Subject: Reach on Games on Demand

The day Reach hits stores, I'd love to download it off Games on Demand. I would not mind forgoing certain preorder bonuses, etc, if I could download it for $40 or $50 dollars off XBL the same day the disc is available.

Yea, Nay?

Wouldn't it be downloadable a week or so after the game came out as to not screw over the brick and motar stores? Not that I exactly know what I'm talking about...

Downloading full sized games takes A LOT of memory. Unless a lot of people have the 120gb hd, there will be a lot of CDs bought.

Check out the group, Planet Reach and talk about Bungie's next game without the annoyance of the public forum. Oh and it's nice there too.

You thought you had lag, it took Jesus 3 days to re-spawn.

I would think that would be true. I don't see it being available at all on Games on Demand either. Not anytime around release anyway.

Well there just so happens to be a plethora of FULL games on the GAMES ON DEMAND marketplace.
And it costs them nothing to place the file on the marketplace :
They should do it !

Games on demand is for the real old games that you can go to game stop and buy used for like $10 .... it's just Microsoft's way to get your money for a game by making you spend $20 on a game worth less than $10. So a brand new game would definitely not be on there.

I highly doubt it would be there - i'm not sure why you'd want to pay to download it anyway. With a disc you can take a copy of the game to your friends house rather than having to lug a Hard Drive around with you.

But Games on Demand is just a place where Microsoft get a chance to rip customers off by selling a game for double the amount it costs in stores anyway. I don't think that new releases get put up there.

Games on Demand should eventually offer games new. Maybe not on this console, but you have to be pretty thick to think discs will be around forever.

RIP Halo 2 Multiplayer

Downloading it from Games on Demand would cost just as much as it will in store, if it's released on the same day... And I prefer to have a hard-copy of games, so I wouldn't get it from the marketplace anyway.

I AM THE GREAT BOBALUGA

It's going that way. Maybe the next gen systems will use that as their main source of sales.

I like the idea, but if the game is a complete bust for me, then you could not re sell it on eBay/trade it in, because that stuff is console restricted.

Ouch, good point, although certain games are automatic buys, espeically Bungie games.
