videos from Bungie.net to our computers.
