Um... I like Halo? I don't really know what to say. I'm a student at the moment, I hope to become a criminal profiler, and I enjoy pretty much everything as long as it's good.

Forgive me if I'm wrong but didn't Halo:CE have a physics system where if the body of a dead player hit you at a particular velocity you would die? The sustem might be impractical and could become annoying but damn if it wasn't funny. Does anyone else think they should bring that back? Was that ever even included? Am I going insane?

Looking to hook up with some competent players! Please PM me if you want a decent team mate, looking to learn from good players and impart what I know to the team too. Im sick of going 'randy' and getting betrayed for the sniper etc.. and having to put up with BK team mates

Yeah I don't see why not? Perhaps the boffins would argue against this as it could possibly hinge who wins or loses a game?

Flying body parts that kill,

its got a ring to it

EDIT:

My appologies

Flying bodies that kill,

No, not body parts, the body itself. I swear that was in the first Halo. Anyways there should at least be an option to turn it on.

I can't remember if it was in the first Halo....

Nihilism (from the Latin nihil, nothing) is a philosophical position that argues that existence is without objective meaning, purpose, or intrinsic value.

Put simply in the words of Nietzsche as "the will to nothingness".

I have played alot of Halo:CE in my time and not once have I witnessed this. Still that would of been a riot if I did.

Oh, Death was never enemy of ours!
We laughed, knowing better men would come,
And greater wars: when each proud fighter brags
He wars on Death, for lives: not men, for flags.
"The Next War"

Either way, it should be implemented into this game. It would add a lot of realism. Imagine driving through a field of dead enemies and bouncing around on their bloody corpses.

...I see a new "cone" coming along.

J-H

Nope...Death by bodies definitely wasn't in CE... I remember you used to simply fall through anything that wasn't part of the terrain...Same as in the other Halo games...

well, Reach is on the new AAA engine and meant to be more realistic but i'd say they would put this in Reach

The original BADFINGER! (the second)

Bodies can kill in Halo 3.

Theres a film clip that i downloaded where the bloke flys through a teleporter so fast that he kills the bloke on the other side as he shoots out the receiver end of the teleporter node.

But if your talking about dead bodies killing people, im sorry to say but that has never been part of any Halo game.....ever.

I want them to bring back the Warthog physics from Halo CE. that was hilarious, especially when you were both driving full speed at each other and it would turn into a low gravity flipping carnage. Seriously get on Halo CE and splitscreen 2 Warthogs driving at each other. I got hit so hard once i flew across half the map and died when i hit the ground.....damn that fall damage.

I'm 23, I have a house, dog, girlfriend, job and I have no interest in any fanboyism so if you're thinking about sending me a childish PM, don't be surprised when I don't call back.

It was taken out because it has a negative impact on multiplayer, if 4 people are going through a narrow hallway then the guy at the front gets killed by a nade, his body will triple splatter his 3 team mates, funny but not fair really.

Well I guess I better put some pants on.

I feel like I'm gonna break this thing!

Didn't they take it out to reduce risk of framerate suffering?

Dead bodies do not kill in Halo 3. I believe that Shishka confirmed this a while back.

Indeed that was mentioned also.

  • 10.20.2009 2:54 AM PDT

As fun as it would be, it would decrease the framerate dramatically.

Halo3 already had severe problems with collision. If a few objects collided or touched each other the framerate dropped.

I know, it's a new engine but I believe collision will still be an issue.

So I say: NO. Keep the feature out of the game and have it have better lighting or animations or whatever.
